absolutely love this collaboration. you guys each focus on such different things on your channels, but you are both great presenters, and you both clearly love bike racing. Always fun.
As a new cyclist, your pull to bring back the break was insane, being able to hold 550w for that long is amazing to me (as a mere mortal) I'm absolutely gobsmacked.
tactical and strategic; after 3 years norcal cycling revisits his "buddy"... blaze ahead on the world tour content Lanterne!! you're crushing it and providing great analysis. dont get played!
I think a great video idea would be for Lantern Rouge to host you, Jeff, on his channel and do some commentary on a professional cycling race with the pros. Or vice versa where you post the video on your channel.
Am really enjoying this channel! I am getting excited to get back on my bike this year. I have only been a part of a few group rides, and usually solo ride. I am wondering if you would be willing to do a deep dive into signalling and body movements? I'd like to start doing some group rides, but don't want to be the rider others don't want to follow because I don't know the rules. I appreciate your way of explaining the good and bad. Thank you again for helping me regain my passion for cycling.
yeah, i feel like this was a wasted opp. i love LR and this channel, but they surely could have found a more interesting race to chat over. Also, when you have LR, pls let him talk more.
When you decide that a race is going to be more about training vs winning (like in this clip) - how do you decide when to pull the plug? Would finishing the last 1.5km of the Alviso course in the pack just have been too much intensity for you and damaged subsequent training efforts? Curious how you make that call to "commit or quit" (though no one could call that monster pull quitting).
Been Missing the spicy content from the red lantern. Not sure why you would chase the breakaway when there’s a team with four guys that missed it though
Hey Jeff. This is probably a pipe dream but is there like a registry to casted on your next couch to crit? Would be insane to get that opportunity. I got 100lbs to lose!
I don't understand how traffic works here, you guys don't close streets but it's like a industrial hood where there is not much vehicles and people know some rules when they see cyclists?
It's a group ride on open roads. It is in a small residential neighborhood / unoccupied industrial park at 12:00pm. It has barely any car traffic at all.
Hey Jeff, I have been watching your channel for a while and I have a question about Brian. Brian seems to be a very strong breakaway rider but every video I have seen him in, he seems to just attack and attack and attack. He doesn't seem to really commit to one big one and I understand that it is rarer for a breakaway a rider to win a crit but it seems like he doesn't put himself in the best chance to win. Is this the case or is my opinion a misjudged opinion?
I haven't been watching Lanterne Rouge as much as I should probably. Grand tours frustrate me somewhat as they are almost universally won by climbers who make for the most boring cyclists. Was the wet corner as sketchy as I feel it would have been? The link to LR's channel doesn't work.
I’m a fan of both of you, but really, for a video like this we don’t really care about the commentary on a practise local crit… we wanted to hear you and Lantern’s conversation and he barely got to talk
I love both cycling channels but this was a missed opportunity. You had LR on to talk about a glorified bunch ride in which you had competition of one, maybe two guys at the same level as you. No wonder you did almost all the talking, what was LR supposed to say? I actually felt sorry for him watching this video.
If lantern Rouge and Chris horner teamed up, that would be the goat pro racing channel. Chris's story telling and pro insights are amazing but he doesn't get the footage to sync with it like lantern Rouge does.
Thanks for having me on again Jeff!

LR you're so mesmerizing! Content great. In-depth review great. Dry humor great. I'm ruing the day to hear you with Bob Roll in July racing.
My two favorite cycling channels together!
Agreed!! 👍 💯
Christmas come early!
totally agree
I love gcn
I’d like to see norcal join lantern for a sprint stage breakdown. Bet it would be interesting
This is a great idea

My 2 fav channels!
Your first partnership introduced me to LR 3 years ago, and I love his pro race analyses! Thanks for having him again!
I love that camera position! Especially through the last 2 corners. Unobstructed wide field yet close to the ground so we feel the speed.🚴♂🚴♂🚴♂
I'm about to sign up for my first bike races thanks to your channel!
You'll have the time of your life!!!
How'd it go?? :)
@@seahorserider33 I've taken 4th twice and 9th once although the fields aren't terribly large.
@@MrAiendar Still some achievement! Congrats 🙌
6:18 only crit race where riders check their watch when they get a call/text
Never get tired of an alviso crit breakdown 👌🏼
Two of the only cycling youtube channel I watch in 1 video!!
Well done Jeff. Cheers from the east coast. Love the commentary
2 best racing comms/viewing 💪.. cheers boys great vid

This is absolutely the best crossover
Jeff always dropping knowledge to the am’s. Never heard of your guest but will check it out on your recommendation
hey, my two favorite cycling channels
New camera? Great footage and different angle. Nice!
The two best cycling content creators join forces!
epic catching the break 👏

This footage is so clean
Yeeees! 🔥
Dream. Absolute dream.
Given the commentary Lanterne typically gives, I assume he hates this sort of racing. Love listening to both him and Jeff though.

oh man what a collab
It's great to see that Mary is out at Alviso again.
BEST CROSSOVER.
HIGHLY ANTICIPATED

You forgot to link his channel so i'll do it

Great to see a puddle in California!!
How do you do a crit with all that traffic and trash everywhere? Lol.
You run 30c tires to run over used needles with.
tripple like
The link in the description for Lanterne Rouge's channel didn't work for me. This link might: www.youtube.com/@LanterneRougeCycling

Silver medal for getting Patrick. Gold medal would be to get Patrick AND Benji!

Hi Jef, what camera do you use and what app do you use for the gps/power/hr/speed etc overlay?

yes
yeah, red lights are for cars anyway

Just search up lanterne rouge
@@lmozza4402 That's what I had to do. Jeff, the Rouge channel link is broke in the description! :)
Did Derek (Thirsty Bear) take the win? I saw him marking your moves early
I really love these combined videos!
Great crossover - next get Chris Horner!
he's had him before! Check the archives :)
how is nobody talking about all these cars on the road?!
Finally figured out that you are, in fact, just racing on public streets. Still interesting, but not something I'd personally want to do.

I was thinking about this the other day, about how you two haven’t done a team up in a while. Love to see it!! The two GOATs of RUclips cycling.
Just never got LR channel, don't get the hype. Not a criticism, each to their own.
I’m a fan of both of you, but really, for a video like this we don’t really care about the commentary on a practise local crit… we wanted to hear you and Lantern’s conversation and he barely got to talk
You should go on lanterns channel and talk tactics on the pro’s

Ends up talking 80% of the video.

Next up Benji??
Does Lantern ride? Whats his ftp and what bike does he ride?
This. He gives off the creamed cheese vibe. 😕
I think he used to be 4.5w/kg+ but he fucked his back bad so now is more casual.
If lantern Rouge and Chris horner teamed up, that would be the goat pro racing channel. Chris's story telling and pro insights are amazing but he doesn't get the footage to sync with it like lantern Rouge does.
I actually like Chris' commentary more but the 14 minute videos with just still photos have become increasingly tedious to watch.
