Thank you @GiantGrantGames for being my inspiration for this type of content, I basically copied your style lol Игры
i love that every single person that plays the campaign more than once goes for 175 rather than frozen forest
Silicon is money
... i have never once in my life done that. but ive realized its potentcy of loot and therefore
*I GO TO 175!*
Yes
Ground Zero is the tutorial level, it only has copper and lead (and scrap). So it teaches the use of turrets. And once you are done with the tutorial, experienced players just wanna go and continue. But frozen forest is like a second tutorial, but for factories. So most players just wanna skip it. (Like myself :/)
yea rushing it would be very boring :/
This is possibly the best tower defense game I’ve ever played
Lol agreed
wave defense, not tower defense
@@MarcusAseth ?
What's the difference?
@@Shadow_Warrior_ literally nothing, this dude think he albert einstein
@@Xenylard wave defense games are classified as games like decaying winter, zombie games, etc. But mindustry would probably a combination of two, thats why its called a sandbox tower defense game, it uses towers but the free placement of them makes it a sandbox TD. Hope that clears it out even tho this is completely useless information no one will care about
y'know, the concept of tower defense games where the player can intervene has always been an interesting one to me
nice to see dungeon defenders isn't the only game with this concept
I'm glad my video has reached someone outside the mindustry community!
If you like 'hero tower defense' games check out the orcs must die series too!
Mindustry is also an rts btw
I think Kingdom Rush series is also another one of these kind of TD that you can intervene, using Hero units.
@@Urkikk a little, but not as much as these... kingdom rush is one of the more standard tower defense games. (Dont get me wrong though, it's really fun)
Fun fact, you don't need to destroy the building and rebuilding it, just deconstruct it for 1 second then construct it again! It saves major time in high level sectors

That's definitely not something any person would think about
@@thelol6802 yea I will admit, this is very, weirdly, specific
@@googlygoo4575 it's not just weirdly specific, it's the most specific thing i have ever seen someone type.
Oh man, seeing how you handled Nuclear Production Complex makes me bot embarrassed and proud at how I did it. I was basically just sending cores to die and fill up a bunch of vaults, so that when I started an actual run, I had resources! But then I got the Outpost, and just shipped them from my base in someplace or another. Note that I didn't actually produce anything in the map.
So when the t5 came, I shat my pants when it started busting right through my four layer thick plastanium walls. I thought I was gonna go boom, but in some miraculous quirk of the AI, it seemed to want to kill me more than the core. So I just kited it away by a couple inches at a time, building Cyclones fast as I could without any Polys or whatnot. I managed to kill that rat bastard by the skin of my teeth, got the advancements the sector gave me, and never fuckin returned to that hellhole after I noticed the four attack bases right next to it.
That's actually very similar to the way I had to beat it for the first time too 😅 I really wasn't prepared for the eclipse at the end and I too ended up spamming panick cyclones to kill it haha
I did a wierdly similar thing, instead of sending in the resources as cores and letting them die, i set up a massive vault storage area in another map capable of storing ad then exporting several tens of thousands of all resources... then i just skip there and export immediately at the start. I did some very crazy things with processors too hehe lemme know if it sounds interesting.
@@nyscersul42 I'm listening 👀
@@googlygoo4575 Well, for one the backbone of the entire campaign for me was a single processor capable of identifying and supplying any factory of any kind with all resources, with no code edits. Everything defined via the links set, this works great for the conveyor-less base setup. Then, they are also capable of capturing and using any type of unit which i deem appropriate for hauling, all whilst not using the flags system, and not conflicting with other processors. They even release their units when the core can no longer supply or receive from the current factory, or, container - you can also program the same processor using only links and sorters or inverted sorters to dictate what items would be collected/delivered to a container or vault, meaning you can in the endgame have something like an oct handling the transportation of resources into and from a vault, which then supplies and receives from a complex of factories, allowing you to make use of the biggest hauler cargobays effectively. And, thats just one processor.
@@googlygoo4575 The above processor can supply any complex or factory, including unit factories. Only limitation is liquid, which must be piped manually.
Mate just saying I remember there's a button which allows you to stop time and plan yoru builds before advancing further. I found this very useful since I'm not good at microing. This small trick could save you tons of time and you might find it handy. Just saying.
Yea I do know about that 😅 and if you look closely in certain parts of the video you'll notice that I do use it, but I just forget a lot of the time in the heat of the moment lol
@@googlygoo4575 as an avid player of mindustry, I press space any time I sense something bad happening lol, I do this so much I do this in other games too on accident
Also I don’t recommend using flares on defense, they have super low hp
@@tetra8157 lol I could see that happening. I play multiplayer most of the time tho so that's why it's not as engrained in my mind as it perhaps should be

