Gotta say that voice acting is goddamn EXCELLENT!
I will say, I was scrolling through most dialogue to get the text on recording, but a few NPC's like Leitis were so good that I listened to all of it. I believe (Renly?) in town has the same voice actor as Niles from Heist, and he did an excellent job as well.

based on what you saw would it be fair to say Rainbow nuke will come back with avengance in the games current state (simply from a gem and skill selection perspective)
I'm going to assume you're referring to a very powerful 3-charge Discharge.
POE2 seems to want charges to be rarer and more impactful. Constantly Discharging is the antithesis of that.
If Discharge does make it into POE2, it will be a very powerful finisher, rather than a spammable main skill.

Very nicely done, thank you! I'm also happy you helped find an exploit ahaha (not surprised) The dodge rolling and WASD movement seems like it's gonna fit just perfectly with my preferred playstyle, which in mouse movement only made me spend loads of time basically swiping the mouse across the screen for kiting, and this alleviates that issue perfectly! ps: when are you making another song, I miss your beautiful singing voice. pps: or you could do asmr readings of the Lord of the Rings, or something..

Was there ANY discussion on the other classes? I'm very interested in seeing the Shadow. (I know you couldn't play it; just wondering if anyone asked and got an answer about the niches.)
Also, it looked like any gem could drop, and you also could get Uncut gems, which IIRC allow you to choose any skill listed for your class? Can you confirm?
There was nothing in this demo about the Shadow that was not previously discussed. Check out the way that Traps and Mines work that was shown at Exilecon if you haven't already. They worked like that in the demo.
In the video, you can see me get a Tier-4 Uncut Skill Gem as a quest reward. That lets me choose a Tier-4-and-under skill gem, for *any* class, not just the one I chose.
There were lots of support gems, but probably not all of the ones that will be in the final release. They're still making them. I think acquiring all the gems you want will be convenient.
From what we've seen uncut gems replace the "choose your gem" quest rewards, and will give you the option to chose a gem of the appropriate level. (E.g. if you're in a level 30 zone it will give you a gem that's at a level that makes it require like lvl 26-30)

One issue I have with POE1 is that the visual clarity feels a little lacking at times so I'm often confused as to what's happening on my screen, obviously you've mentioned there's an issue with executioner that GGG are aware of, but how did you find the visual clarity for the rest of your playthrough?

