Barry Sherman sued literally everyone including the police department, their house builder, and over 1,000 cases just against the government, not to mention his business lawsuits and the very controversial lawsuit by his cousins claiming that he owed them each 5% of the drug company Apotex when the original owner, Barry's uncle, the then orphaned cousins' father, died.
Anyone of his enemies, including his own son whom one of Barry's daughter accused him of murdering their father, could have hired the killer or killers.
This is a case of too many enemies.

I thought I read there was thousands of lawsuits against Barry over the years and he was known for not paying even if he lost. Marketing generic drugs would make some people mad who make huge profits from a non generic drug. Even though the police look incompetent regarding not even having charged anyone there are lots of loose ends.... No security at the house which amazes me considering he was worth supposedly 5 billion.

    • @incognitotorpedo42

Generic drug makers don't make "enemies". When a drug goes off patent, everyone knows that the generics makers will swoop in and make it. That is standard pharma business behavior. No hard feelings; it's what happens. Everyone expects it. They weren't killed for that. Just from what I read in the comments, it sounds like the guy made a lot of enemies through his own behavior.

I was hoping that mention would be made about the construction of the Residence. That it was not up to the Sherman's satisfaction. That they had shown their displeasure by suing the Architects and Builders. And that they had no intention of paying for the building. Perhaps the Sale was to get rid of the building to settle the above
I am not sure if this was in the Toronto Star or Sun or Globe and Mail. Or some blog.
If the above is true, then it bothers me that nowhere is this mentioned as a possible motive whenever this case is rehashed.
As for the Toronto Police. For the past forty years they have been in decline.
Since my arrival in August of 1974 to the present i have seen a Service hamstrung and interfered with
and unable to best represent the Finest They Could be. AND it is not for lack of Funding - Goof- Ball Mayors - Police Association that did not care for its members - spending the dues on defending the really bad eggs thereby demoralizing the Frontliners at large.
Instead of "carding" Everybody - Black, Brown, Yellow, Red and White All the time.Everyday. In all parts of the City Pre and Post Amalgamation. They favoured one group. Hopefully someone will have the skills to do a Coldfusion style video on the tps. Focusing on when the rot really got in when they switched from the old style holstered hand guns to the glocks.
Not holding my breath. And instead of focusing on who would benefit from Shermens demise i would focus on who would have an axe to grind.
