- Tomb Wader owes its pun of a name to Tomb Raider, a franchise that started and gained high success on the Playstation, just like Crash himself.
This is the 2nd of the 4th Warp Room chamber's 2 Egyptian levels, and the 3rd one overall. From what I've read around for a few years, this is probably one of the most well-known levels in the whole game for its unique hazard and the challenge it provides to the level.
It's main gimmick is to wade through water, hence the name. They have very distinctive sounds when they rise and when they fall. If you're trying to travel through it, once again, take advantage of both the Double Jump and the Death Tornado Spin you should have at this point.
Poor Crash hasn't learned to hold his breath any longer than he did in Crash 2. What you have to do is make sure that, when the water pits are rising, they don't get too deep for Crash, or he'll quickly drown just like he does in the river levels of Crash 2. On the other end of the spectrum, making Crash fall into a bottomless pit of water will make him float on his back with a surprised look on his face. The most non-lethal death in the franchise.
It's not shown in this video, but Crash's drowning got slightly tweaked in that the game will skip most of the animation if he already drowned before during the same run through the level. It's probably because it takes too long, or maybe because it's one of his more realistic deaths that doesn't even look that funny? I have no idea. Either way, without scuba-diving gear, Crash's survival skills underwater still suck so much that even Sonic points and laughs at him for it.
Probably because of the water-theming, this level has the Blue Gem. Just like I did in High Time, you can just take the Skull Route, pick up the Gem at the end of it, and then die to return to the main route to continue getting the Crystal and Clear Gem in one go alongside the Colored Gem.

the part at 1:38 ..... i just cant do it. im freaking out! crash sinks way faster and i hit the tnt bevor the whirlwind ends. you seem to float somehow. i dont know...

Tafkadasohlol undetstood. ground smashing gives u a little boost of energy. After that u need make double jump as quick as u can
+Tafkadasohlol no, if you do the slide jump trick, you will go higher. you can see that he slides just before he jumps.

Whenever I start this level, the music won't play and the game freezes right when I'm about to jump up to the first switch that you spin. What can I do to solve this?
I fixed my disk using the toothpaste method. Now the level works like normal

It's a rule that every platform franchise must have at least one Egyptian-themed level.
This game has several (Tomb Time, Sphynxinator, Tomb Wader, and Bug Lite) Maybe more but this is just off the top of my head.