glad they invited you! wish they would show some later game gameplay.
I got to play the demo a few times at PAX this weekend. Warrior was somewhat tough to play because it was hard to get even basic armor and most skills were too slow to use safely. Their default skill gem, rolling slam, did not feel at all useful even with the extra stun. However when I could actually trigger Bonebreaker (huge damage on enemies at 70% stun or higher) it was satisfying. I could imagine a support gem for rolling slam that prevents a full stun but still applies stun damage.
Hey, a question for you - I'm wondering how does the new skill system with all the synergies between skills work on other classes than those skills are meant for? What I'm concerned about is those synergies that work out of the box because game was designed in this way will shoehorn a given skill to automatically select from only a few that can synergize well with it, so it's not really like you could do an entirely crazy mix of skills from between the classes right and do something completely novel and be on par with power?
Not sure what you mean. Every class can acquire and use every skill. Some of them are bound to have synergy.
lol within about a minute of hearing you, subbed. amazing brother lmao
Did you get to try new character archetypes? Also how do the new characters fit on the tree In relation to how they obtain various attributes
Like does the Druid character get mostly int for example
Everyone at the event was given 2 stipulations:
1. Do not show the Passive Skill Tree. It is not at all finished.
2. Do not show crashes and lag spikes. (They're not the game's fault. Live demos always break.)
(Jonathan requested that I personally do not show the exploits I found, and apologized for the inconvenience, because it was a majority of my footage.)
However, I can still answer your question.
The attribute travel nodes on the passive tree, (in the demo, subject to change at any time!), allow you to freely choose which attribute they give. So, any character can get however much of each attribute that they want.
@OMGItsJousis genuinely hilarious that he asked you personally to cut out the exploits.
@@OMGItsJousis oooh that's interesting allows for a lot of different stacking types I imagine, and allows easy transition for changing gear
What are your thoughts on the mounts? Not sure how much you interacted with that system. Don't know what to think of them from the little footage I've seen, but I guess I'm mostly worried about being forced to use them (mainly from a min-max endgame standpoint). Of course it's most likely too early to say right now, but do you think they are a good trade-off in their current implementation or will become necessary for ranged characters?
There were no mounts in the demo. They explained that they rushed to be able to show one in the livestream, but they're not finished yet.
I don't think it will be mandatory to use them, and I think the only way to abuse them will be a character that offscreens literally everything moving slightly faster. There are enough downsides that it won't just be everyone permanently using mounts. Dodge rolling dismounts you, for one, and dodge rolling is pretty good.
Seeing dodge rolling, and you spinning with na 12 gauge crossbow kill that boss was something that hurt.
Have you been able to experience the osrs Varlamore update yet?
god damn the voice acting in this game
Hi :) odd question, but did you happen to notice if spears/polearms of any sort were a type of weapon, or if its the same as PoE1 where its exclusively just a single level 20 type of axe?
Spear was confirmed to be its own weapon type at Exilecon. I played the Huntress in the demo, who used a spear and shield. That was the best-feeling character in that demo, mostly because of the lightning spear skill that had great synergy with Herald of Thunder.
@@OMGItsJousis I didnt know they had confirmed it, tysm :)
do you ask them what they think about infinity loop cast or the former CoC that was so fun in the past when they stuck with dx9
How does the movement feel? Where does it land in comparison to D4, POE1 and Last Epoch.
The level progression. How does that compare to POE1? In POE1, I found myself really having to look up guides on how to get to this and that place and not really knowing where do go next.
Did POE2 feel as punishing as POE1? I remember "blind-building" my first two characters. BIG mistake, and I lost like 20 hours and had to restart a third time with a guide on how to build.
Anything you liked? Something you did NOT like at all?
the voice acting and executioner scene is brutal jesus
How fast can you move while making ranged attacks? Is it a fixed speed, or just a percentage reduced speed of what you normally move at?
Attacking while moving reduces your movement speed by a decent amount. You can get a good estimate of by how much from watching the clip near the beginning.
I don't know whether it's an additive or multiplicative reduction, since there weren't any sources of increased movement speed in the demo that I found.
However, note that there is no movement penalty if you attack while riding a mount.
(The downside is that you can get knocked off your mount and stunned, and dodge rolling dismounts you.)
I will also say, even the base attacking-while-moving speed is infinitely better than being stationary, in terms of dodging attacks. At no point did I feel like I had tanked an attack because I was locked into an attack animation. It was always either that my movement was incorrect, or I failed to cancel it with a dodge roll in time.
@@OMGItsJousis what do you mean by mounts
@@TheSaival There are new active skill gems that summon a minion that you can ride. If you step off it, it attacks like a regular minion. While you're riding it, you move faster, and can attack without a movement penalty. While mounted, dodge rolling dismounts you, and if you take enough damage, you are forcibly dismounted, with a lengthy stun animation.
Tl;dr Torrent from Elden Ring.
@@OMGItsJousis ayo thats crazy can you even cast spells?
@@TheSaival IIRC there are some things you can't do while mounted, but you can cast most spells.
Dodge Rolling seems slow, does movement speed affect it?
Also the general feel of the gameplay seems to have been slowed down to make movement, attacking & skill casting more deliberate, where in poe1 u mostly just spammed skills on cooldown & moved in any random direction to dodge most of the time. Would you say this is the direction of the game they're going with? Or its too early in the game to tell?
They mentioned that the dodge roll will have stats to invest in.
I do think they aim to make movement and attacking/casting more deliberate. They specifically mentioned on the livestream today not liking that circle-strafing bosses meant you are 100% safe. They also seem to really be pushing using multiple skills that combo together, or that adapt to different situations, rather than investing entirely into a one-size-fits-all main skill, and only pressing 1 button while playing.
That doesn't mean they're forcing the player to do complicated stuff for the sake of it being complicated. They're just making it make sense to use multiple skills instead of just 1, which I think is more fun. It will still be possible to make a POE1-style build, but the goal is that you won't want to. POE1 will still be running, and you can play that instead if you really want to do that.
"Are you sure you want to bring this guy for the event???"
As I can see you were playing the ranger.. was there any reasonable way to play it melee or was it all just ranged? Were there any melee dex skill gems for example that would fit a ranger thematically?
Exilecon had more melee stuff to showcase. The Huntress used a spear, and that was everyone's favorite to play. The Monk used a quarterstaff, and had movement baked into all its melee attacks.
This demo just had the Warrior, which was mostly there to showcase a shield skill that blocked all damage from the front (with a bar that fills up and breaks your guard if you keep it held up, and is unable to block stuff like AOE slams.) Also, using Shield Charge held the shield up and blocked while charging. Jonathan talked about trying to make sure all 3 characters in the demo had the same power level, but everyone agreed that the Ranger was far superior to the Sorceress, and the Sorceress was far superior still to the Warrior. So, Jonathan is aware that there are some balance changes to make in that regard.
There are definitely dex melee skills, and you could have picked them with the uncut skill gem interface, but they weren't in the demo.
@@OMGItsJousis Appreciate the response, the spear footage we saw in the exilecon stuff seemed very.. ranged to me seeing as I do recall a Lightning Strike equivalent. Definitely holding out hope that melee isn't forced into the melee with projectile gameplay or just the big two hander bonking business. It isn't unexpected that the warrior was going to be quite.. pathetic given how much of a power spike WASD and attack while moving gives to range.
@@Satsujinki1337 All the footage you saw with the lightning spear was on the same character I'm talking about, which had plenty of actual melee skills. It's just that everyone chose to spam the lightning spear because it procced the Herald of Thunder that the character had on it, doing big lightning AOE damage. There was a skill that was a rapid series of close-range jabs, but this was before attack-while-moving, so nobody really used it.
Was that a waypoint being activated just by walking nearby?
17 seconds ago release?
I have to ask - what was the [REDACTED] you were talking (not showing) about?
Everyone at the event had to send their footage for approval before it could be made public. That footage was rejected, so I am not allowed to show it.
Basically, the whole point of the demo and the event was to show off the good, finished aspects of the game. I went out of my way to find things that weren't finished, so they politely asked that I not show those.
How long did it take you to find the burst shot exploit, and will you ever be able to show the exploit in the future?
Pretty much instantly when I first used it on a boss, which was maybe 15 minutes into the demo, and no, never. It's not a big loss, though. There will be plenty of opportunity for much cooler footage in the future.
Just picture me shooting the boss with the shotgun and it dying faster than you would expect.
@@OMGItsJousisThanks for the response good sir! POE2 looks awesome and im excited to see what other dark arts[exploits?] can be used and abused in the future!
"Blessed be the 12 gauge." Amen.
Did you perform a song while playing 🤔?
I know you can't release specific details on the shotgun exploit, but can you give any vague details like if it was a mechanical exploit or a numbers/damage value exploit?
I didn't do anything particularly mysterious. The shotgun was included in a previous demo, then scaled down improperly for Act 1 in this demo, so it was just far more powerful than it should have been.
I just rolled into the boss's hitbox, fired the shotgun, which tended to stun or knock it back, rolled back into its hitbox, and fired again. The fight against Draven took 20 seconds and 15 shotgun shots, during which he got 5 attack animations off without being stunned. Doesn't really make the boss look exciting.
@@OMGItsJousis Thanks for quick reply! Interesting, but understandable why GGG wasn't keen on you showing that if it's going to be changed before release. Cheers mate and thank you always for the great content!
Will the crafting system be the same as in PoE1?
love the Scotty McReery voice. Keep expecting you to break into a cowboy song
Not PoE 2 related but do you think Automation can work as an Autobomber type build?
Absolutely. People on the subreddit are already cooking. Mostly Brand Recall.
Do they intend on keeping the spinning while in hideouts/towns in the game?
I don't see why not. They specifically allowed the Bear form to roll in town, specifically just because it was funny.
@@OMGItsJousis That's sick, hopefully they keep goofy stuff in because their track record shows that they like to squash fun at random times

