I tell you, I love her testing the food, and I feel she’s very honest with the taste testing. I noticed even before the lobster roll was picked up, there was just too much mayo! That and the clam chowder bowl was two of the main things I wanted to try from the seafood shack. The other two, and I wish she had tested them is the crab legs and blue crabs, if they have them. But great job and thank you for sharing, I’ve seen your videos before and I enjoy every time 😇
Right there w/ you on the mayo. I do wonder if guests can request less mayo, or if it's already "pre-mixed" with the lobster. And yes we didn't get to try the crab legs & a few other dishes- hope to check them out in the future. Thank you so much for your comment- really appreciate it! 😊
I love that you are honest when something isn't good . Love watching your vlogs! Feel I can trust you are not just liking every thing but a true review :)
Thank you so much- really appreciate it! 😊 Yeah most of the time cruise food is pretty good- this one wasn't terrible but some of the offerings here were a bit lacking, especially for an extra-cost eatery.
Thank you! 😊 Sorry to hear about that lobster roll. Yeah we thought it was worth a try with the good pricing vs land, and while it had a good amount of lobster meat, we definitely had much better ones on land.
I’ve been subscribed for a while now and love your channel! Honest reviews, easy to follow along and good variety! We just booked a RC cruise for August 2023. I don’t see many recent videos for RC and would love you to join us! At least consider updating a RC cruise…it’s been several years since we’ve sailed on this line and I’d love to hear/see your review! 😊
Thank you so much! 😊 We have been on many RC cruises and really enjoyed them! Our most recent one was for Christmas 2021 on the Odyssey OTS. You can see our videos from that cruise via this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLKZWB-uCIzwRsssE3JjyzIkv4Kg0JCQpK We would like to go on one of the newest Oasis class ships for sure, hopefully in the next year!
Not a fan of seafood but love love watching Joanna eat and her comments. Love your food videos. You would think on a ship in the middle of the ocean they could find better seafood ( I know..tongue in cheek)
Thank you so much! 😊 Yeah with a cruise ship all the foods are frozen, though if they were high quality to start with, that'd really help. But that would be really neat if one of these mainstream cruise lines can catch fresh seafood for guests to eat- maybe one day!
I agree, I would recommend the clam chowder, I had it on Carnival Splendor but without the bacon topping but plenty of clams in the soup. Thanks for reviewing the other food items, so I know what to expect when I go on Carnival Celebration.
Did they tell you what market price was for the peel & eat shrimp and lobster meal? Just curious because I saw a little sign in the video that said 2 pounds of crab for $15 and thought that was super cheap, made me wonder about shrimp/lobster prices.
Yeah they didn't post the prices for the lobsters by the pound or the shrimp, but I'm fairly certain that they would be quite a bit cheaper than what you'll see on land. Yup 2 pounds for $15 was definitely a good deal- we'll have to try it out next time!
As soon as I saw the lobster rolls i thought “too much mayonnaise” and I was right. Carnival has a lot of nerve charging $15 for those. The only things that looked good to me were the fried shrimp and the fries. The buffalo fried shrimp sounds good too. Also..I can’t imagine what the “MP” (market price) was for the items listed since they charge $15 for a mayo sandwich. 🤣 They know the “MP” that day and should have the actual price listed. Love Joann’s aqua nail polish!
Yeah the chunks of lobsters were pretty generous but definitely too much mayo on those lobster rolls. We missed those buffalo shrimps, and also those crab legs & a few others- maybe next time! Thank you so much Sally for the comment & the compliment on Joann's nail polish! 😊
My girlfriend and I at that time went to one on one of the carnival ships . I guess I had expected more . It wasn’t bad but not that good either. I had waited about 6 months to go . And was disappointed . Lobster roll was watery and not a lot of meat . And not cheap either. Plus my girlfriend ordered something and we waited forever to get our food .
WOAH! Hold everything… $15 for a lobster roll??? That is *dirt* cheap. When I was in Boston last year, I had to pay upwards of $35 if I wanted a lobster roll. Those there are giveaway prices. Okay, I love this dining venue already. [EDIT] okay, now that I see the lobster rolls up close, that’s truly too much mayo. An authentic lobster roll is usually stuffed to the brim with lobster meat only, and then you’re given melted butter to drizzle on top. Mixed with a little mayo is actually quite nice too, but not that much mayo. Now I see why they charge so little 😕
Yup that is a very reasonable price for a lobster roll, and they did have generous amounts of of lobster meat in them too. But yeah it'd be nice not to have all that mayo!
Loved this video… Never tried seafood shack and probably won't… Thank you for your honest opinion… It's a shame that you paid for mostly fried batter…😞
Cruises do include a lot, but yeah definitely not as much in terms of the more gourmet food & drinks vs one of those all-inclusive resorts. Then again, the latter usually costs more.
@@TravelTouristVideos cruised for years. Not talking about resorts or alcohol. Just the food. Like on Holland, the only fee restaurant was the Pinnacle or the Italian one. Now you see lines opening more and more extra fee restaurants. Even those used to be a flat fee, now many are a la carte. And many are now charging for room service too.
You're spot on- we've noticed cruise line cutbacks for the included dining in an effort to push guests to eat at the specialty restaurants more often. And yeah of course some of those Carnival room service fees are pretty silly. Still fans of cruising though because it's a good value & takes much of the stress & hassle out of vacationing. Cruise lines aren't doing well financially, so I guess we cruisers have to put up with some of these changes for now.
@@TravelTouristVideos I agree with you up until the "for now." Once a company with shareholders has "trained" customers to pay, that fee will stay. I remember watching a couple with a RUclips channel on their first cruise. They ate at the main dining room and the wife said, "it's not bad for the free food" like the MDR was some school cafeteria. 😂
That is true to a certain extent, but cruise lines seems to listen to feedback, and competition helps. For instance Carnival was trying to charge for movie night popcorns and there was such an uproar that they stopped. That was a line crossed, but other cutbacks & extra charges have been accepted by cruisers. But yeah if cruising degrades to whatever level consumers deem is not longer a good experience, then the industry may well sink.
I found Carnival food not as good as RC or Celebrity which is the best of the 3. Thanks for posting for would skip Seafood Shack if I was ever to cruise Carnival in the future.
To much mayo on the lobster roll, for sure. The 18% gratuity, if it's mandatory, is a hard pass for me also. It's not like they were bring your food to you or keeping your glass filled. Yes, I know cruise staff tend to be underpaid, but I look at mandatory gratuities as the same as resort fees or baggage fees. Cruise lines, hotels, airlines, etc., should just increase the fares a little instead of making us feel nickel and dimes to death.
Yeah that was kind of interesting to have the 18% gratuity for this sort of eatery. But with the cruise lines struggling I guess we cruisers gotta help them out a bit, & I agree with you about increasing the fares instead of these head-scratching extra costs.
Had crablegs on the Vista, horrible! Worst that I have ever had, been sick for 4 days and basically ate one leg. Went back to tell them and they...all 3 that were working just smiled at me with nothing to say. DON'T do it!
Not only that, she should take smaller portions, she eats way to big portions into her mouth and does not look right, looks awful to me, even though i love there videos.

