Yep, my favorite cousin is an alcoholic at just 30 y/o and it is VERY trying to be around someone with that addiction. They fight, argue, don’t keep their word and don’t think rationally when it comes to many things.

I'm concerned about his well being too although he brought tremendous hurt to his family. He is battling a disease so for that I hope he can recover if for no one else, himself. We don't know his story that goes back further than his marriage. My dad was an alcoholic which brought lots of childhood trauma in my life then I married one. It makes you very bitter. You can only take care of yourself. Thankfully I chose not to inherit the same for myself. Prayers for them all.

I married an alcoholic -didn’t know until 2 months after marriage. Only difference is mines was FAR WORSE. Almost 2 years of me counseling and helping him right through, I lost the wonderful soul I was, I even attempting suicide before going to therapy. That man chose alcohol over his wonderful marriage. The best alcohol case I have watch, good job Judge Star. No mercy on them, because all they do is talk without action.
Addiction affects the WHOLE family not just the addict. I was married to one he stole from me, left me stranded, left the kids home alone in the middle of the night(while i worked), not come home for days & didnt always bring the money home. I had to leave him for my & my children's mental health & SO DOES SHE. P.S. He finally got the help he needed & is doing great #happilydivorced
Why because he's being emotional and made a plea for her to give him a second chance? If the wife had done the same would you be saying that, Every emotional male is not Violent or a psychopath, clearly you watch a lot of Crime shows.
Separation is best. He needs to be onboard with that idea and practice it. Get therapy and join a group. They both need to sit down with the family and iron out a plan that if he relapses, he can’t be around, but also develop a schedule where he sees his children regularly (only if he’s sober).
Let me say this: Whether you are a professional therapist or not, please stop thinking you can “help” a broken person that won’t help themselves. I’ve seen women become a shell of themselves trying to help a man that doesn’t help himself. FIND OUT ABOUT THE TRAUMA HE’S EXPERIENCED AND IF HE’S NOT COPING WITH LIFE WELL, LEAVE…. Stop having and putting children through unnecessary trauma. They don’t need that in their lives. Life is tough enough. Support is supposed to help a person get back on their feet, not recline them…..

This is so terribly sad…… she simply can’t take anymore. It’s more than a notion dealing with alcoholism in your family, let alone in your spouse. You’re not dealing with a spouse that can behave as a spouse should, but their addiction and the behavior that comes with it, and that makes for pure hell on earth!!!!!!!
He did acknowledge his addiction and all of his faults, but he needs more control. Maybe after a year. He needs to work on his relationship with his son. I pray he will stay sober. She never said he was abusive. Just drank all the time. Hopefully he will get his life together.
Abuse is not just putting hands on her though. It sounds like he was emotionally abusive and he also came across as a big time manipulator here. Add in the fact that he was trying to make his case to Robert the bailiff and not Star the judge, I think he has issues with respecting women. She needs to leave him, he needs mental help.
@@Aquaria2291- His behaviors stem from childhood trauma. We often forget every child doesn’t have the same coping skills and resilience as other children. And a wounded child becomes a wounded adult with childlike coping skills. This is why it’s imperative to get children help and out of traumatic environments.