All I could hear in my head was Mack from WorthABuy singing ”Rolling around on the floor like a prick.”
Should have been a challenge among everyone to get the most redacted footage
Jousis got invited to bugtest the game and he delivered.
I’m guessing the exploit is spinning so the hit box of the shotgun hits multiple times as the hitbox follows your player. Or weapon switching or both.
There's no sense in allowing the hitbox to actually exist more than one frame, I think.
You can see him do the spin exploit still. It's not hidden
If you die, the mobs reset, but can you still go back and pick up your loot?
OH man, that gameplay looks sick. They mentioned it was not going to feel like POE1 where you can go zoom zoom, Did you feel that the game was reduced in speed?
Do you get i-frames during the roll, or is it just a repositioning tool?
The dodge roll dodges all strike attacks and projectiles. It does not grant i-frames for slams and such.
I felt that this was a very good balance. You'll be rolling a lot, and it's very useful, but it doesn't trivialize the game.
One more thing from the demo that I didn't show: Active blocking.
Passive blocking, attack and spell, still exists as it does in POE1, but some shields grant a skill that you can hold them up and block 100% of frontal attacks (with a guard-break meter.)
Some attacks cannot be blocked, and they mentioned being very careful about telegraphing those, like flashing them red or something.
@@OMGItsJousis Both of those sound awesome
@@OMGItsJousisI'm sorry. I'm a little confused. It's a Dodge, but only on some things?
@@mishli7670 During the roll animation, where other games might make you totally invincible, POE2 instead makes you dodge normal melee attacks, and projectiles. That means you can still be hit by big slams, things that are already on the ground, etc.
So are any of the improvements over PoE1 that are in PoE2 being back ported into PoE1 or are they just kinda, leaving the OG game high and dry instead of all the improvements they promised a while ago?
Path 1 bros aint getting shit lol.
They've mentioned before that improvements made in POE2 *that are applicable to POE1 systems* will be ported over. Graphics improvements, engine improvements, and the like.
I don't believe something like WASD movement will be made a POE1 feature, because it's a major feature that would change the game.
Personally, I think the new Automation jewel feels like it's straight out of Poe 2, except in poe1 it eats up an extra gem+skill slot
Is there going to be gamepad support for this game?
Was there much use for gold in the demo? Curious if it there was anything worth commenting on there.
Also curious about the loot cadence - how often did you find yourself caring about floor loot? Or upgrading your gear noticeably?
In that long sequence starting at 5:33, it seemed to take quite a while to clear out those enemies - were they unusually tough? Did you get the impression that that kind of combat pacing was representative of general gameplay, or just act 1 pacing? Do you feel like you might have been able to kill them faster with a riskier/more complicated set of skills than Shotgun Shenanigans?
Was there much in the way of sidequesting, or was it mostly just the main act questline?
I'm glad you were able to go through the demo with a fine-toothed comb, I know you'll have some pretty excellent insight into what they had to offer. Also congrats on breaking things immediately, true to your nature.
My gameplay was slow because I used a built-in weapon skill with no support gem sockets (yet) and no mana cost. If I could have socketed a single Pierce support, I would have been obliterating those packs.
Or, if I had been using all the Lightning or Poison Bow skills, like everyone else, and like I was supposed to.
Regarding floor loot: For one, that's how I found the crossbow. But, the consensus is that you'll likely find upgrades on the floor, the problem is them being the right base type for your class. Jonathan mentioned this is a really hard problem to solve. How would they know you *don't* want bows on your Sorceress?
Either way, you can vendor all the loot for gold, then have a reasonable chance of buying a gear upgrade in town with it.
Also, the "side quests" were just "Kill the boss in this area instead of just beelining through it. It's maybe 20 meters from the main path."
@@OMGItsJousis all good info, thanks! And good on you for choosing the road less traveled (the road more rolling reloaded on?)
it seems to me at 5:33, those enemies will block projectiles when holding their shields infront of them, they were damaged only when they moved their shield to attack
@@OMGItsJousis im disappointed that they introduced gold
@@ItsRayful I'm not. It's basically a way to smooth out getting upgrades in the campaign. It's auto-pickup, doesn't take inventory space, and orbs still exist. I can't think of a downside.

