Yeah, RUclips views are quite a huge deal to most Kpop stans, mainly because it's somewhat a determining factor or "status symbol" if the group is relevant or not. And there's this thing called Music Shows in South Korea where Kpop groups/artists compete for a trophy, and some percentage of the points are from RUclips views that's why you can see them keeping track of the views. even on alcohol-free when i first watched it there were mostly just comments of people tracking the views and i saw quite a few comments ( not sure if they we're on the same video or not ) listing all the members on order of which were their favourite ( which is totally fine to do idk why it wouldn't be, again, i just found it weird ) and some just listing just random k pop groups or singers.

Yeah, RUclips views are quite a huge deal to most Kpop stans, mainly because it's somewhat a determining factor or "status symbol" if the group is relevant or not. And there's this thing called Music Shows in South Korea where Kpop groups/artists compete for a trophy, and some percentage of the points are from RUclips views that's why you can see them keeping track of the views. The Kpop community can be quite toxic because of that as they treat it as a competition. Nice to see you're enjoying TWICE's music!
