They don't make 'em like this anymore. This is what happens when an artist really feels their music. When meaningful art is the priority as opposed to just making a "hit" and getting famous, this is what you get.

Holy cow, I am actually going to be divorced, and my husband isn’t mine anymore.....it has all already happened.....here we are....my God it is devastating.
This powerful song enabled me to finally let go after listening to this every chance I could for days/weeks. Then finally I realized I was able to let go. Thank you Michael for sharing your incredible gift!

Yes, Michael McDonald is a poet, just one who happens to have an incredible soulful voice to go with it, and in some ways this has been his biggest distraction - its easier to sing than it is to write - Mike's words not mine. Personally I wish he would write more instead of covering Motown songs and Christmas favourites (more recently), beautiful as these are. I appreciate though that he has other priorities that come first (like family). Thanks for posting
