Which Enigma? This band was created in 1990 and this album came out in December, 1990. There was an '80s band that had some hits the 80s but none in 1989.

Been into enigma since the very beginning. I used to listen to 104 krbe at night when I was a kid. Sadness was the number 1 hit at the time. I would go to sleep listening to that song. I was probably about 8 years old at the time. I am 41 now. And still jamming enigma. There is something about this music that puts my mind at ease. It takes me back to the happiest days of my life. I listen to it and I just forget about everything. Whether I have had a shitty day at work or whatever. It just helps me relax. Enigma takes me back to a great time and transitional period of my life. In my 30's, living very hedonistically, everything to excess, and too fast[literally]. This music soothed me, when I was in need of decompression. It was time to grow-up, slow the pace, quit the poisons...and expand the use my primary and strongest organ. My intellectual-brain started to overtake the primal urges. Everything settled in to a more stable and thought-driven life.
I back pack and as I walks through the many trails it is Enigma and sings such as this that I travel with. At 56 years of age and no longer with the younger crowd...to all of those out there that are in their teens twenty's and even thirty's. Enjoy life while you have it it's not going to be around much longer.

My uncle was in filming/ recording and recalls working with Enigma in the “rivers for beliefs “ video in which Sandra is running through the plant field. She was asked to run barefoot but said it hurt her so Cretu found some big ugly boots for her and she wore a white dress so the boots would not show! I came to share the story because I remember enigma from the sadeness of the 90’s. Thanks!

Brilliant, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I've been a huge Enigma fan from the very start, can't believe how many years this takes me back! Back to The Rivers Of Belief (with 3 songs melding into one) has always been my fave. First heard when 15, now am 39 (yikes 40 in a few months!). Not many back then my age shared my passion for this. Was rather stoked when Sliver was released along with "Carly's Song". To me, no one around me knw Enigma. I slowly introduced friends but always felt like they were my little discovery. So was rather fabulous them doing Carly's Song as yep, I'm Carly. Odd though, this version stops then starts, the original blends from one song to the next?

Had heard bits before Sadness was released & it just hit me big time, then Sadness hit the charts. Despite that it wasn't that popular, I was the only one at boarding school with the CD - there must have been about 200 at least of us, co-ed. Friends appreciated it a bit more when I was in yr 12....probably because most spent that year stoned & discovered you REALLY appreciate it then. Typical at 16 lol. 1976 here too. My name was unusual here for those times (it's more common now), had never heard anyone else with the same name until "Sliver" & the two songs done by Enigma oher than who I was named after. Wasn't hard to work out who my mum's favourite singer was in 1976 lol.

My uncle was in filming/ recording and recalls working with Enigma in the “rivers for beliefs “ video in which Sandra is running through the plant field. She was asked to run barefoot but said it hurt her so Cretu found some big ugly boots for her and she wore a white dress so the boots would not show! I came to share the story because I remember enigma from the sadeness of the 90’s. Thanks!

Brilliant, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I've been a huge Enigma fan from the very start, can't believe how many years this takes me back! Back to The Rivers Of Belief (with 3 songs melding into one) has always been my fave. First heard when 15, now am 39 (yikes 40 in a few months!).
Not many back then my age shared my passion for this. Was rather stoked when Sliver was released along with "Carly's Song".
To me, no one around me knw Enigma. I slowly introduced friends but always felt like they were my little discovery. So was rather fabulous them doing Carly's Song as yep, I'm Carly.
Odd though, this version stops then starts, the original blends from one song to the next?

I first heard it here in Tas, Australia :-). Had heard bits before Sadness was released & it just hit me big time, then Sadness hit the charts.
Despite that it wasn't that popular, I was the only one at boarding school with the CD - there must have been about 200 at least of us, co-ed. Friends appreciated it a bit more when I was in yr 12....probably because most spent that year stoned & discovered you REALLY appreciate it then. Typical at 16 lol.
1976 here too. My name was unusual here for those times (it's more common now), had never heard anyone else with the same name until "Sliver" & the two songs done by Enigma oher than who I was named after.
Wasn't hard to work out who my mum's favourite singer was in 1976 lol.
