Lorraine fell in love with Hull after being invited to performing at Hull Pride. "From the art gallery to the chip shop, people were incredibly friendly."
Lorraine was inspired to write this song after winning David Walliams' Golden Buzzer on Britain's Got Talent and being asked to perform in Hull. Lorraine found a boisterous city being regenerated with a great University student population, beautiful historic buildings, a unique past and interesting museums. Lorraine was inspired to write the song and she says 'it almost wrote itself with a bit of a hand from me'!
Lorraine was delighted to discover that Hull is City of Culture in 2017 and hopes that her lyrics in Give My Love to Hull will be a fitting tribute to the city.
The 'Give My Love to Hull' video was produced, directed and edited by award winning film maker, Kate Sullivan, who thrives on creating lo-fi/hi-fi visuals with a terrific British sense of humour.

This is relatable
I got the link to this song from a neighbour in the village. In the village by Hull where my , just a second, my great great great grandfather was born. He was baptised in Hull and then, a young boy, went to St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1812. To look for fortunes. In the result, I write from St. Petersburg. And we are still good neighbours :o) with the lady who sent me this song. Long live Hull! And - good neighbours!

Thank you for the woderful song and kind words; I wrote back to the friend that it is a strategic song ! :o composed as if specially for me! Yes, the story is worthy is novel, you should have seen me on arrival to the family nest place. I am afraid I caused a furore in the quiet village wandering with a directory round the church, finding out East and South, looking for tombstones or neighbours or something. The whole eh? church committee gathered round me finally as rumour spread round that there is a girl from Russia standing there silly, arrived by taxi :oO asking for the tombstones "just 200 years ago they were here" or some neighbours who would recognise her :oO. All began to turn up familt cushions in the church in case ours survived :o)
