I live nearby and see the Belugas regularly. This is a well put together video, slightly speeded up on some of the taxiing shots to good effect for overall pacing. Congratulations on resisting any background music and for the excellent use of the radio comms. Lucky timing to get rhe train and the spectacular overhead turn and banking is also well captured.
This is due to the wing size , since this aircraft only requires a taller fuselage and not a wider wing-span, it is not necessary to use 4 engines for thrust. It's called wing-loading. The aircraft also does not carry extremely heavy elements, in fact, a lot of what it carries are wings made of aircraft aluminum. Very light substances relatively speaking.
The runway is 6600ft long. Having seen the Belugas operate from Toulouse which has an 11,000ft runway you can really see the difference. Thanks for watching mate :)
Going through all of my old comments mate and I cannot believe I didn't reply to you on this one. Well we've been there together now haha. Happy days :D Thanks so much for watching this one 😊
I believe the AIRBUS pilot was french, very hard to understand his english. But ATC are grilled on understanding a variety of accents and thus, they are tested on this type of speech and even harder to understand dialect accents and slang. They are masters of communication and have the utmost rigorous challenging auditory tests and speech tests.
Thanks very much. Not really, other than I would have a filter set on the flightradar24 app for the Beluga and once one is en route to Chester then head along to catch it land (make sure you're no more than 1hr away from the airport) otherwise you could waste a whole day waiting for nothing.

Why only 2 engines for such a big plane?
2 engines are better than one.

It's size is underrated, the antonov 225 gets all the attention when the beluga's height could very well be more than the 225
That is so true.
U used to see the Concorde flying above my grand parents house at 11h20 AM near Roissy Paris :)
Nice one 👍
Really cool to see the Beluga takeoff! Very interesting looking bird! Liked!
Cheers mate, it was great to be in North Wales to see it. Thanks .
That really looks like a short runway! Stunning view on the landing, fantastic work Jonathan! :)

Brilliant video, glad you managed to catch it second time round! This makes me want to go to EGNR even more now, liked!

It certainly is. The new Beluga A330 XL is even larger.
I love how they took it thru the grass 😂
🤣
It’s a whale plane made to transport whales 🐳
Haha. I cannot wait to see the new A330 Beluga XL 😁👍
Great Video Jonathan. We seen all of them last month, hahaha.
Cheers Dan. We did indeed haha.

They are operated by French crews mainly yes. However there are a mix of international pilots within Airbus who fly them also.
Awesome catch!
Cheers mate :)
Wow. Big plane!!
It sure is mate. Thanks for watching.
THE BIRDS FLYING AROUND GIVES ME SO MUCH ANXIETY :((
I would not worry about them as there are procedures in place to make sure they are kept away as much as possible.
@@JonathanWinton123 at 6:21 that looks pretty close though!!
Great video! Any tips for Beluga spotting? I’m thinking of heading down myself soon.

I managed to go down yesterday and saw #3 land. I waited out at MAN until I got a FR ping then set off.
Really awesome machine!
That's brilliant. Pleased you finally managed to see one mate.
Only 2 engines!!??
Only 2 needed.
Looks like jimmy neutron if he was a plane.
I had to Google who that was haha
is the runway very short or beluga just so big? xD
A little bit of both.
We saw it today, not expecting it, it was kinda scary we didn't know what it was
It is an amazing aircraft to see.
How often does it fly to Chester? And how long does it take to unlock before returning to Airbus in Hamburg?
Daily usually, or sometimes every 2 days depending on demand (which isn't high at the moment so production is being slowed).
Is the 4 for Giant 4head 🤣
Probably 😂
Tammy Slaton in plane form.
Well thats a new one.
Here comes Megamind.
That is a new name for it 😂
4:36 playing hide n seek with Boeing :)