Good day, the worst lobster roll I ever had was on carnival with surcharge-about 6-7 years ago. Great review. Thank you.
Thank you! 😊 Sorry to hear about that lobster roll. Yeah we thought it was worth a try with the good pricing vs land, and while it had a good amount of lobster meat, we definitely had much better ones on land.
I really like your video..everytime you take the food i get hungry especially when madam eats..i hope u have more videos to show..
Thank you so much! 😊There are more to come for sure 🙂
We have eaten at the Seafood Shack multiple times and we love it!! Worth every penny!
We'd certainly give them another try but would probably avoid that fried seafood platter. Thanks for the comment! 🙂

You are so welcome- thank you so much for watching & commenting as always! 😊

Appreciate your vote on the chowder! Thanks for the comment & have a wonderful cruise on the Celebration! 😊
This lady has beauty and charisma. She gives us the 411 in an excellent fashion.
Thank you so much- you're too kind! 😊
Thx for your honest report...
Our pleasure!
I go to the seafood shack at least 2-3 times per cruise, but I always get the shrimp, it’s amazing.
Nice! We'll have to try the shrimp next time!
Did they tell you what market price was for the peel & eat shrimp and lobster meal? Just curious because I saw a little sign in the video that said 2 pounds of crab for $15 and thought that was super cheap, made me wonder about shrimp/lobster prices.

Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Regarding the lobster rolls: Were the rolls fluffy?
Nope 😏
I was on this cruise with you guys if it was last week
We were actually there during spring break- hope you had a great time on the Vista!
The steamed shrimp was delicious!
Will look to try those in the future- thanks for the heads up!
thank you
Our pleasure! 😊
Well it all looked good but looks can be deceiving lol. Nice video. Thanks for the review.
You're right about that lol. Thanks for watching & the comment! 😊

Thanks for sharing your experience- sounds like the lobster roll you had had too much mayo just like ours.
@@TravelTouristVideos yes it did . But I do like mayo . But that was a little bit too much.
Very tasty tour
Thank you very much! 😊

Too much nickel and diming on some cruise lines these days. What happened to all-inclusive?

I’m thinking the fish is frozen, those are clam strips without bellies, lobster roll way to much mayo. I’m skipping it. Thx for your lovely reviews
Our pleasure- thanks so much for the comment! 😊
I found Carnival food not as good as RC or Celebrity which is the best of the 3. Thanks for posting for would skip Seafood Shack if I was ever to cruise Carnival in the future.

That’s what I was thinking. Too much mayo.
Long John Silver..
Yeah that seafood platter is pretty much it lol
No clams😢 in clam chowder, put this cruise for last so far.
I. Could eat it all.. except the veggies…. 😍
Lots of yummy food there 😋
I have eaten at the seafood shack a number of times. On one ship it was great, but the Horizon was awful.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Seafood Shack!
I really enjoyed my fish and chips at the Seafood Shack maybe your family just had a bad experience. Try it again.
Good to know! Yeah maybe we just had a bad batch.

2:03 looks like a lobster twinkey
Those girls in the start of the video………..
No imagining those in the lifeboats 😩😩😩
That lobster roll looks like it’s just a mayonnaise sandwich that happens to have a few chunks of lobster.
Yes- way too much mayo!
Lots of Mayo in that Lobster roll...Why!!
Yeah we were wondering the same
Thank you ! Always love to see your wife eat ! But she is so skinny !😂 so I guess you eat the rest 🤣
Lol let's just say there wasn't much leftover after the 3 of us were done. Thanks for the comment! 😊
Well that was disappointing. Thank you for doing the review for me. Now I know I won’t be trying it.
Our pleasure- thanks so much for the comment! 😊 Definitely don't try that seafood platter lol.
It’s all friggin Mayo..
Had crablegs on the Vista, horrible! Worst that I have ever had, been sick for 4 days and basically ate one leg. Went back to tell them and they...all 3 that were working just smiled at me with nothing to say.
DON'T do it!
Thanks for the review on the crab legs- we'll be sure to avoid them!
Sea food shack was a once and done for us. Super greasy and low quality. We eat better seafood at home.
Yeah it wasn't the best specialty restaurant on the ship, that's for sure
I’m a new Englander so I’m critical but that lobster roll looks terrible
Yeah that wasn't the best for sure!
The review itself was mediocre.
Great video… not a fan of that seafood shack
Thank you! 😊 Yeah it sounded exciting but was a tad overrated.
I HATE THE WAY YOU HOLD YOUR HAND UNDER YOUR MOUTH EVERY TIME YOU TAKE A BITE OF SOMETHING. ARE YOU THAT OF A MESSY EATER ???
Not only that, she should take smaller portions, she eats way to big portions into her mouth and does not look right, looks awful to me, even though i love there videos.
