Nice car! From 1986 to 1992 I worked at our local Ford dealer and would on occasion do pre-delivery on new cars. My favorites to do were of course, Mustangs with the 5.0 ( GT or LX ) and SVOs. I've always liked the fox body mustang, it has clean simple lines. It may not be a power house like my sons ' 21 Mustang GT, but at that time horsepower was finally on the up swing. I'm almost 60 and remember well the oil embargo's, ever increasing insurance rates, and EPA mandates that killed American performance cars. The fox body Mustangs were at the forefront of bringing back performance cars and should be remembered as such, along with the other famous marks from other automakers.
Truly 1 of the best if not the best sounding engines with a simple Flowmaster or Borla or Magnaflow exhaust system. I have headers too and it is loud! Also those 2 door Lexus sound like Indy cars!
Ford really held back on the horsepower on them 302s. My tip for looks. If you get a 88-93 GT switch the taillights with the LX models and put a cobra rear bumper looks way better. Those also sound awesome with flowmasters. I had no issues with 4.10 rear end in a automatic. Dang the memories. 😢
I appreciate your support and effort. But you need too check up on the history of your subject.the 1982 mustang GT 5.0 was the beginning of the resurgence of the foxbody! That year started what we have now!! But nice video
No problem my man! I'm not out here too bad mouth any one!! Us foxbody owners really love tooting our own horns! And we should!! Because we have what we think are the finest hotrods ever built!! WE CAN BUILD 98% OF A WHOLE CAR FROM A FLIPPING MAGAZINE!! LOOK AT THE SUPPLY AFTERMARKET PARTS AVAILABILITY.!! Now here's my ride. A 1982 mustang GT 5.0 black on red hatchback. A numbers matching survivor car . 98% bone stock! Yessiree it's got the 4 SP ( well it's a 3 spd with overdrive ) SROD transmission. 75,000 miles on it. I'm the 2nd owner . I bought it from the original owner, a friend of mine ( she was a 75 year old grandma) . it was stored in a heated garage for 32 yrs) SO NO RUST ON IT . (Except some very minor surface rust here and there). No accidents never been bent ,twisted or hotrodded in any way shape means or form. The only parts not stock on it are the rims. It came with 10 holes. I wish she would have at least kept the stock TRX rims. But we all know that those are wallet busters for the tires. ( Down payment on a house) I will still look for a set so I can have em. I've been buying all the replacement parts for my car that are going bad. In starting at the front bumper and going too the back one. Anything and that is bad will be replaced. If I have too think twice about a part I buy a new one!!! My car has been pampered . So it looks great. Minor door dings from parking lot A HOLES. Thank you sir. And I love your car!!
Prices these days are wild, last fox I bought was an estate sale 83 GT T Tops 23,000 miles red interior $2500 in 2010, before that 85 Gt 2007 $1200 back then people were giving away 4eyes for nothing ……. Those were the days I should have bought 5 more and a Capri
Yup I got a clean low mile 86 GT for $2500 in 98. Still got it. Got a ratty one for $700 about a year later. Had a Capri RS 1980 I got for $1700 def wish I had that back
Correct and it wasn't 120 horse that was the 80-81 cars the 82 was first year of the 5.0 badge and 157 hp it was known was "return of the boss" at the time it was the quickest mustang since the muscle car era.
81 was the year they lowered displacement and all that and it was enemic.. the 82 was actually the first year they had 5.0 badges and was known as the return of performance at 157 hp which was good for the time for its weight. You was one year off you was saying the crap year was 82.
The only way I see one of these being worth 25k or more would be a extremely low I mean low mileage original mint condition gt now a clean cobra or the rare stuff maybe but not a driver quality run of the mill gt
@@mayhemfitness878 not really man here in south Carolina they are a dime a dozen you can find nice examples for 5k or less hell I just picked up a clean 90 gt sun roof car for 300 bucks literally 300 bucks rust free with a clean title the prices of foxbodys are coming back down to reality lol they shot up in value during covid for some reason even Sho went up by a few grand
I have an 87 notch, I bought brand new, yeah they are not a great looking car, but the fun factor heavily outweighs its look. Plus, it's the most reliable car I've ever owned. 👍

Need to take that Yard!!!! Car might've looked better
I've never heard anyone speak as fast as you do. Where are you from? No disrespect intended.
Boston. No disrespect taken. My wife tells me to slow down all the time

That’s right. The market for low mileage is around $25k. Really clean low mileage went for big money at the auctions this year

1989 started the 140mph cluster 🙄
Yes mid way through the year. First half of the year was still 85.
Always thought foxbodys were ugly, still do

They don't look great stock but alot of mustangs don't look great stock. Modified nicely they can be badass.
Y’all crazy. GTs are beautiful
