I just bought my wonderboom 2 about 2 months ago and I like it. However on high volume over 70-80% it doesn’t sound too well(of course depending on what I listen to). I came across your review as I’m not decided if to go next and buy a second wonderboom 2 to pair or to buy the mini HomePod. I would love on one hand to have a stereo pair with the wonderboom but on the other hand I like the functionality feature of the HomePod.(I have also a MacBook that I could use it with). The price here in Europe it’s like 50% more for the mini HomePod than us. So from a budget stand point this also makes it a trickier choice. What I miss the most with the wonderboom is the microphone as I don’t think I would talk to my speaker to start whatever song. Hhehehe
The mini would give you a smart speaker and a great small sounding speaker. The WB is just a speaker . I would save and get the mini. Having 2 WB sounds good but you have to pair them each time. The Mini can do so much more. Let me know what you do. Cheers and sub!
Back with an update. Received as a gift from my fiancé a wonderboom 2 so now I have a stereo pair. Sounds very good and I love the feature that I can turn stereo mode off for when I put the speakers in different rooms. Maybe in the future will consider one of the Homepods, but the fact that they don’t have a battery it’s a big turn off. My Wonderbooms are really wonders :) when it comes to battery and after using them I almost never put them over 50% volume, they are THAT loud
With my B&O headphones, the Wonderboom is a little harsh sounding on acoustics. HomePod mini is smooth and warm, also airy. Very easy listening. I don't know if this is true, just what I hear through your mic. Listening in person could be different. Anyway, thanks.
I would say you are correct. The HomePod is smoothly with better low bass. The UE is great for an outdoor on the go speaker. The UE can project the sound 360 and with some songs you can hear the different tones around the speaker. Thanks please sub
Heard to compare through iPad speakers. I have the Bose micro, I like it a lot for a tiny speaker. How do you find the mini compares in person.....my criteria is sound quality, not the trip it does.
@@achillelalonde I have been using the HomePod to play background Xmas music it sounds even better the more I use it at lower volumes. The HomePod is very clear and the hint of low end bass makes you take notice. So much so I stop what I am doing and just look at it sometimes. Ha. Sometimes with these speakers one sounds better than the other depending on the track and volume level. But I don’t think someone is going to be choosing b/t the WB/ Bose or HP mini. One is a smart speaker for home use and the other is a rugged on the go Bluetooth speaker. What I can tell you is that The HP will sound better in person than both of these Bluetooth’s. I was just surprised that the WB still sounds pretty good and is very loud. Thanks please sub 👍🏻
I used all that RUclips money to buy the MacBook Air. All $70 a month avg. ha. I’m reading so much stuff online that the 16 GB RAM is not worth it the 8 GB does just as good. 😭
@@ScottsReviews I know what you mean! I think the 16 GB may be more helpful with dual 4K monitors hooked it but unfortunately I don’t have two to test right now. My current MacBook uses around 6 GB with all my apps open and I do want to transcode some 8K video down to 4K and my current machine takes 15 minutes for 15 seconds of footage. I kinda wish now I would have got both 8 GB or 16 GB and sold one. 😄
Nice video but you really need to record in a better sounding room and use a better recording setup. Binaural mic`s work well in similar videos. Almost sounds like recorded with a smartphone mic. There is no way to make a decision based on the sound qual of this video. Other than that there is potential
The HomePod is not louder then the wonder boom but is sounds better and that is why the HomePod mini is superior because of that. just my opinion definitely thinking about getting the HomePod mini
Literally laughed out loud at "One's a smart speaker, one's a dumb speaker."

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve already got a wonderboom, and I was curious how it sounded next to the HomePod mini.
what are your thoughts?
Thank you for responding to my questions and for this thorough comparison.
wonderboom just whoo..... and bright clear sound then homepod mini..

True 👍🏻
Yep, you hit right, its saturated and sounds like ithe dsp was strugling
Well damn home pod it is! Thanks 👍🏼
Thank you for this, it has been helpful, think I will go for the Home Pod!
Scott are you saying if you don't use apple music to go for the ue boom?
Not directly because one is a smart speaker and the other is a Bluetooth only speaker.
Oh my, that’s a real difference. The HomePod mini sounds so much better. 👍🏻
Would love to see a comparison with the Soundcore Motion+
Thank you for this Video ! I have a wonderboom and might get the homepod mini and its perfect to see how it sounds compared to the wonderboom.
I have been using the HomePod to play background Xmas music it sounds even better the more I use it at lower volumes.
How did you connect/mike guitar to HP?
The review that I was looking for, thank you!
What application do I use in the sonometer apple watch?

Volume is not a priority, overall quality and sweet bass
Noticed in one of your other video you preferred the boxe over wonderboom for your style listening. How about Bose vs mini for hotel California

The Wonderboom would get fatiguing on longer listening period. The Homepod mini is better balanced and sweeter sounding. The Bose sounds muffled.
thanks for this! super helpful :)
now there goes my savings XD
B&o beoplay a2 will kill this!
and kill us with 2 or more times the price :v. Just kiding I have one beoplay A2 and is beatifull what can be hear.

Which has a better overall sound?
HomePod has that smooth deeper bass. It can rumble a little for its size. UE for took 2nd.
And t bose?
@@arijit8381 HomePod sounds better i think

can’t believe people are sleeping on tha micro. imo it sounded way better in person compared to my homepod mini. 🤷♂️
Bose micro winner 😍😍😍
🥇mini 🥈wonderboom
Wonderboom is louder
yep, but isn´t good at quality in the rythms and and detaield sound as homepod mini.
El HomePod no es tan superior
Wonder boom is winner
You sound is full of Plosives. For an audio review that’s not good.
