Waited a long time for a Nutri Ninja blade breakdown. I could never figure out how to remove that plastic locking washer until now! One thing to note, when you removed the second bearing and said the little black washers fell out too. One of the washers is actually just part of the broken bearing (the thin rubber one). The thick hard plastic one is the only one you need. Keep it safe as I imagine it is very difficult to replace. It is ever so slightly cone shaped to give it a gradual tight fit. Many thanks for your video, I have just ordered new bearings :)
Hi There, I opened mine today coz it failed. the thin rubber washer which you said is part of the washer, if we just install the hard plastic one and not the thin rubber one, will it not create a gap when we assemble everything back?
@@rajatsingh87Hey. There should be no thin rubber washer. If you see my comment above, this thin rubber piece was not a washer, it was just part of the damaged bearing. You only need the hard plastic washer for the inside :)
Update for the newer model of the Ninja Pro - BL450 series - it has a different style 6 fin drive. In this model they've added a metal locking pin to the plastic locking washer underneath that stops the washer from turning. I had to drill it out with a 5/64 drill bit - was a bit challenging getting it out. After removal of the pin, I found using a pair of channel lock pliers to turn the locking washer worked better for me. Used the channel lock pliers to install the washer also. Thanks for the video. Was a good start for me.
Is there a more detailed and slower video of reassembling the washers and bearings? I got the bearings out but,I can't get both of them back in. What am I doing wrong? Is there a safe grease or other lubricant I should be using? Did I reassemble it correctly? Very confused. 🤔
Correct. Same thing happened with me. For clarification's sake, the lock washer has to be turned clockwise with the Channel Lock and when I was re-assembling I used a small screw locked with Crazy glue instead of the pin.
So one more comment on this... I ordered the appropriate size bearings from Amazon or something. The device worked for about 6 months before again becoming extremely loud, telling that the bearings were going bad. On my second attempt at repair, the bearings were so rusted into the housing that I couldn't get them out without breaking the plastic, so I'm ordering a new one. If you can, order high quality stainless steel bearings. Not sure where... too many cheap items out there.
Thank you! Very clear English, Instructions, and video (no arms in the way) I just changed (and cleaned) the gasket, and saw that another possible issue was the noisy/broken bearings. This video is definitely a keeper!
I would love to see you do a video on removing and cleaning the silicone ring that sits inside the lid. It's where the jar seats as the lid is screwed down. I pulled mine out today. I could not believe the black/brown crud on that silicone ring!. I used a dental pick to loosen it from the sides of the lid, after letting that area soak in hot water.
Amazon shows pictures of how someone put dental floss under the silicon ring and let a couple of inches hang over to pull out the ring after blending in their 900 watt model in the comments.
Very helpful Info, unfortunately I had to order a new blade as the last bearing to remove was fused to the shaft hence I was not able to remove the blade from the base.
First of all. Thanks a ton for making this video. I have bought each and every thing needed for this fix. 1:50 I am having hard time removing plastic locking washer. I don’t think I can apply enough clockwise force on it. Any tips to make it easier?
Awesome! The bearings on mine did not snap right in. But you can tap them in using a socket that is the same size as the bearing diameter and tap them in gently with a hammer tapping around the socket
Nice hack! Thank you so much! Sadly, I'm already going for the third blade lid, the second one (not OEM) got one rubber teeth peeled out, so it is impossible to repair. This hack will save me (and the environment) some bucks and one less plastic lid in a landfill.
I have an updated version in which the plastic seal (referred to as lock washer in the video) is held in place by a tiny brass spring pin. You have to pry the seal away from this pin in order to be able to rotate it clockwise to disengage. Pry it high enough so that it completely clears the brass pin while turning it clockwise with a small torx screwdriver.
Hi there, the part that is broken on mine is the clear plastic wheel on the base. It broke away. I have a replacement, but cannot find out how to remove the center metal shaft of the old one. The new one has the metal shaft attached. Any thoughts would be helpful!
This is great, thanks! Our blade spin has become really stiff, can barely even hand turn it so I'm concerned it's adding extra wear and tear to the machine. Been thinking about pulling it apart for a deep clean. I'm not yet sure if it needs a good lubing up or new bearings.... :|a
Great video. Do you happen to know how to disassemble the Ninja coffee and spice grinder attachment 'XSKBGAUK'? There are 3 screws on the base but cannot find a way to unscrew near the blade. I need to try and make the drive mechanism sit higher (nearer to blade underside) so the gearing fits on a BN800UK base. It currently works, but sometimes vibrates off the gearing (gears just need to be closer together)
Hi Waqas, are you saying the shaft is too tight inside the bearing and so is pushing the bearing out? If so, a couple of drops of vegetable oil should help lube it through(provided the bearing is the right size)
Wish it worked for a pro 1500 series. The blade and the fin assembly came apart quite easily buuuut the insides are all part of the blade assembly and can't be replaced. Good news though I have two replacement 6 fin blade attachments that work well just wanted to see if I could fix the original.
I have the Ninja Ultimate with the the blender and smoothie maker. The blender works fine, but for a reason I don't understand, the smoothie base (gear) no longer sits down deep enough into the blender base to lock the teeth to make it work. Befuddled. Any ideas for me? K
I think the larger washer (the one next to bearings rather than on the shaft) has disintegrated (or was never there). Could you estimate the size or give a comparison for replacement, please?
Hi, the outer diameter is 14mm. The inner hole will match the diameter of the shaft going through it at that point. Its a thin white ceramic washer (any thin food grade washer will do).
@@doctorsangeeth it didn't work. After trying many times to remove the stucked inner ballbearing with a hammer and a screwdriver I finally had the idea of putting a screw that had a head bigger then the inner ballbearing's hole and only then using the hammer and srewdriver again.
@@doctorsangeeth the problem is that I think I might have damaged the inner plastic black washer using the screwdriver. Would you have the specifications to buy a new one?
@@FIRSTwolfbrandchili The white washer directly below the blades, the inner diameter is 8mm and the outer diameter is 14mm. Thickness 1mm. The washer on my blade set is actually plastic and flexible (probably PTFE / Teflon) so I wouldn’t worry too much about finding ceramic. Hope this helps.
My blender also has the metal clip on the plastic locking washer, it my be a different model than the one in the video as I also noticed the rubber disk on mine is a female fitting, while the one in the video is male. To remove the plastic lock washer I used a small flat head driver to bend the washer over the metal clip, as its there to prevent it from spinning. Once it's lifted over a bit on that side, stick the driver in the hole next to it and turn clockwise. It came off without much effort once the washer was clear of the metal clip.
@@DanielB123321 The metal pin here seems antagonistic on Ninja's part. Earlier models are easier to dissassemble, and this blade should not be treated like a consumable when it can be repaired with just a couple of new bearings.
