I love your content. I've been waiting for someone to replace Norm since his retirement. As far as my entertainment and information go, you're the one. Keep up the good work.
4 screws, and the jointer came out great John. I agree on the tilt opinion on the fence. I have never ever taken mine out of the 90 degree. If I need a bevel I would cut it on the tablesaw, and then run it freehand flat on the jointer to clean it up
Glad you finished the project. Enjoyed the build and videos on it. What I really like is seeing clever, simple things and methods that I have not thought of. Cheers, Lee
I really enjoyed watching this series. I'll likely never build a jointer, but it was interesting watching you tackle the individual problems that arose. Well done!
Thanks :)I think bigger problems are ones I created for myself, by trying to make this just with stuff I already had. To do it again, I would spend a bit more and spend more time making sure everything is precise from the start.
You have put so much thought, time and effort into your shop, from the tools to the cinematography, that is become a true pleasure to watch your work. Incredible! Your helmet cam shot of the file cabinet drawer makes me want to be the surgical assistant to "I buildit" studios! haha! I just want to be the guy that gets the tools out of those incredibly clever cabinets. So Organized!! Great job with this jointed.
Nice build, John. I'm sure glad to get this done. I don't think I'd ever build one, but using your principles in your work will aid me in my builds. Thx.
Well done! I hope you'll post a vid of you planing a piece that's near full-width, because it sounds like that motor is big enough that it's not going to slow down for much. I like the fence - simple, easy to square and quick to adjust. In the 3 years I've owned my jointer I've not yet have reason to use the angle function - it's just more fobs to deal with in keeping things square. This was a great project, glad you regained the steam to finish it up. Now on to that table saw! ;)
The shots with your mouth-mounted camera are GREAT!!! You must have finished with chin ake.... wow!!! thumbs up!!. The Jointer is finished, what a satisfaction must you have. Great job!
Blue base for this channel, red fence for the other channel? Hmm... No, that's not right either. Looking good, John! That last scene showing the 90 degree on the board is what this was all about! Another project knocked out of the park!
I like the colours of your band saw. Looks clean and simple, and most importantly not Green. Although I suppose if you don't paint it it will showcase the Homemade build (like your router table). Makes me go back and watch the Build video.
Not too many screws. ;-) I've enjoyed following this one, John and seeing how manageable a project like this can be when it's broken down in to stages. Here in the UK, jointers more than 6in wide are hideously expensive to buy. I could see a lot of people taking inspiration from this if they had the intention.
Nice job! Really liked this video. I don't have the room for a jointer that big, so I am going to build a smaller one out of a small electric hand plan.
John, great work on the jointer. I'm looking forward to your table saw design and build. The more I consider making my own tools, the more I see that simplicity is the way to go, while still maintaining the necessary attributes of each tool. Hence...I'll probably buy most of my tools. hahaha Keep on rocking Sir.
I was watching this with my 6 year old and when you got to cutting the belt guard cover on the bandsaw, he said, "he shouldn't be doing that with loose clothes!" I thought that was pretty funny.
John that is impressive results out of a home made machine. Thanks for the videos. Could you do another one on how you adjusted the fence to 90? I need to make one for my big machine. It didnt come with a blade guard for the cutter head.
The on / off button is a bit distant. You could have been a little nicer if you did a little closer. Besides, you did a great job. I wish you good work.
John, I see you're beeing extremely unsafe by not wearing impact armor and a full hazmat suit! For shame! ;) (Sorry, I had to come out from under the bridge!) Anyway, do you have any recommendation for an easy way to move door hinge mounting screws about 1/4"...short of drilling out the holes, gluing in plugs/dowels and re-drilling? I don't want to wallow out the holes in the hinges.
John, what I say, just simply..... WELL DONE!!!!!!!! This was a very informative project to follow. And to all the “Thumbs-down” occasional watchers- GO FOLLOW some other channel.

John, BIG CONGRATULATIONS on getting the jointer completed and off your “to complete” list. Excellent build and retrofitting! Thanks for sharing.
You take the "talking hands" style to the next level. Nice touch with the wacky shots in between, too.

Exactly what I was thinking :)

The fence is an example of perfect simplicity!!!

Absolutely fantastic build and incredible work with filming and video editing!
Your content is top notch John!
Thank you!

