It is quite common in indonesia, heavy smoker play guitar put the cigarettes at the guitar. Indonesian cigarettes is much denser than western cigarettes. It will take longer times to smoke, some even takes much longer and considered as mini cigar (non filter kretek cigarettes). You notice he use that tin for his ashtray and he can just rest his cigarettes in that tin cuz the shape. The style of the song is in keroncong style. To play this style, the bass played almost like walking bass but jumping around with double stroke every now and then while the rhythm make those harmonic high notes, and of course with alip he put the vocal and some licks every now and then make it more complicated in very good way.
