It really seems like you should be more careful about mistakes when you make this type of video. First of all, calcium is much softer than either magnesium or beryllium, not harder. You have the periodic trend backward. Beryllium (mohs) hardness: 5.5 Magnesium hardness: 2.5 Calcium hardness: 1.75 Strontium hardness: 1.5 Barium hardness: 1.25 Also, calcium is not normally stored in air, but rather in mineral oil to prevent its reaction with oxygen, nitrogen and moisture. If you need to keep calcium metal for any extended length of time, mineral oil is a must.

Well, in school they say phenolphthalein turns pink when OH- (aq) ion is present. Valid
Thank you so much I never knew this thing before even being a science student
very usable channel ! simply and good explanation

If I had read chemistry this way, it would have been be interesting
Very good video of a pure element.
Good demonstration of physical and chemical properties of Ca
What just happened inside the test tube?
How fast did it happen? Love that pop sound.
I did not know this much thank you !!
What happens when you cover the flask with water and calcium with a watch glass (avoid exposing on air)? Will it still react the same?
I need me some strawberry milkshake

It's Ca(OH)2 so would it react with CO2 to form Carbonate? If we just pass CO2 in that flask?

how about calcium from milk and bones. what the difference?
i kinda think the stuff from milk and bones is in salt form
Umm.... one question.... in school we were taught that calcium burns in water with a flickering brick red flame? Why was there no flame?
It doesn't burn in water because the reaction is not that exothermic like Na, K etc.
That last was phenolphthalien
