  • Come on a trip shopping with me to see what a UK supermarket is like in London! All the groceries from fresh food, cake (obviously), Easter eggs and drinks. At the end I'll show you how much it was, and a comparison to all the other major supermarkets in the UK. Where do you shop?!
Please note this trip is within UK guidelines, just grabbed my camera to show you the experience 😊
Thanks for watching, let me know you enjoyed it with subscribing and also give it a thumbs up 👍🏻 💕💌

I was an exchange student in the UK coming from Norway in 2015 and I remember often going to a small Tesco store quite close to the dorm halls I stayed in so this video brings back a lot of good memories! Nice selection of items and I always find it exciting to watch videos filmed inside foreign grocery stores to see how items differ from the ones here in Norway! :)

We have lived in the UK years ago and always remember the groceries to be very reasonable. The fresh veggies and government standards regarding food much better than here in the USA. I also walked more and generally felt more healthy living there.I remember loving to go to M&S for a quick pickup for picnic lunch. Thanks for sharing.

As an American who spends a lot of time in England, I'm always amazed at the incredible amount of cakes, cookies, biscuits and candy offered in the food stores - it seems way more than what we're used to in the US. I'm also consistently impressed by the quantity of what looks to be decent prepared food compared to our markets at reasonable prices. Always interested in your videos - thanks!

I lived in States briefly and when I returned home I literally swooned in Sainsbury. I missed supermarkets so much. Only US market I actually liked for quality was Trader Joe's. Standard markets in US were quite bland and so much overly processed foods.

@@KittyKat-vb1nd , Our regular US supermarkets are full of such junk. Huge aisles filled with junk candy and junk cereal, so much gross processed food. I don’t buy any of that and it’s scary people shop there for their kids and family. We do have high end grocery stores that are super nice. I go there for some things and I also go to Grocery Outlet for others or midrange stores like Sprouts. I view Trader Joe’s as a snack store gimmick so I’m not too into it but they have a few good things at good prices. I only like the high end stores where you get substantial and real food for the money so it’s actually cheaper and goes a long way.

Thank you for showing what your supermarket shops look like, it is soooooo interesting, not sure why people would give negative feed back over this video! Maybe they don’t have anything better to do lol I’m a kiwi currently living in Australia, and find your shopping expeditions very interesting, the supermarkets in NZ are different to the ones here in Australia, the bakery’s in NZ are massive as they bake in store, here they don’t seam to bake quite as much in store, I guess it depends on the store size. Different. countries definitely have different items. Keep up the interesting vlogs, look forward to them every time I get a notification ❤️

I love to go to grocery stores in other countries! I hate going to the grocery store here in the US. I am a regular shopper at Whole Foods because it’s organic. I saw that there is a Whole Foods in London. I do know that foods and drink from Austria, France and Italy do not have pesticides, so are pretty much organic. I also buy things in my grocery from Ireland, butter and salt. I also know that food from Spain in any grocery store is LADEN with CHEMICALs! I know this is an older video. So much has happened in 3 years, but I'd love another video like this one. @3:44 you showed cashews and the price label said 1.15 pounds? I'd like to know the size. I just bought raw cashews and it's over $9, which would be 7.2 pounds? The sizing is smaller, but still. Inflation in the U.S. is astronomical.

I do enjoy watching videos of "everyday" stores in different countries. I've seen lots of grocery store videos in Asian countries - absolutely stunned by how much better their 7-Elevens are than here in North America (do you have 7-Eleven in the UK). Even at home, i generally buy our groceries at a big chain store markets but I do enjoy going to the smaller ones - in Canada I like Sobey's and FarmBoy - because you can find different products that the other doesn't carry. When the pandemic and lockdown started for us back in March 2020 I discovered home delivery for groceries and we place orders every week. Just like you there are occasionally things I missed or run out of or some items that don't show up on the delivery website but I know they have in store.

I love a supermarket vlog. When you see food items for $1 pound or less it seems so cheap lol always enjoy comparing the differences for Canada & English prices & brands. We are lucky we have so much cadbury here its the best. Will be fun to see all the Easter stuff out.