Yes, I strongly believe that he needs a lot more therapy before he can be the best father he can be to his son and be the best he can be for HIMSELF and continue to move on with his life with better direction and guidance from God also. But it doesn't mean that he can't be forgiven AND forgive himself for his past choices, mistakes and actions as well. I would also commend him for stepping up and admitting on national TV his bad choices he made which is, in my opinion, a good step in the right direction. However, I cannot help but feel that the JUDGE was a bit too harsh on him while he is trying to be sincere, while in a state of vulnerability, he's doing all he could to try to make amends while trying to keep his family together. If it were me, I would rather go to a family therapist instead of going to a TV court just to boost their ratings.. Just Sayin
Acknowledging faults is the first step in self-accountibility. However, look at what it took for this man to finally get there. He had to lose his family on national TV. He was driven into admitting his weaknesses. Real healing happens when people feel the self-urgency to change all on their own. You don't force or ultimatum people into healing. That's not how that works. This man bypassed 1001 opportunities and open windows of healing and change. If he didn't feel the need to change, then when he literally watched his actions create destruction for himself and his family, what makes it any different now in the aftermath? His (ex?) wife 1001% made the correct move for herself and for their child. This man has plenty of wounded inner-child trauma on display. Until, and only until he has the internal drive and want to address that, nothing will change. Instead, he'll likely trade one addiction for another. Psychology matters.
The brokenness she feels surpasses his tears. Women can't coddle men anymore. That's the problem. It's not a good look for her nor her son. He's used to women bearing all the weight. Her life has worth and this is too much. The problem is coddling him too much. It's not fair to expect her to get weighed down further than what she already has. Just because she's not crying doesn't mean she's hurting less. Look in her eyes. She's gone. She has a child to take care of and keeping him hanging on is not helping. So often women suffer in silence. It's time for her to pick up the pieces and move on. She has suffered enough!

Judge Star is right about him coming in with proof off the rift and something to show and prove. I know what’s it’s like to go back and forth with an abuser and they had “tears” in their eyes and still repeated the behavior. But Judge Starr can see what’s up real well
Some can quit cold turkey, but most can’t. There usually are underlying traumas that are the catalyst for them to self medicate. Then, they don’t have appropriate coping skills to either.
That man went away for 70 days and was sober for that time. Judge Star should've offered marriage counseling at least. And telling this man that his tears don't matter is just rude and inconsiderate.
She's not a professionally licensed therapist. She has a show to host. I'm not justifying her words nor sentiment, just acknowledging she's not trained to hold neutrality, and she has an economic and contractual responsibility to entertain the show's viewers. She's running a business, not a session.
AGREED. I, also made a comment concerning this issue and I was thinking the same thing. I strongly believe that he needs to seek God first to set him straighten his life (and his family) THEN seek a Christian counselor who can help you spiritually and morally as well. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who's going through those issues. LEAN ON GOD AND HE'LL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

I absolutely agree with you, Judge Star could have assisted him with some counseling. I think that he missed the mark with this one because you have to think about both parties and what he is dealing with is real and can be a very fragile situation.
I disagree...Like the Judge said, he should have had those receipts with him to show his wife that he is ready to return home. Had he at LEAST came in with a new lease where they would not have to be living with family members then that would have been a start. But he is still combative and is not taking full responsibility. He gotta put on his big boy pants, He is a husband not a boyfriend and he should have came in with a "baby i got a place for us to live." Its sad but He has to learn that the choices you make not only affect you but affects your family. He has a son. What kind of example is he showing him, that he and his mom ain't good enough to at least have a roof over their head? Na, he gotta get it together. Them tears are a little too late. Love is an action word. There has not been enough time to heal especially for him and he is still dealing with 20 year old stuff that he probably has not even confided in her about. My best friends just went through this. But the difference is He put in the work and is still putting in the work and makes a comfortable place and is a stand up man for his wife and daughters. And this couple here on the show didn't have half the prollems that a lot of people have with cheating, taking money out of the home...he just decided that his wife and child didn't need a place to stay...bad decisions come at the bottom of pints and 5ths but you gotta stand on that and make moves that prove that you want real change. I feel y'all and understand his tears but Naw. He chose poorly. He gotta deal with that. Peace and love to all the DC fans. This was a hard one to watch.
That’s why I made the comment no tissues for men. We don’t know how people’s lives started and we also Don’t know if there was traumatic events happen to them in childhood that they never developed coping skills for. Offer the help, but ultimately, he has to want to take the help.
They are belittling him, badgering him, dismissing him. He feels attacked. 72 days sober and was waved off. He has no direction, no idea of how to fix it and no one providing a starting point or support. He was told what he should've done BEFORE he came in. Hard to fix something you don't know is broken, *especially if you're an addict.* He's crying out for help and he's told his tears don't matter 18:06. Way to offer him assistance. The wife has been through a lot and I feel for her. She has been neglected and is done. He has a long, long road ahead. I wish him the best of luck, especially for him to be there for his son.

