    We had a professor at University who said essentially almost every 2 minute during lecture so i had the students in my nanophysics class bet on how many times the professer said essentially during lecture... He cought on during lecture as every time he said essentially everyone made a note.. He figured it out and essentially he tried not saying essentially and it messed up his whole presentation. He was mad and embarrassed at same time it was hilarious. The next lecture he was prepared and didn't say essentially once. And was so mad at and of lecture as everyone was saying essentially this and essentially that.. Aww the good ole days.

    Of course, this is now a little dated. Barnard's Star has one confirmed planet. I'm sorry that this list didn't include the larger red dwarf Lalande 21185. This star may have planets and is more quiescent than flare stars like Proxima and Wolf 359. As a rule of thumb, the older and more massive a red dwarf is, the less it is prone to flaring.

    The Borg are very interesting.
    I figure they are the result of a massive social experiment to see how much more efficient they could be with an innate means to communicate and cooperate, and this was so successful that they became dependent on that, discarding individuality.

      i know

    • @alexeyvlasenko6622
      @alexeyvlasenko6622 8 лет назад +13

      "Black dwarf" is a term for a white dwarf that has lost all its internal heat. These don't exist yet, because the time it takes for a white dwarf to cool down completely is much longer than the current age of the Universe. The coldest white dwarfs in existence probably have temperatures of about 3000 kelvins, still much hotter than a brown dwarf.

    I like your videos fine without caps.

    • @winterweib
      @winterweib 8 лет назад +5

      I do not care if caps or not. I am happy for that video, no matter if it would be described in cursive, kyrill, or wahtever :)

    • @Sam-oz8pn
      @Sam-oz8pn 8 лет назад +4

      Sometimes people think caps are clickbait so they *don't* click it, and caps makes it seem less official. If you have your motives I'm missing go ahead, this is just my opinion, as a viewer.

    • @winterweib
      @winterweib 8 лет назад +2

      I did not know this, I thought you just dislike caps, like some people say it is like 'crying' something. I see you feel offended somehow, well, I am sorry for this. I never heard about it could mean clickbait, as I said. Why it should make it less official, is not clear to me, but if others think so... Okay.

    • @Sam-oz8pn
      @Sam-oz8pn 8 лет назад +3

      It's not too offensive to me, since I know he makes great videos, but with others it's offensive. It seems less official because most caps titles are for bad videos. Also, most papers and essays, etc are written in non all caps (unless it's like the font, which is not this case)
      I like his channel and don't want his reputation damaged just because some people (like me) judge on titles. winterweib

    I think it was the first time I heard (or maybe I did hear it before, who knows, but did not care for it or so?) that you english speakers say 2012 as 'Twenty-twelve'.
    Before we entered the new century, we had lots of discussions here, how we would call the new time, if we would say 'Zwanzighundert' (what would be the way you say now), since it was Neunzehnhundert... before, or not. And now it is called Twothousandand... and to me it sounds so- well, not wrong, but so Onethousand...ish, you know? As if thousand years would not have existed. It sounds like medivals to me, too. I cannot explain. I would have prefered if we would say twentyhundredanything, too, after we left Nineteenhundredninety-nine. Twentyhundred would have tied at the Nineteenhundred, and twothousand ties at the onethousand.

    • @kueller917

    How do we know the distance of stars 🌟

    • @ljdean1956
      @ljdean1956 6 лет назад

      We measure them by observing parallax. Essentially take two measurements. One in say January, the other June assuming the star is visible both months. Since the baseline of the measurement is 186 million miles, you can see a slight difference in stellar distance. Kind of like holding your finger in front of your nose and blinking your eyes back and forth. Your finger seems to move relative to more distant objects. This technique works for stars within about 500 LY of earth. Beyond that, other techniques are used.

    wouldn't it be better to compare red dwarfs to other red dwarfs. Proxima Centaurii understand comparing to the sun but after wards shouldn't we compared to Proxima Centauri. I really get annoyed at all this comparison to our sun all the dam time. It does not help especially here when we are talking about smaller stars. We need size differences. People dont even understand how big the sun actually is for one or how far away each planet is from each other.

  • @mahdsaed
    @mahdsaed 5 лет назад

    Inaccurate of of how longer proxima centauri will be close to us when you said ...and it will be close to us for a couple of moe years... Stars change distances between themselves as they rotate around the center of their galaxies ,in around, as in our milky way , every 225 milion years
    So a generous guess will give proxima a few millennia, give or take, to loose it's rank as closest star to us