Love the shopping adventure; great to see price and products. Ha ha ha.. Now a general shopping trip seems almost dangerous... green lights, clean your hands, dont touch, keep your distance, what to choose, clean everything afterwards... I was surprised there was not a Valentine's section... maybe a small Chinese New Year section (maybe when closer, some quick make at home take away)

I know right! Valentine’s we will get a bit but it’s not massive here. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Chinese New Year section ever in a supermarket here.. we seem to just want Easter chocolate 😬

I DID love this! Made me miss the UK even more... I visited London in 2015 and ever since I returned I've had this recurring dream in which I FINALLy go to Tesco again, to buy choc digestives and ALL THE PG TIPS and more biscuits and jams and... british supermarkets are amazing, even the smaller ones. If you think tesco express is not that well stocked... then you should see how sad supermarkets are here in Argentina. In that dream of mine I also go to Boots. Hey, a girl can dream... right?

We moved to Europe from North America with my family and we are shocked everything we see people in the UK specifically saying the prices are high, just before moving a single tomato was 4 $, a head of brocoli 12 $, a can of chickpea almost 4/5 $, a jar of tomato sauce 12 $, a regular bag of pasta 4 $ etc... Cost of food was more than a " normal " rent which is to me insane. Now we are in Europe and we are baffled by how cheap the things are in supermarkets ( not only ALDI and LIDL but everywhere truly )

I’m in LA - literally in Hollywood - and those prices are generally below what I pay with the conversion. Some things I could get cheaper if I wanted to drive into the valley or east/south but that’s not going to happen. When I previously lived in San Francisco & Palo Alto it was slightly more expensive unless I exclusively shopped at Trader Joe’s. San Diego was the best prices but it was more of a drive to the store not walk or order online.

Hi Hannah, it was very strange to see in your store that there was only one door on your cold things🤔... unless I saw it wrong 🤷‍♀️your prices are I think pretty comparable to ours in the US except your biscuits are much cheaper! We pay at least 3.99/4.99 for your biscuits! I do love them with my tea😋❤️ so I pay it😂 I agree there are some things that I am willing to spend the money on and other things I am not... we just watched the inauguration of our new president which we are so grateful for and hopeful!!!! Finally 🙏❤️ and I just said to my husband the only thing that would make this day better is if Hannah puts out another video, I know sooner said that and there you were❤️😂🙏 like Magic lol. Thanks for taking us along fully enjoyed it! Be safe my dear❤️🙏xx and healthy!

We have Tunnock's Tea Cakes here in the US, but we have to get them World Market. When I got them, my mom said "Oh we used to have those when I was a girl!!" Once I picked some up and this lady came up to me and said, "Oh I am from the same town in England where these are made!" It was such a treat to meet her.

I don’t know why but I’m always amazed at how many brands in British stores are also in American stores lol. I guess that’s due to the giant multinational food companies there are. Also I see a lot of things that are the same but sold under different names. Cheers

We love ready made meals in America haha! Our produce in southern California is dirt cheap, I imagine because of where we are situated and we produce a lot of it in this state. We also like noodle cups out here. I remember being out in your neck of the woods and going to Marks and Spencers quite a bit for ready-made sandwiches. I filmed the one by St. Paul’s Cathedral. I hate chocolate and orange!!! So gross! We do love our cereal and granola out here. Veggie chips are pointless! Finally someone else said it! Enjoy your grocery haul!

I love these videos I am in Trinidad & Tobago ..that haul will easily run a bit $200 TTD ( about 20 Quid) the precut mangoes will be super expensive even here in the Caribbean where we have mango trees on every corner ( prob about 50ttd /6 Pound)

  • @genevieveyraola1946
    @genevieveyraola1946 3 года назад

The equivalent is about $18 USD, but I think in New York City people here have a wide variety of different foods shops to choose from. We have Trader Joe's that have an amazing creative assortment of snacks, breads, and meats that at $18 would be double of what you just bought and with most of their products they aim to produce with no-GMOs. We have our outdoor GreenMarkets open 2x a week that have organic produce and meats sold direct by local farmers themselves, Chinatown and Japanese groceries are also much cheaper than the traditional groceries, even Whole Foods, since they were bought by Amazon, have gone down in prices and offer more promos. We've started also the bring-your-bag rule here as well. But in the grocery you were in, I have never seen so much plastic and packaged foods. I love almond milk as well. Just make sure it doesn't contain carrageenan. Also be aware of opting for margarine versus butter. Margarine has been used as a "heart healthy" substitute, but really its a HIGHLY PROCESSED food made to look and taste like butter. It's a much healthier option going for grass-fed butter and just cut down your portions. Food for thought :)

Wow, def a bit more expensive than in Bristol. I do find that the stores in London often carry more variety than the west country though.