I think if I do paint it, I make it a medium grey.

Nice project. Simple, functional and affordable. Well done!
Awesome build! Straight forward, clear instructions great job John!
That was a LONG yet BEAUTIFUL project!
allways nice to watch your videos. Kepp 'em coming!
Simplicity at its finest.
Did you go to school for engineering, or are you just naturally gifted? You have a great minds-eye and attention to detail. Wonderful build!
Not too many screws. ;-)

nice simple solution to the fence
Very nice! That's a good looking jointer. I applaud your ingenuity. I also really liked the cinematic shots you threw in this one.
It was a long haul John, but it seemed worth it. Love your projects and videos.
You did a wonderful job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Even my misses thinks you did a good job and it looks good too
Just as I started to show my partner your unique mouth camera technique you cut to sanding and my neck automatically tilted. Haha. Nice build.
Thanks for this "final chapter" on the jointer, John! It's been a long time coming....
BTW: Get a guard on that angle grinder, dude!!! :-|
John, great work on the jointer.

Thanks :)
Fantastics job! I'm glad you're finally finished with it. Many blessings to you!
Nice build! This may be off topic, but I’m going to try my hand in building a door for my son’s room... I will be following your video!!
That looks terrific ! Thanks for sharing !
Nice one John really enjoyed this build and can't believe how awesome it turned out 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
After watching this I'm never throwing anything away again
Nice build man. I really enjoyed the series, well done.
Great series of videos. Really enjoyed seeing the whole process
Great job John!
Nicely done. Thanks for the series.
finally, now it's ready for some green paint
That's a Wandellian thing to say!!!! ;) Esp. on a Heiszian channel! (spelling from a comment on Dominic's channel)
Nice! Sounds good!
Very talented John! 👍
Very nice. Maybe time for a dust collection system?
I was watching this with my 6 year old and when you got to cutting the belt guard cover on the bandsaw, he said, "he shouldn't be doing that with loose clothes!"

Looking good John! 👍👊
great job
That's awesome. Thanks you.

nice jointer makes me want to build one (someday)
Make's me want to build one. Good job.
Nice job.
Looks good John.... Are you happy with it so far? Now onto the table saw....
Dificil é entender o que voce fala srsrsrsr seus videos são ótimos. Parabéns .
Awesome.
How about making a thicknessplaner from wood just like normal ones
Enjoy your videos. What construction adhesive do you use. All that I have tried are too stiff to spread. Thanks for the help.
What’s your plans with the table saw and why’d you get rid of the old one? Additionally where do you get your screws?!
Love it!
Excellent!
Marvelous :)
Sweet!!! So, "HOW MANY SCREWS"?
The on / off button is a bit distant. You could have been a little nicer if you did a little closer. Besides, you did a great job. I wish you good work.
How about making a thickness planer
Nice work John. Good to see it finished. What's the outro music?
John, you wouldn’t by chance have plans for this build would you? Mike
Excellent job! One question, does it matter for the link belt's direction?
Now that you mention it... I think so, but I've forgotten which way would be ideal.
seems you install at the wrong direction John

She‘s a beauty for sure! 🤗👍🏻
How many screws ? i don't know, you tell me !
The answer is: 4! Or maybe 6 with the 2 on top?
John, I see you're beeing extremely unsafe by not wearing impact armor and a full hazmat suit! For shame! ;) (Sorry, I had to come out from under the bridge!)

wow!
Why is the fence adjust even needed?
I would have guessed a fixed fence on the side would be enough, provided it was perpendicular to the table.
GOOD
4 screws
Powermatic and Grizzly better get out of the way
Jointer rivalry with Matthias
yeah, what next? :-)
four!
There... are... FOUR... screws!!!
TNG, loved that episode.
John, what I say, just simply..... WELL DONE!!!!!!!! This was a very informative project to follow. And to all the “Thumbs-down” occasional watchers- GO FOLLOW some other channel.
Good video, as usual, but the unsteady hand held camera work combined with speeding things up made me physically nauseous.
Tripod shots for the win!
ruclips.net/video/RiwlzZ0T7Io/видео.html
How much are you selling it for lol
20 screws
There's no such thing as scrap wood! Just pieces not yet used.
LOL you make a belt guard for the jointer but you take the shield off your grinder and dont use a riving knife. Odd.
4 screws