Damn thanks man! That's so nice to hear, I'm really glad you think that. I'm working on my next video still, but life has gotten in the way so progress is slow. I've had such great feedback from this video and I hope the next one will be received just as well!
@@googlygoo4575 awesome! is the next video gonna be a mindustry one?
@@lennertplayz yup!
Here's a tip for new players:
The enemies will always choose the shortest path to their target (your core) so you can place more walls where there are less powerful towers so they will go to the powerful towers and get totally obliterated, you can use this to manipulate their pathfinding
Edit: Flares, Horizons and Zenith target power, production and storage blocks respectively, you can put an empty reactor, vault and graphite press to manipulate those
Making a hole in your defense with defenses guarding it would also work, even without the thicc walls.
Flares, Horizons, and Zenith target Power, Production, and Storage blocks respectively, so put an empty reactor, an empty vault, and probably a graphite press to manipulate them.
@@PhDoggo im going to edit the comment and add this
and, one more thing. Horizons and Zeniths target power, too, but it's only 2nd in their list.
AntuBRUHs and Eclipses like power, like their t1 counterpart.
For some reason, they(the whole flare tree) don't target power sources and instead go for generators, reactors, and solar panels.
Some units ignore walls and go for the paths with the least powerfully defense killed me a few time on overgrowth.
@PHDoggo generators reactors and panels are power sources.
ngl for a rather small youtuber / streamer this is a damn good video.
Imma make lots more! Thank ya

ah yes, the main character of mindustry, the sharted
I Watched this video thinking you were a popular mindustry youtuber, but to my surprise you only have 300! You deserve better, great content, and gave me great strategies for my campaign.
First playthrough ever I've seen of mindustry.
Imma take some inspiration from your base, I hadn't thought of many clever things you did.
I have a few suggestions: 1. Make schematics/download them from online 2. Make use of launch pads and import your resources from a launch sector that mass produces resources and launches to a sector so you can leech off of other sectors 3. Launch with core schemes to save time
It wasn't stated anywhere in the video but I wasn't using schematics for this run. And I did use launch pads here and there but they weren't super relevant to the challenge aspect of the run so I didn't give them any spotlight in the video
Not once have I played this game, but you made it fun and entertaining. Plus the challenge was chaos thank you!
Well thank you for checking it out!
dude this is one of the best mindustry videos ive ever seen
thank you so much! when i posted it I was overthinking and worried it wasnt good enough, but the feedback i've gotten on it is very uplifting! But there are some things I wish I'd change... ahh well. Live and learn.
It will be difficult without turrets as they are essential for defense and have some unique attributes. For example artillery turrets such as the ripple can be used to jinx the enemy defense and attack them without the range to fight back, allowing your units to be unharmed and succesfully breach the hostile base
i would love to see more challenges like this! really good work.
Thank you so much!
If you decide to go back to Mindustry, press B and select whatever has been destroyed. Its the rebuild button - it has saved me hours of remaking silicone (siligone) factories.
Yea that's a new feature. It wasn't a thing when making this video unfortunately 🙃
@@googlygoo4575I don’t think it was actually. You used command mode in your run - a V7 feature. V7 also features the rebuild function.
honestly this seems like a very cool idea for a 'TD' game in general. Very few, if any, towers, but having to make armies of Units and using unique hero-types (such as the builder drone here) to fight off enemy armies.

I haven't played this game since July, I should pick it up again.
Side note this has also taught me I need to stop being so stingy with the resources I bring, normally I want to just ration what I brought with me until I get resources replacing what I'm using but I should really use what I bring more than I currently do.
I also didn't know about spore bombing.
Yea when I play campaign I typically just fill the core to the brim. Often many of the resources don't get used, but it's not a big deal really.
But I'm glad my video taught you something!

Oh dang! Well thanks for coming back to it! But yea I'm really glad how much I've grown in the past few months
Can you play the Erekir campaign? It is much harder, but is made to be less turret focused and more unit focused. You WILL have to redo sectors multiple times to complete it. Almost everyone I know that played Erekir had to. Good Luck!

