Despite coming from an era of questionable designs, I rather like this one. Unique but not silly form, effective layout, and variants that truly vary from the original.
I use to run aa pair of these that both dropped the LRMs for a pair of MRM 10's 2 tn ammo one added a Tag and left the SL the other dropped the SL and filled the last 1.5 tns with a Med Laser and half a ton of armor. they were the tweedles ... Dee and Dum my scout/scout hunter spotters.
I mean it would have been sooner way back when if PGI ever bothered to add it to MWO but they never did and likely never will. But hey it finally arrived :D
Hello CR. I rather like the Anubis, but not the one with the missiles. No, my preferred variant is the ABS-3T that mounts a single ER Large Laser, two ER Medium Lasers, and a single ER Small Laser. With 12 IS-DSHS, the Mech can fire the Large and both Mediums and run and still remain cool. It is only when you add the ER Small that you gain 2 heat. So, my favored variation upon this variant is to drop the ER Small Laser in favor of a half to more armor. Otherwise, everything else is standard to the 3T variant. The first time I ran this 'sub-variant' of the Anubis, my opponent was so sure that he had penetrated my armor that he began rolling for critical hits, before he found out that I had a half ton more armoring, and his shot did not, in fact, penetrate. He argued about it, and I just handed over my Mech sheet to him and told him about the change to the basic design of the ABS-3T. The difference between the side torsos having 9 or 10 armor points was the difference between his two 'standard' medium laser hits to that side torso penetrating, or not. My gaining the Initiative the next turn of the battle, and being fast enough to catch him and maneuver behind his Mech, allowing me to 'core' his unit, did not help things... in his mind. He complained, loudly, to the person being the 'battle master' of the game, only for said 'official' to look over my change and merely nod. Declaring it a 'legal' alteration of the design.
The Aurigan Reach canonically fell apart a few years after the restoration. The civil war pretty well wrecked them. Coromidir had nuclear/chemical fallout ruining a ton of it from the Iberia crashing, so their economy was kind of wrecked.
Based on canon... the Aurigans stop existing by the time of the clan invasion and have become independent worlds. So some of their worlds getting absorbed by other states is not an issue per the current lore.
None of the images seem to match its weapons... at least both guns and missile launchers. first image is kinda adorable, and I recall seeing this as the first light mech in Mech Commander 2. Woo more light mechs!
First time I met this mech was mechcommader 2
A great choice of mech there.
I have fond memories of using these to race around the map to capture resource points and turret controls.

Seven years after the Osiris, finally we got the Anubis!

Those 3 artworks are radically different from each other. And disappointingly none of them looks jackal-like.
And weirdly one of the few 3067 'mechs to have more than a single piece of artwork as well. It's a shame the art couldn't stay consistent though.

Wait....how the hell did a Cybrid get into Battletech??? Seriously, the first bit of artwork reminded me of Goad and Seeker Hercs.
I really wish a new Supreme Commander would be announced.
My favorite variant is in MWLL it has stealth armor, 2 light PPC and 4 HMG with unlimited ammo.

I remember these from mech commander 2
A Marx Brothers reference?!

To give a lousy mech a godlike name... 🤦♂