I became an alcoholic during COVID. I used to be a social drinker. I was always the designated driver. Even though I came from a family of alcoholics I was always able to control it. And than came COVID and my whole life changed. Yes I still worked, I couldn’t afford not to. Now three years later and I become an alcoholic and all my meds increased. It’s so hard not to drink since everyone in my family is an alcoholic that I had to just not buy it PERIOD!!! “I will not be a Slave to my addiction. I refuse to be a Slave to alcohol. I Don’t need alcohol to live. So, I can exist without it. I keep reminding myself that Jesus died for me so that I wouldn’t have to be a slave to sin or anything or anyone except him. When I feel anxiety I exercise. It helps me relax. My goal is to go all of 2024 without a drink and decrease all my med again. And than for the rest of my life. Thank you for reading this. And please say a prayer for me.
I lived through DV and other things because my stepdad was an angry drunk and couldn’t hold his alcohol. He never got help and now, he’s been on dialysis for years along with a plethora of other issues. You would be surprised at the number of young people taking dialysis due to destroying their kidneys with alcohol.
I think he is now able to really SEE HOW DEEP the scars are that he made and realize that he is unfortunately throwing salt into those same wounds. this was a really good episode.
Judge Star is being too hard on him. I get that he's an alcoholic but he does have 72 days sober plus he's in therapy. I'm not feeling her with this one. She was wrong how she treated him. I didn't Ike that.

He was a drinker at first. That turned into alcoholism. He is a diabetic, most likely a diabetic before he was an alcoholic. He made those choices, choosing alcohol over his family. 72 days sober is a drop in the bucket compared to the years of alcoholism. Now he can feel real feelings, real emotions of what he's done because he is not drinking. Now that his wife filed for divorce, he most likely will end up on the wagon again. That's not her fault. If you have ever been around a person that drink excessively, it's no walk in the park. All an alcoholic care about is the bottle, that's it, nothing else. It will take him years of sobriety and rehab to turn himself around. 72 days is a start but the mind, body and spirit needs complete cleaning and healing, that takes years.

I was with an addicted for 2yrs and he was on drugs. Stayed with him thinking he would change, but of course I had to learn that I couldn’t change him. I left him and I’m glad I did.
I got a lot to say, starting off with this episode was so biased and I am beginning to see why people say Star is biased and I noticed it’s always towards men especially black men that come on the show, there has been numerous ppl on the show that have had drinking problems ruin the relationship and done way more outlandish things than this man did and don’t take accountability, but she has never treated them like she did this man, yes he has messed up and yes his wife has every choice to leave, even if that’s the case why kick him when he his down for only drinking literally the whole case was for drinking which he had stopped, she was going at him like the man personally did something to her or she has some sort of grudge/agenda against him, I am a super fan of divorce court and I have watched literally every episode and this one of the very few people that I believed was genuine and was just seeking help and wanting to change and also taking accountability for all his wrongs. This one of the things with women/human beings LIKE HER that make a lot of money or in a higher position they get a joy/kicker/power trip to kick down men just because they have been appointed a title that doesn’t really matter & worldly , Judge Lynn or even Judge Faith would have never ever went about it and handled this case like this, this was just unprofessional and felt personal this man felt so attacked that’s why he kept talking to Robert because it felt like a 2v1, If she is having a bad day that day leave it outside of work. There has been tons and tons of people who have done so much worst to each other or there partners and she has offered them counselling and advice , has well as additional help or giving them words of encouragement, the wife only described 3-4 events due to drinking which were not good but it’s not nothing that can’t be fixed and judge tore him apart. Especially the part “He has done nothing to show” meanwhile he his going to therapy , sober, spending more time with his kid, accountability, said the root of his problem, genuinely begged for forgiveness & actually doing the work to get better. Man long story short you don’t treat people like this especially those that need help and actually trying to get better.

