this scenario has been done a number of times with different endings....in one the Husband (who instructed to kill his wife) chases around to find the letter and then in desperation comes home, goes into another room, you hear a gunshot from him committing suicide just then the doorbell rings and it's the postman with the letter coming back for insufficient postage.
@laurencefisher1 I am not sure if you are being sarcastic, but the scenario I laid out was presented on Four Star Play House with David Niven starring.. I didn't write it I am only repeating the story line. Another scenario had a happy ending. It was a woman who sends a letter to her husband asking for a divorce, after posting it she changes her mind and runs all over town desperately trying to find it filing paper work to retrieve it etc. ... she is despondent and contemplating suicide and the mail is dropped thru the slot in her door... she goes through it slowly and than suddenly smiles with relief because the letter she posted has been returned for insufficient postage. She rips it up and burns it in the fireplace.
Just watched the full episode. it ends, as it does here. With the inference the letter was sent, her husband is now DEAD hence a good chance of cops finding the letter and her being arrested
Casie Calhoun she put both letters in the envelope. One letter was to her lover, a plot to kill her husband, and the second letter was a love letter to her husband that the police would later open, that letter was to throw the cops off. However, she mailed both letters.
