Most of the Asian Pears I've purchased from the Grocery store last a while. We bought a dozen, ate half of them and the other ones were forgotten about for about 4 months. They were still edible but right before starting to ferment. They get an alcohol taste and smell like most fruit when they start to go bad. The only fruit I've personally seen last longer than Asian Pears was Granny Smith Apples.

Every year the squirrels take my Asian pears. They don't even eat them. I think they think they are walnuts! :( When I was a kid we had a Seckle Pear tree. They are my very favorite! I have a Seckle Pear tree, no blossoms yet. It got knocked over by high winds last year, we staked it up I trimmed it back and so far, so good!

Good evening Sir. I've been watching your videos recently.Thank you for your recommendation to plant pears. Yes I have already at least 5-7 year old pear tree 6 of different varieties like yours except one is anjou pears that bears fruits for three years now and my Korean pears bears me only 3 or 4 fruit in 2 years time. I did not fertilize them because I choose an organic fruit. But they failed to bear fruits. This early spring I thought I have seen young buds that looks like flowers. I hope it was but because of heavy rain last March those flowers were gone instead new leaves appeared. The trees are healthy up to now no disease whatsoever but no fruits too . Can you give me an advice on how to make them produce fruits. If you fertilize them I have seen you use fish fertilizer but when do you start fertilizing them and how much fertilizer per tree and how often. Thank you.

I planted an Asian pear tree but I don’t remember the variety. This year it finally fruited. How do I know when to harvest?

asian pears also have a pretty strong protease in them (breaks down protein), you can use them to tenderize tough cuts of meats! but don't go longer than an hour or so or you will be left with something kindof gross!

LOL you complained about the Korean Giant when you got it from Starks, it was small, but look at it now. It's the biggest plant you have and you are so happy with it.

No, I don't. You can buy all of these similar varieties online. A good start is Willis Orchard. I've ordered from there before.

@@KhangStarr Willis Orchard is great and all, but Stark Brothers is a much better orchard to buy from they are located about 50 miles from the University of Missouri and Columbia. They have an online shop and they guarantee their trees will survive. If not, they will replace it will refund your money.

I'm jealous. My Asian pear is older and bigger than yours but it has never fruited. It has had rust issues and I have never treated it so that may be why. I'll have to rewatch your videos to see how you treated yours.

Needs a pollinator. Get a second one...this time with a graft from another type. or add a graft of a different type to yours.
