Thanks for these videos..The 6460b is a great machine that you can get cheap and with an SSD and Memory upgrade are still very powerful for most tasks. I got one in a lot of broken machines that I am fixing up for students that don't have computers at the school where my wife works and also it is a fun hobby for me during the quarantine.
The LCD and the clasp were broken so I bought a full upper LCD assembly. I haven't tried to fix it yet but I was wondering if you had any tips on removing the upper deck so I can access the brackets that hold the top assembly. I did a similar repair with a newer HP 15 (a junky plastic Walmart machine with a pentium cpu) and that involved prying the top deck off. I hope this is easier. Even if I don't hear back, I will come back an report what happens.
The new screen needs some cleaning prior to attaching the bezel.
