NOTE: Make sure you also loosen the 14mm nut on the idler pulley next to the Alternator to help loosen Adjustment screw. And make sure to tighten it back up!... That Video clip did not record.

I had watched another RUclips video prior to viewing yours. Unfortunately, the guy didn't mention the 14mm (hidden bolt).
He only said you have to push the power steering pump very hard after backing out the tensioner adjustment screw.
I pushed, and pushed until I was blue in the face. I figured there must be another bolt holding it.

Nice vid and it definitely clear you know what you are doing but I couldn’t help but to notice the lack of a jack stand when you went under the car. I was a tech for several years and now work as a firefighter and paramedic and man I can tell you first hand it’s not worth it to skimp on the jack stand. It’s not a pretty site when the car falls onto the person either killing them or seriously injuring them. It’s essentially trusting your life with a little dinky jack o-ring! Not trying to be a dick at all I just don’t want you to get hurt or worse and for people watching your video and copying what they saw. Always support the car with a stand. Please!!

The belts you mentioned are very confusing to me. I’m in the same boat right now fixing the belt on this stupid car. The first belt you said was too short is a 40.5” belt… the one you said worked is a 43.6”.
I have a 44” and it is not even close.
I have the adjusters and PS pump and alternator sucked all the way in.
    Got a 48” and a 50” to try

    Nathan,
    Good morning,
    1. As for as the adjustment rod and screw goes....it sounds like you loosened the rod first then backed the screw all the way out.
    2. The powersteering nut just loosen it correct? Also what is the torq spec or snug?
3.the alternator adj screw what is the torq spec on it?
    4. As for steps (one) bottom powersteering bolt, (two) (optional 12mm alt bracket bolts) 14mm alternator adj bolt, (three) secondary pulley bolt loosen, (four) loosen ps bracket adj rod, and (last) backout ps adj nut all the way out then replace both belts

    • @settripsbunch
      @settripsbunch 5 лет назад

      Theory
The alternator has a tensioner of its own
      And
The powersteering has the rod and adj screw
