Love them Hoske, little bit of a gallop in the carb sync maybe cables not matching tension. I have Zeuna's on my modded RT and they scream well. Just got vintage Milan Racing megs for my Hoske style tank /5. Lots of period stuff still around.
It's the short wheel basend the seat is from Corbin. The seat looks great but if you're not familiar with Corbin's they take a while to break in, it's a pretty hard seat.
Good ear, yes, with the bike on the centerstand and the shock in its softest setting the rear wheel is unloaded making the shock vibrate agains the shock cover. Once your sitting on the bike or its on the side stand its not an issue.
HD poseur, Wow, that takes some balls. If you bothered to look at the video you would have noticed a set of Mikuni's installed, the pipes were selected to increase the performance, better pull in the low to mid range power and it worked.
I am still on YT, those are Albert mirrors, no special Mount needed. They Mount through the headlight tabs, in place of the standard headlight Mount bolts. Hope this helps you out, let me know if I can answer any other questions.
They are Bridgestone BT45's, great tires but I'll be going back to the Spitfire S11's when these whear out. I think the BT45's are over kill for this bike you get better wear out of the S11's without that much drop in performance.
Very nice 75/5 congrats! What type of Mikuni carbs did you put on the bike? It seems the engine runs better, I mean with less inertia than with the original Bing carbs.
Those are Mikuni 32's, the kit was purchased from Rocky Point Cycles, link below. The kit comes with all the throttle cable, intake tubes and jetted to your specs.www.rockypointcycle.com/c-bmw12_mikuni_carb_kits.html
I had an argument with my mechanical engineering teacher about what a Bmw r75 is, he said it was this…….when I was trying to tell him it was a ww2 german Bmw with a sidecar I still don't know what to think.
Sure, findng these is getting harder and harder, try Bobs BMW. Look under the Classic Airheads\Reproduction & Alternate Parts. For some reason You Tube will not let me past in the website. Good Luck, Rich
Awesome looking /5. If you're interested in doing another upgrade here is a video link about a /5 magneto ignition conversion that I did recently. Cheers. /watch?v=mwrWYAKXM68

I restored my 72 R75 toaster, got most of my parts from Smayer in germany- including the denfeld solo seat...looks like that only a little more fitted.
Super
Great looking bike, sounds brill.
love the classy look youve put on it..

Thanks, the battery cover will go right on, make sure you secure them to each other with a small bungie or safety strap.
Rich I still hope you're on RUclips, let's talk about your mirrors I love them are those aftermarket mounted?

My dream bike.
Hey Rich, what brand are those mirrors?..I 'd like to get a set instead of Barends.
Is that a long wheel base or short wheel base? Where did you get the seat?
Hi, Beautiful bike! I'm restoring one myself and wondering where you got those great mirrors? Thanks!
Very nice 75/5 congrats!

Thanks for the links and info, really appreciated!
hey its it okay to have a every day bike like this? i live in nyc so i want to drive it summer&winter time isn't any problem ?
Nice bike. Just wondering, is it possible to put bigger and fatter tires on those wheels?
Thanks, you have to be careful about clearance at the rear swing arm. Of course the wider tires will effect handling, especially "Turn In"
Damn this SWB is sweet. I can't wait to get the Hoskes for my 71. Does the battery cover snap into the SWB, or is that a customization?
What kind of seat is this? And where can i get one? i have a BMW r65 and want that kind of seat! :)
It's a Corbin Gunfighter, not sure they make one for the R65, worth a call to them though.corbin.com/bmw/

Jimmy, the WWII BMW R75 is a side car rig, two wheel drive. The street bike is the R75/5 model which ran from 1969 through 1973.
more info on the seat, is it a direct replacement for the stock ??
Mario, its a Corbin Gunfighter, it does come with the proper seat pan for short wheelbase or long wheelbase, just specify. corbin.com/bmw/
Rich Heritage thanks
