Eating a lot of sugar doesn’t cause diabetes. I’m diabetic and it runs in both sides of my family.
@@windmagelita Well, diabetes can caused by too much sugar. But you can get it if it runs in your family.
@Lord Macaron diabetes is caused by either type 1 the pancreas doesn’t produce insulin to allow the sugar to enter the blood cells so it can be transferred all over the body for energy. Or type 2 ( the type I have) where the pancreas either doesn’t make enough insulin or ( I my case) the body doesn’t use the insulin that is made. Yes it runs in the family . But eating too much sugar doesn’t cause diabetes. Though eating too much sugar can cause problems such as bladder infections that can help diagnose diabetes.
@windmagelita Yeah, I get you. I had this friend who had type 1 diabetes and was in the hospital for 2 weeks.
Type 2 diabetes usually runs in the family, but can also be caused by eating extra sugar/not eating healthy. For example my mother was a fairly healthy woman and she got diabetes when she was pregnant with me. I personally don't have it but tons of my family does.