what kind of exploit was it? did you find a way to just not need to reload or something?
Shotgun time it is. Can't wait til the game comes out on the meantime Dragon's Dogma 2 will be keeping me entertained. Glad to see that they let you who breaks POE test it out.
im still just waiting for one quack man 3.0
does rolling feel as slow as it looks?
The early game is always slow. They've previously said that the endgame will feel about as fast as in POE1.
why is the gemcutting UI separated into classes? are skills class locked?
No. It's more that those are the suggested skills for those classes. I could have gone into the Sorceress one and picked Flame Wall and fired my crossbow through it.
Was the exploit related to weapon switching?
sound possible if they made the weapon spawn with ammo in it
Realy hope we get to see the exploit some day when the game is released.
The voice actor for Letis really sold this for me. She goes hard.
Reminds me of Clarissa and Tolman, but it hits much harder thanks to to the voice acting.
And you can spin...Nice video hyped for the content. xD
My man cosplaying as Graves from League of Legends XD
one thing i didnt see many ppl talk about or even the devs, is theres GOLD now, how does it fit in the game?
It basically makes it easier to get gear upgrades in the campaign. Shops in town buy your items for gold, and sell their items for gold. You can still "disenchant" items for orb shards, but while leveling, it's better to convert everything to gold, and gamble for a random-quality item in the slot you want to upgrade, or maybe get lucky and find a good one in the shop.
In POE1, I routinely equip some generically good stuff at level 10-20, then barely change my gear until I hit yellow maps, because it's inefficient to try to get upgrades before maps. In POE2, that isn't a problem, because gold prices can scale with level, so an earlier gear upgrade is cheaper, and therefore easier to get.
Gold will also be used to respec skill points on the passive tree. Cheap at early levels and not to expensive at later levels like 60-70, but then a bit more expensive at the highest levels (That is the info we have now, it could change since the game isn't done yet). They have also said that gold will be used as a fee for instant buyout trade. Gold is not tradable
everything we know from what i remember is summed up by jousis and the other commenter, but the reason no one is mentioning gold rn is that GGG revealed it at the last demo and it doesnt seem like anything new about it has come out
Definitely getting strong D2 vibes and love it.
God Bless the 12 gauge!!!
I played 45 minutes at Pax, and the movement is really amazing

God, the game already looks stunning and absolutely MASSIVE.
12 classes alone is ridiculous already, but all the love that went into detail... POE2 will be a banger.
