This guy is waaay under rated as an actor. I loved his personable nature and his subtle inflections.
Great job by Pete here, getting more than just answers from Glenn. Sometimes when an interviewer asks their subject to participate in a bit, you see them reluctantly play along, but Pete had Glenn genuinely engaged. Fun to watch.

That was PHENOMENAL. In a split second he just stopped being Glenn entirely. His entire identity and personality just changed instantly. That was impressive.

THIS. This right here is why Glenn needs more leading dramatic roles. His acting is so subtle, but so intense at the same time. SUCH an underappreciated actor.
I dont think id say he is underappreciated. Sunny is by and far the best comedy around right now and has been for years. People LOVEEE how intense his portrayal is. Dudes an amazing actor, he graduated from Julliard with fine arts. I think he is pretty damn well appreciated. 10 years ago id call Sandler under appreciated cause his comedies are just pure and unadulterated trash. But his recent roles have proven that he is a GREAT actor and was at least underappreciated back when he was doing comedy.

I'm actually really glad he said he doesn't think Dennis has BPD - I always thought that was off. He comes across more as an NPD type or a sociopath... very different from borderline.
It’s really a shame he isn’t in way more things. He’s by far the best actor on sunny, not counting Danny DeVito of course.

I love the little bit of improv at the end. Just seeing Glenn turn into Dennis before my eyes was great.
Sunny is not a show that has ever had to spoon feed to their audience, very subtle very nuanced and very meta. I’d hate to see them come right out and say Dennis has killed someone.
Subtle? Lol no, it’s more like the three stooges on acid.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand It's Always Sunny. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Dennis' nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Sunny truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Dennis' existential catchphrase "Do you have any parrots in this pet store?," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Glenn Howerton's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have an Always Sunny tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
But the writing of the latest seasons has changed and they point certain things out. Like Mac coming out of the closet. It worked but changed sunnys original tone.
He's admitted testing the tensile strength of multiple birds' necks. I don't think that parrot is safe either way.

No joke, Glenn really understands sociopaths beyond just how they're portrayed in pop culture. The fact that he doesn't believe Dennis is one, plus the way he explained "needing to get the right answer" shows that.

I'm always thrilled when Mac gives Dennis a glimpse and Dennis just yells out 'LOOK AT ME WHEN YOU'RE TALKING TO ME' and in fraction of a second he's calm.

Dennis is really perfecting his “Glenn Howerton” persona.
Smart move to leave it to the imagination regarding whether or not Dennis has killed anyone. I think for me to learn that he has would ruin the character for me, making it too dark. I like to think it’s a fantasy of his he’ll never act on, although he thinks he might and keeps the necessary tools to do so.
A future episode may reveal if Dennis has ever killed.

But they try to push through and be personable to promote their latest thing. I like how they're like that actually, not overly fitting in to the Hollywood scene.

as someone who has borderline personality disorder, dennis definitely has it. glenn probably doesnt know much about bpd as he says he doesnt think dennis is sociopathic therefore not borderline, when borderline couldnt be farther from sociopathy

This was one of the most fascinating interviews ive seen and says a lot about a lot of the "talent" on other tv programs
I can totally understand Glenn here when he says he has to mention explicitly that he is serious in order to have a serious conversation with someone who knows him only from the show.

EDIT: I also wonder if Glenn has encountered this Twitter handle before. It would be even funnier if he knows who that is exactly and that he is using this interview to control the narrative in terms of putting the idea out in the public that, 'Yes, indeed, Glenn Howerton is interested in directing, Hollywood'.
Dennis doesn't have "borderline" personality disorder, he crossed that border and built a cabin in the mountains years ago.