He came to the show on national TV knowing that this was gonna happen so it was up to him to say no to the Chelle just because he’s in a Barnville place does not mean the truth did not happen. He did everything that they said he did no secrets.
Judge Star was absolutely correct on this one. I doubt Mr. Ingram has done ANYTHING to get sober. Everything his wife said, he tried to disagree with; then, realizing that he's supposed to be working a program, he suddenly "accepts responsibility". He argued with Star about whether he passed out drunk or passed out as a result of low blood sugar. All of that irrational arguing, then suddenly crying really makes me think he was half drunk right there in the courtroom. Judge Star's statement, that he should have come in with an AA chip and a lease for a new place, was on point. This man showed up with nothing but excuses and tears.
I think she would've forgave him if judge the judge wasn't so aggressive with him. I noticed they make a lot of their decisions based on the judges pre judging.
I loved and lived with a crack addict and it was pure hell, every day what I endured, It killed me to leave him but he destroyed me and my son and our daughter, I had to run for my life. He's been gone since 2016 and I still miss him so. I have drugs and alcohol for what they do to damaged souls. RIP Rodney, I'll always love you.

I try to be in a relationship for 11 years old. But the alcohol was too much. He was so abusive. I ended it. My uncle was an alcoholic he lost everything because of alcohol. He was a loving guy. He was a good uncle but he die because alcohol and froze to death. I hate alcohol. Glad this woman moved on. Hope this guy get help.

I’ve seen women become a shell of themselves trying to help a man that doesn’t help himself. FIND OUT ABOUT THE TRAUMA HE’S EXPERIENCED AND IF HE’S NOT COPING WITH LIFE WELL, LEAVE…. Stop having and putting children through unnecessary trauma. They don’t need that in their lives. Life is tough enough. Support is supposed to help a person get back on their feet, not recline them…..

❤I was married to an alcoholic and we had 2 children I loved him but couldn't take any more, after 15 years left, he got help stayed sober for the rest of our marriage. We were married 46years before I lost him to Brain cancer. We had a wonderful life after he got sober. Not perfect but wonderful

You’re not dealing with a spouse that can behave as a spouse should, but their addiction and the behavior that comes with it, and that makes for pure hell on earth!!!!!!!

And a wounded child becomes a wounded adult with childlike coping skills. This is why it’s imperative to get children help and out of traumatic environments.

Yes, I strongly believe that he needs a lot more therapy before he can be the best father he can be to his son and be the best he can be for HIMSELF and continue to move on with his life with better direction and guidance from God also. But it doesn't mean that he can't be forgiven AND forgive himself for his past choices, mistakes and actions as well.
I would also commend him for stepping up and admitting on national TV his bad choices he made which is, in my opinion, a good step in the right direction. However, I cannot help but feel that the JUDGE was a bit too harsh on him while he is trying to be sincere, while in a state of vulnerability, he's doing all he could to try to make amends while trying to keep his family together. If it were me, I would rather go to a family therapist instead of going to a TV court just to boost their ratings.. Just Sayin
Acknowledging faults is the first step in self-accountibility. However, look at what it took for this man to finally get there. He had to lose his family on national TV. He was driven into admitting his weaknesses. Real healing happens when people feel the self-urgency to change all on their own. You don't force or ultimatum people into healing. That's not how that works.
This man bypassed 1001 opportunities and open windows of healing and change. If he didn't feel the need to change, then when he literally watched his actions create destruction for himself and his family, what makes it any different now in the aftermath?
His (ex?) wife 1001% made the correct move for herself and for their child.
This man has plenty of wounded inner-child trauma on display. Until, and only until he has the internal drive and want to address that, nothing will change. Instead, he'll likely trade one addiction for another. Psychology matters.
The brokenness she feels surpasses his tears. Women can't coddle men anymore. That's the problem. It's not a good look for her nor her son. He's used to women bearing all the weight. Her life has worth and this is too much. The problem is coddling him too much. It's not fair to expect her to get weighed down further than what she already has. Just because she's not crying doesn't mean she's hurting less. Look in her eyes. She's gone. She has a child to take care of and keeping him hanging on is not helping. So often women suffer in silence. It's time for her to pick up the pieces and move on. She has suffered enough!