Finally a quality Mindustry youtuber.
For planetary launch terminal, well I cleared it without building a single thing. Simply prebuild a core schematic that can defend it self (I used plastasium cyclone), a horizon factory, 2 RTG generator and a overdrive projector. Also a logic processor to make horizons automaticaly pick up blast compound. Then just control those horizon to bomb those enemy vaults near their core. Core go boom before wave 1 can even spawn.
That is really really good to know! I might use that in future challenge runs, but for this one specifically I wasn't using schematics at all (it wasn't stated in the video at all lol) thanks tho!
@@googlygoo4575 I believe you're playing on the v7 campaign? In V6 blast bombing was op and was the main speedrun way to destroy cores but it's been severely nerfed in v7. You can do your own testing on it but I think it's not as good anymore. Give it a shot in a sandbox map tho, maybe it's still viable
@@johnjelee8905 that's correct, V7

221 is more underrated than 175 imo, I know 175 is good but 221 is a beast of a resource sector comparatively, tons of resources and you can manufacture literally everything except thorium products there thanks to oil pools
Well 175 is the same tbh. Not too much of a difference. But hey if you like it more then more power to you!
next time make an erekir run with only tanks
i really liked the new blocks, it also brings back the old energy distribution from classic and gives a whole other feeling from serpulo, however it's much more linear and smaller than serpulo.
Now the only thing that is left is erekir
I could do Erekir, but I don't find it very challenging without turrets so I probably won't make a video on it tbh
Since units are so early its way to easy
Yea exactly
I am a little late but it would be cool if you add sector 24 into it as it is also renowned as one of the hardest sectors in mindustry.
Oh I didn't know that at all! I could definitely include it in the next challenge I do. Thanks for the suggestion!
Now I feel less bad for dying to it 5 times so far.
The other north sectors would be interesting to watch too
@@ehawhar I watch ur vids :) and true
I don't feel Sec 24 is actually hard, more that it requires a loadout. It's kinda like PLT : If you've ever played on it with no loadout, you'll quickly realize it's not actually possible, but if you even get the tiniest of loadouts, you can get through the early game and the usual difficulty scaling flaw of the camapign ends up making the map super easy.
Sector 24 is an increase of this kind of effect, where a huge loadout is needed so that you can setup proper defences for the early game (which is otherwhise impossible to get through), but gets easier afterwards and does not require much skill with defense placement (Which is currently the thing that actually requires skill to build properly).
The video is fun and pretty engaging but feels a bit empty at moments, maybe consider adding a bit of music in the background?
I never saw this game before but you made interested in it : )
Thank you! But I agree yea, I actually uploaded the wrong file by accident. Do it with eriekr
Would you be interested to see some rather interesting mindustry processor builds? For example, the majority of my campaign is set up to run without conveyors, no long ones at least, only like a few blocks to link adjacent buildings. Then there is my taxi system - a unit is able to literally upload a taxi request and is then delivered to a chosen place on the map - designed to be compatible with other unit control facilities. Then there is the experimental stuff - one of which consists of a building pathfinder able to build pylons between two positions whilst avoiding and going around obstructions. The backbone of my campaign is a multi-unit-type capable factory identifier and supplier, capable of either running a single factory with one plane, bot, or anything that flies, for example one unit can supply a surge alloy facility without needing setup. Just link the processor and the factory, and it goes. Or, it can run in a specific mode where it only transports to containers, but can be configured. It could be told to deliver the requirements for two different factories into one container, with one plane. And finally, it can even identify and supply unit factories, and, can run in massively parrallel applications with no worries about conflicting orders. There is even an orchestrated army combat ai, which shares enemy location details and summons units to attack them, and, it remembers anything that has been seen, but not killed. It functions like initially a big fat group of units which attack en masse, only then you see individuals retreating for repairs, and once the incoming bots stop incoming, and the local bots in range are dead, then you see the units chase down any stragglers who managed to pass over your defences whilst they were busy. So... unit's only is completely doable, and, fun. :D
Wow that seems pretty insane.
I've dabbled a bit in mindustry's logic and made some useful stuff, but yours is on a different level completely lol
I'm very interested in seeing it if ur willing to show it!

fungal pass used to be possible to clear with the dart in less than 5 minutes. the first core is easy, then you chip away at the scatters to the right of the 2nd core. this opens up an area you can sit to kill the duos, then the final core. the defenses and unit production on start are sufficient defense. i dont know if this is still possible, though
Nah it isn't unfortunately. The core unit's damage vs. buildings has been nerfed significantly. It's almost impossible to kill anything with it other than units now
@@googlygoo4575 you don't take out the scatters and duos themselves. You take out their ammo conveyors, and strafe their shots until they're empty. But yeah, taking the turrets out themselves would take way too long
