The good part with real time canvas is that it costs nothing, in credits, as long as you don't click on upscale image.
Contrary to the main image generator menu which is a bit like a lottery, you get to preview your image before paying for it.
I have mentioned that to the Leonardo team, telling them that it would be nice to have a preview, even a rough one, of the image before generating it...

The live canvas and live gen can be used totally free - until you you use the upscale option. But that means essentially you can tweak and work until you're happy (it will be rough) - upscale to polish it and you only use your tokens when upscaling (you get upto 150 tokens free per day)

Krea is much better and more convenient (brush editor, duplicating objects - very useful functions, better quality of graphics, no censorship)
