Great to see such a measured response to all of this from you, Louie! I won't name names, but it's been sad to see so many of the prominent voices in the community spreading so much unnecessary FUD. This video is a perfect example of how to comment on things while continuing to spread enthusiasm about the game and not letting the echo chamber of online toxicity pull down the community.
Sounds like it’s time to buy AL if you waited. Every price drop is an opportunity. I bought AL at $130 a box, then $117 and now I might buy more. Love this set!
To be clear, this wave of AL was not a reprint it was the delayed product. Stores who ordered for the initial wave were upheld to take the entire order despite the botched AL release by Curiosa. The bahumbug is the reprint of beta. 100% agree that reprint waves should be restricted to stores who have recorded events via curiosa and genuinely need boxes for events. Not stores who want the free tendies because of the price of beta vs. distribution cost. Forcing stores to take product 7 weeks after release because your botched logistics is definitely a great way to tank your market when they planned to potentially have already moved that product for capital to be available for upcoming releases.
They communicated reprints of AL... I think what people are frustrated with is the additional printing of Beta cards. At some point they are going to have people lose faith in the product, which will hurt everybody.
People here in Europe are frustrated because this is a great game and no one can play it because there isn't product for us. Beta reprint is necessary here.
There is a certain RUclips channel with the initials L.I. that always spews negativity. Most of what he says is just crap and honestly, at this point, I'm wondering if WOTGREED is secretly paying him to bash Sorcery or if he just tries to get views from negativity instead of actually being talented and making good videos. He says he likes Sorcery, but I'm honestly doubting his true intentions. Don't listen to the negativity from people like him who truly don't have the games' best interests at heart. This is a wonderful channel that does a great job of pointing out the good and bad in a manner that helps the game we love succeed. Sorcery is a top-tier gem, and I'm very excited for the future moving forward. God Bless ❤
This "Team Covenant has an infinite supply of Beta" argument is total garbage. First and foremost, we have ZERO clue if anyone are even buying those boxes. Secondly, TC isn't widley known in the tcg space, they don't even carry Magic. As far as Sorcery goes, I think the 'overprint' people are half right. You can't have a set get printed with fewer boxes than the previous one but not telling anyone the print numbers is a good tactic. It's sniper vs shotgun marketing and I think a new tcg almost always needs a shotgun to get enough penetration in an overly saturated market. The difference between the 15th most popular tcg and the 14th seems like a chasm to me. If Sorcery can grab enough people to keep the printers running then they have a future to grow into. I think what's really important is to come out from the get go and tell your customers what you're going to do. If you're Lorcana then you told everyone you're printing into the dirt to get a slice of this hobby. Sorcery seems to be the sniper here and leaning towards the quality but if you're going to do that then you really should underprint every set.
Very good points. During kickstarter, Eric or Simon made a statement that they would aim at a slightly lower print thsn the actual demand, wich a compromise between collector and players. However this tactic is hard to implement as no one really knows precisely what "demand" in numbers is. I have confidence that they know what they are doing.
I just got into Sorcery. I started out with a box of AL. The big issue was, I couldn't really get great decks going with just AL. I HAD to buy a box of Beta in order to be able to build creative decks and really experience the ruleset. EC/TC should have, instead of printing more Beta, printed an "Unlimited" reusing the same art as Beta but as a "Core Set". This "Core" would be all the main cards people are using, with the next smaller sets being expansions that build on it. I don't mind that Beta got a reprint, but they should be clear that Beta is essentially "Unlimited".
I really can't think of a modern TCG with better art than this. MTG is too flashy and AI-ish. FAB is nice but normal and they have been leaning into anime, all the pokemon and anime TCgs don't really appeal to me.
We need product to be around so new players can actually play.... people just want free tendies
I hear you can get metazoo now for real cheap. Now new players have easy access to it to play.
@silverwolf6866 metazoo was trash.
@@silverwolf6866this guy is leaving the same stupid comments about metazoo on every yt video. Pathetic.
@@breadguytv But it's cheap bro. Players can actually play the game now and no need to worry about tendies. Hopefully same happens to sorcery right?

As if some people want to make it a self fulfilling Prophecy. Alrdy have a friend wanting to quit because of the "toxic community"
Yes, lets cancel and silence people whose opinions we don't like. Or possibly we can address their concerns.... Neh canceling them is easier lol
Thats what the main stream media has been doing for years now!@@silverwolf6866

Sub 100, sorry for your loss.
@@Barrager69I opened all of it. So much fun.

@ thanks boss.

@@osgalion Having a "base set" product on the shelf would be a huge bonus. That was something they needed to start working on a year ago.

WOTC literally gives no shits about this boardgame cosplaying tcg
Shout out from MakDow county WV Louie
It held up worst then fab better then kryptik which held up better the metazoo. In short this is the pump timeline of Louie.

As much beta that is speculated to be printed now, may as well be infinite.

Players don't exist outside of the internet. This is not a game. It's a speculate investment only
Hahahaha oops!
I'll be in the stream to support ya but i don't have any money this week to participate 😢
I opened 3 cases looking for a gilded card, none so far lol. Guess I'll keep getting cases for fun until I find one.