Some can quit cold turkey, but most can’t. There usually are underlying traumas that are the catalyst for them to self medicate. Then, they don’t have appropriate coping skills to either.

That man went away for 70 days and was sober for that time. Judge Star should've offered marriage counseling at least. And telling this man that his tears don't matter is just rude and inconsiderate.

I'm not justifying her words nor sentiment, just acknowledging she's not trained to hold neutrality, and she has an economic and contractual responsibility to entertain the show's viewers. She's running a business, not a session.
AGREED. I, also made a comment concerning this issue and I was thinking the same thing. I strongly believe that he needs to seek God first to set him straighten his life (and his family) THEN seek a Christian counselor who can help you spiritually and morally as well. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who's going through those issues. LEAN ON GOD AND HE'LL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

I absolutely agree with you, Judge Star could have assisted him with some counseling. I think that he missed the mark with this one because you have to think about both parties and what he is dealing with is real and can be a very fragile situation.
I disagree...Like the Judge said, he should have had those receipts with him to show his wife that he is ready to return home. Had he at LEAST came in with a new lease where they would not have to be living with family members then that would have been a start. But he is still combative and is not taking full responsibility. He gotta put on his big boy pants, He is a husband not a boyfriend and he should have came in with a "baby i got a place for us to live." Its sad but He has to learn that the choices you make not only affect you but affects your family. He has a son. What kind of example is he showing him, that he and his mom ain't good enough to at least have a roof over their head? Na, he gotta get it together. Them tears are a little too late. Love is an action word. There has not been enough time to heal especially for him and he is still dealing with 20 year old stuff that he probably has not even confided in her about. My best friends just went through this. But the difference is He put in the work and is still putting in the work and makes a comfortable place and is a stand up man for his wife and daughters. And this couple here on the show didn't have half the prollems that a lot of people have with cheating, taking money out of the home...he just decided that his wife and child didn't need a place to stay...bad decisions come at the bottom of pints and 5ths but you gotta stand on that and make moves that prove that you want real change. I feel y'all and understand his tears but Naw. He chose poorly. He gotta deal with that. Peace and love to all the DC fans. This was a hard one to watch.

He has no direction, no idea of how to fix it and no one providing a starting point or support. He was told what he should've done BEFORE he came in. Hard to fix something you don't know is broken, *especially if you're an addict.* He's crying out for help and he's told his tears don't matter 18:06. Way to offer him assistance. The wife has been through a lot and I feel for her. She has been neglected and is done. He has a long, long road ahead. I wish him the best of luck, especially for him to be there for his son.

I became an alcoholic during COVID. I used to be a social drinker. I was always the designated driver. Even though I came from a family of alcoholics I was always able to control it. And than came COVID and my whole life changed. Yes I still worked, I couldn’t afford not to. Now three years later and I become an alcoholic and all my meds increased. It’s so hard not to drink since everyone in my family is an alcoholic that I had to just not buy it PERIOD!!! “I will not be a Slave to my addiction. I refuse to be a Slave to alcohol. I Don’t need alcohol to live.
So, I can exist without it. I keep reminding myself that Jesus died for me so that I wouldn’t have to be a slave to sin or anything or anyone except him. When I feel anxiety I exercise. It helps me relax. My goal is to go all of 2024 without a drink and decrease all my med again. And than for the rest of my life. Thank you for reading this. And please say a prayer for me.

