Xi is an atheist, he doesn't.believe in Buddhism, any religion nor mythology. Communism and socialism are what make China so strong and united. Before China turned communist, for thousands of years China had always been a feudal society, Buddhism didn't improve China in the 2000 years since the religion entered into China, in fact, the Qing Dynasty rulers were deeply devoted Buddhists, and they destroyed China.
Buddhism was never popular in China in comparison to Chinese ancestors worship which is the most common for Chinese. Most Chinese weren't Buddhists, despite the myth that they were.

China would not be what is today if it started as a democracy. With threats from within and without, it was not easy to govern a country its size, with a population made up of a dozen different ethnic and religious groups, each with its own language and dialect.
It could easily have gone the way of the Balkan states. It cannot be denied that the CCP brought peace and stability after a period of turmoil. At one time, we used to look at China as a poor and backward country and even a failed state. The transformation through the last three generations of the Chinese people is amazing. Just look at the lives and freedom of the present generation compared to their grandparents and great grandparents’ time. What is important is a system of government that is effective and works for the good of its people and country. It is really not for us to say whether we are in favor or not in favor of the system. The West must acknowledge that democracy with limitless freedoms is not a cure all for any country and learn to accept and respect systems of government that are different from theirs.

WHAT BROUGHT CHINA PROSPERITY IS NOT COMMUNISTIC WAY OF CONTROLLING ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES. IT IS FREE ENTERPRISE, ADDED WITH GOVERNMENTAL SUPPORT THAT PRODUCED THE ECONOMIC MIRACLE THAT CHINA ACHIEVED IN THE PAST 40 YEARS. CHINA IS COMMUNIST ONLY BY ITS UNIQUE WAY OF GOVERNMENT, WHICH KEEPS THIS BIG COUNTRY INTACT. AMONG THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WITHIN THIS ONE PARTY SYSTEM, THERE IS VIGOROUS DEBATES ON POLICIES TO BE IMPLEMENTED FOR THE GOOD OF ITS PEOPLE.

Each Chinese leader faced different economic and political problems at different times, and different geopolitical challenges at home and abroad. For example, Mao Zedong unified China in the first half of his life, and laid the foundation for China's heavy industry in the second half of his life, but also made the mistake of the "Cultural Revolution". Deng Xiaoping achieved "economic reform and opening up", Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao continued the high economic growth, and after Xi Jinping came to power, he faced domestic corruption, the wealth gap between the rich and the poor, and the economic suppression of the United States, and had to adopt new economic reform policies to continue China's development. "Revitalization of new energy, electric vehicles, shipbuilding, and chip industries" shows that China's industry is transforming into high-tech.

To me, real and genuine leaders are the ones who work and sacrifice himself for the benefits of his people and there are only 2 of this type of leaders - President Xi and Putin. There were no presidents (past and present), not even one in human history who managed to :-
      1) brought its country's economy which was smaller than a small country like Haiti decades ago to be the No.1 economy in the world overtaking US since 2018 when using the more accurate method of measurement GDP PPP (Purchasing Power Parity) measurement.
      2) brought 800 million people out of extreme poverty (no human has ever achieved)
      3) brought corruptions to its knee in China which other countries across the world found extremely difficult to achieve.
