To all who find Zumanjaro scary: When I rode it, I was pretty terrified of height. I rode all the other coasters including Kingda Ka. When we went to the top on the tower we dropped, it’s pretty surprising if i do say so myself. However, try screaming really loud and putting pressures your stomach as you scream. It worked for me. I loved the ride and survived it!
I went on the sky screamer just yesterday and it's so high up I almost fainted the thing that sucks about it has usually has a an hour long wait and the ride isn't that fast it scares you extreamly plus the ride is like a freaking minute and it's not worth an hour

I went on Zumanjaro. IT WAS AMAZING. Totally worth it. The journey up was both frightening and breath-taking. It's just....so hard to describe. You have to do it yourself. It was both very terrifying, but very beautiful. And after, you WANT to go again. :) It's not that bad honestly, the second time you go, the scares are gone.

Both rides are by the same manufacturer, they wouldn't allow it if it wasn't safe, and even so they added extra supports to Ka. The height of the drop isn't what matters (people skydive all the time after all), it's how fast you're slowed down at the bottom, which would be no more intense than the positive Gs you'd get on a coaster.

When something like that happens, they close all rides of the same type (of which Zumanjaro is not, anyway) and make sure it can't happen again before they re-open them.

The French Quarter flyers are so old school.This ride was out in the 70's at Six Flags Over Ga out by the Scream machine and it was called the Phlying Phlurpus.Exact same ride just painted different.I know cause I rode it.
Those kind of drop rides use a system of magnetic breaks to slow the vehicle down. You can see them as fins that stick out from the tower, or they may be concealed inside the tower. Take a look at drop zone from Kinds Island you can see them clearly.
What people need to know about this ride is that, it's coming from Knott's Berry Farm here in California. This ride has broken down many of times and stranding people up at the top for over 3hrs. Enjoy!
No it isn't. Six Flags has nothing to do with Cedar Fair. WindSeeker is going to Worlds of Fun as SteelHawk. New England SkyScreamer is brand new and is made just for Six Flags New England. Plus it is a totally different ride system.
I've been on the 380ft Skyflyer in Prater Park, Vienna, Austria and it looks exactly like this new carousel ride. Really cool ride, smooth and amazing views from the top. Not scary or a thrill ride at all....unless you are scared of heights that is!!
Goliath is a remake of the Texas giant for other states. The Texas giant is scary. And always make sure your buckled in correctly and not overweight, don't want to be like the lady that died
Already closed and being removed. While it's sad to see it go, it'll open up room for a whole new section and a much more direct path between Kingda Ka and El Toro. Right now, Kingda Ka is a big dead end.

There may be a counterweight connected to the catch car that lifts the drop vehicle to the top, but nothing is connected to the drop vehicle as it falls. It's slowed down by magnetic brakes on the bottom third or so of the tower, just like the drop towers at Kings Island and Kings Dominion.
The video is not fake folks, especially the Goliath, because i've seen the construction layout of the ride. It looks more intense than the hybrid coaster "Iron Rattler" here in San Antonio. I will have to check out the new thriller when i visit home in chicago next year.

They don't use chains for attractions that large, they use a boom as it allows for better control over the swinging.

Kingda Ka is about 60 miles from Philadelphia, New York, and Atlantic City. You can see ALL THREE on a clear night.
