Any transport reform in Lagos state that sees nothing wrong with the Agbero system is a joke. If the intention is honest, taking out Agbero will be the first place to start.
Even in 2024 the American government, say much less the rest of the Western World has never turned its back on unions in all walks of life.
You only have to understand how it works differently in those other climes.

Ajah, under bridge from Abraham Adesanya, is not passable. The government should get serious with road infrastructure. Lekki Regional Road 8.7 km has been under construction for over 3 years.

It's as if this govt just wakes up and says what can I do to inflict more pain on the citizenry...
I have a few questions and hopefully someone can answer...
1. If they drive all the Korope off the road to the side roads, won't that congest the side roads?
2. These same inner roads are where the Marwa and Bikes were driven into. Is the MKT big enough for these new players?
3. What is the plan for those who can't get enough revenue from the inner roads? Do they just fall into the unemployed market
4. How many organizations or systems can afford to have a fleet of 50 vehicles within the time frame for starting
5. What is the window allowed for those who have invested there hard earned money in the Korope buses for them to wind down or recoup
My postulations are below.
Only the politicians and the likes of the Union leaders will be able to afford to create the Corporations needed for the registrations. Every other car owner will be required to register under them to operate and this will make these corporations control all that they do.
Are these not the same transport companies that will be used to move election materials and personnel. I see this move as a huge step towards ensuring that the APC govt controls the election narrative come 2027. Is it

What happened to Keke and bike in the inner route
I wish government will actually for once be proactive and not reactive.
1. GET TOUTS OFF THE ISLAND.
2. You are saying they can move off the expressway into Ajah - Badore. Have you been to that route? Have you seen the menace experienced by the citizens living in that axis from touts. How wide is Ajah-badore axis for all the buses you wish to put on that axis? We already have more than enough Keke's on that route, causing havoc and now you want to increase that number. Do you know how we get harassed everyday by touts on that axis by taking public transportation to convey goods. Put the same amount of sanity on inner routes as well. Touts determine the transport fare, when they like as they want. Stop vehicles with full passengers as they like and no one challenges them.
These Keke's already cause a nuisance at the entrance of Ajah cos there is no designated motor park for them, in turn causing traffic which could extend for a mile long. Simply because they are picking and dropping passengers, they obstruct cars from plying.
3. Lawma doesn't pick up trash, the whole of June, my trash hasn't been picked. This is already the 11th of July, they have still not come and yet whenever they come i will pay backlogs for services not rendered. The same thing they did in May, they only came once early June and they claimed that it was to pick up May trash and I pay 10k for that service. From that day till date I am yet to see them. I can't even contact an individual contractor to pick up my trash. Imagine how the front of my compound must look like and yet it is raining heavily. Imagine the environmental pollution? Imagine the stench?
By Ajah bridge close to what should have been a nice park is a bad portion of the road that once it rains is flooded and very disgusting and smelly cos it's filled with green algae. I'm wondering when the works department will patch that portion. Do we talk about the several bad portions of the Ajah Badore road, both coming and leaving Ajah has terrible portions which only become death traps when the floods rise as a result of the heavy downpour.
4. EKEDC has refused to give meters paid for since last year. No allocation made since they posted updated prices. I barely get electricity. Pray there isn't a transformer issue, we can stay for a week plus before it gets resolved.
Whatever Company you wish to set, please make sure we don't pay through our nose. Most government decisions, at the end of the day, its the citizens, that pay for it.
I'm just tired of the living conditions on the island and the touts.

Impounding vehicles permanently is like using sledge hammer to kill an ant. Lagos government have tried it before and it failed. It only emboldened government officials to demand premium "settlement" in hundreds of thousands of naira. They will set all kinds of traps for road users. They would waylay road users at road junctions where traffic lights are malfunctioning. The unsuspecting road user would pull and expecting the yellow light indicator and all of a sudden the traffic light would go blank. In the midst of the confusion, the motorist would be unsure of whether to go forward or stay. All of a sudden LASMA officials would pounce on the innocent victim. I am talking from experience. I have been a victim at Lagos Law school junction VI. When I noticed the traffic light has gone blank, as a responsible citizen I stopped. Rather than commend my effort, these thieves rushed to me and said my front tires have entered the diagonal yellow lines. I was still explaining that the traffic light has malfunctioned when they jerked up and towed me and my vehicle.
All over the civilized world, fines are charged for road offences and not "carrying wholesale" citizen's vehicles. What a barbaric way of doing things. There is no difference between National Assembly and Lagos government when it comes to making laws. They are "happy trigger" when it comes to making laws that affect citizens. You will NEVER see them propose death sentence or life sentence for anybody that STEALS PUBLIC FUNDS.
Uncle JD please don't fall for these people. They are not responsible as they appear and speak o. I understand and feel your pain when it comes to what happens on our highways and roads which I describe as chaos. There are several rational and civil way of solving the problem instantly without threat of permanent seizure of vehicles. All these people do is continuously looking for and creating corruption environments instead of eliminating them.

Lagos Govt Bans Danfos, 'Korope' on Lekki-Epe Expressway but allows it in the main land right? so Lagosians majority of whom are living in other areas in Lagos are to face the menace of Danfos and 'Korope' but those big shots in lagos are those who Lagos government are making policies to favor right? well done. Please ban the Danfos and 'Korope' across all Lagos road and introduce new and better bus that gives better service tp the people.

Good policy, but implementation will push the commuters to the non-existent inner roads. LASG should fix the bad portions lekki epe expressway. There are hundreds of potholes on this axis.

I think this move is a selfish move. Ur government is only concerned about themselves not about the people they are govern over. U guys want to hard to hardship people are going through. Am I against the development? No but there should be provisions for employment. There are a lot of graduates doing driving work bcos of low employment rates and that where they feed their family. If remove this people from road which job have the government provide for this people to work. Don't just wake up one morning and make policy that will sweet u without considering people that elect u into power. Mind u power is being borrow one day u will drop it.

This is a good development. The transport system in Lagos is too fragmented. The insane traffic jams that keeps people in transit for hours that is caused by danfos and koropes will begin to disappear.

Lagos state doing what it does best. A lot of motion without direction. What problem does this actually solve?
Say I'm coming from Ikeja and heading for Ajah. Does this mean that I can't get a straight bus but must first head to cms before catching another bus thereby increasing my already lengthy time on the road and potentially increasing the total fare? This centralisation of CMS, which is already plagued with congestion, will it not worsen the traffic in that area?
The in-roads within the whole of Lagos is a crying shame. But that's not really the government's problem. What matters to them is creating a structure they can milk.
Lagos is continually striving to pick the tiny oranges at the top of the tree while ignoring the big ones that are within reach. What matters most to people like myself who make the commute every day is getting to our destination within the shortest time possible and spending the least possible on transport. I'm not convinced that this new system will assist in achieving either objective

So why is Ajah to Epe axis always get nelgected as if they're not part of Lagos State? Since the estabishment of Bus Rapid Transist System (BRT) buses in March 2008 (over 16 Years ago) Ajah - Epe axis has never been considered for once despite the population and business explosion. Can government be nice for once?
The infrastructure for Brt is been prepared, the designated road for Brt is been worked on

They are stingy people when it comes to paying transport so gvt is looking for where they will make money gvt don't want to loose money

It will not work mark my word reason been that Lagos govt is not sincere in its dealings. Take for instance when the govt says they will ban okadas from a certain road in Lagos but till dates the okadas are still running that routes. Same with keke napep
Very nonsensical policy that would not solve any issue, but would only aggravates the suffering of the people. This is purely for political reasons and that's why this man cannot say exactly what problem they are trying to solve with this policy.