I lived through DV and other things because my stepdad was an angry drunk and couldn’t hold his alcohol. He never got help and now, he’s been on dialysis for years along with a plethora of other issues. You would be surprised at the number of young people taking dialysis due to destroying their kidneys with alcohol.

it's new to me, I hadn't saw this one.
He was a drinker at first. That turned into alcoholism. He is a diabetic, most likely a diabetic before he was an alcoholic. He made those choices, choosing alcohol over his family. 72 days sober is a drop in the bucket compared to the years of alcoholism. Now he can feel real feelings, real emotions of what he's done because he is not drinking. Now that his wife filed for divorce, he most likely will end up on the wagon again. That's not her fault. If you have ever been around a person that drink excessively, it's no walk in the park. All an alcoholic care about is the bottle, that's it, nothing else. It will take him years of sobriety and rehab to turn himself around. 72 days is a start but the mind, body and spirit needs complete cleaning and healing, that takes years.

I got a lot to say, starting off with this episode was so biased and I am beginning to see why people say Star is biased and I noticed it’s always towards men especially black men that come on the show, there has been numerous ppl on the show that have had drinking problems ruin the relationship and done way more outlandish things than this man did and don’t take accountability, but she has never treated them like she did this man, yes he has messed up and yes his wife has every choice to leave, even if that’s the case why kick him when he his down for only drinking literally the whole case was for drinking which he had stopped, she was going at him like the man personally did something to her or she has some sort of grudge/agenda against him, I am a super fan of divorce court and I have watched literally every episode and this one of the very few people that I believed was genuine and was just seeking help and wanting to change and also taking accountability for all his wrongs. This one of the things with women/human beings LIKE HER that make a lot of money or in a higher position they get a joy/kicker/power trip to kick down men just because they have been appointed a title that doesn’t really matter & worldly , Judge Lynn or even Judge Faith would have never ever went about it and handled this case like this, this was just unprofessional and felt personal this man felt so attacked that’s why he kept talking to Robert because it felt like a 2v1, If she is having a bad day that day leave it outside of work. There has been tons and tons of people who have done so much worst to each other or there partners and she has offered them counselling and advice , has well as additional help or giving them words of encouragement, the wife only described 3-4 events due to drinking which were not good but it’s not nothing that can’t be fixed and judge tore him apart. Especially the part “He has done nothing to show” meanwhile he his going to therapy , sober, spending more time with his kid, accountability, said the root of his problem, genuinely begged for forgiveness & actually doing the work to get better. Man long story short you don’t treat people like this especially those that need help and actually trying to get better.

Judge Star was absolutely correct on this one. I doubt Mr. Ingram has done ANYTHING to get sober. Everything his wife said, he tried to disagree with; then, realizing that he's supposed to be working a program, he suddenly "accepts responsibility". He argued with Star about whether he passed out drunk or passed out as a result of low blood sugar. All of that irrational arguing, then suddenly crying really makes me think he was half drunk right there in the courtroom. Judge Star's statement, that he should have come in with an AA chip and a lease for a new place, was on point. This man showed up with nothing but excuses and tears.

I loved and lived with a crack addict and it was pure hell, every day what I endured, It killed me to leave him but he destroyed me and my son and our daughter, I had to run for my life. He's been gone since 2016 and I still miss him so. I have drugs and alcohol for what they do to damaged souls. RIP Rodney, I'll always love you.

I try to be in a relationship for 11 years old. But the alcohol was too much. He was so abusive. I ended it. My uncle was an alcoholic he lost everything because of alcohol. He was a loving guy. He was a good uncle but he die because alcohol and froze to death. I hate alcohol. Glad this woman moved on. Hope this guy get help.
