For all of those with no reference point or understanding of how wrestling worked, the belt went on the top draws or occasionally on young potential top draws (Flair's first run, Tommy Rich, Kerry VonErich). There was no concept of "the guy is really good and deserves a run". That is a concept born from internet message boards and Booker T and Benoit were the kings of "they deserve it".
Rick wanted percy Pringle aka Paul bearer with him but Paul wasn’t burnt out on working with rude. Rick Rude was a great heel and always had crazy colorful tights. Pretty much every heel had a manager then and they had some great heel managers in Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Slick, Mr Fuji, Sherri
This is like when Shawn didn't want to be managed by Sherri. Yes, a lot of talents are totally capable of getting themselves over, but a top-notch manager can take you straight to the moon.
Rick needed a valet like when he had Angel in Memphis. They could’ve done a program with Savage and Liz and it would’ve been money. He never got along with Heenan in real life and vice versa. They were a bad fit. He was a better fit with Percy Pringle ( Paul Bearer) but Percy didn’t want to uproot his kids in Dallas to leave for JCP. They were great together and got along well off screen.
I remember reading an Amazon review about Heenan’s book which mentioned to the effect that Heenan thought Rick Rude was out for himself, that he wasn’t a team player.

Thumbnail is hilarious 😂😂
Rick Rude's tights😂😂
Bobby and Rick on Arsenio with Rick unveiling the tights with Arsenio's face and then Rick saying "let's get busy!" was absolutely tremendous!
Always loved Rick Rudes in ring Promos.
Love Rick rude!!! Rick rude, mr wonderful, million dollar man, we’re some of my favorite most entertaining heals… they could talk like stone cold too.
I can’t get that image of someone in the business walking out then the crowd sees a Jim Cornette face on their wrestling tights.
Rude was the 1st WCCW champ after they left the NWA. Unfortunately for them he didn't stay long
The artwork is stellar.
How dare you guys forget about Sgt. Slaughter being champ during Rude’s WWF run?!?
I'm a simple man; I hear Stephen P New, I upvote.
We need more Mantaur stories!
Rood in Vancouver was painful on the stick. It was dramatic how he improved.
Rick wanted percy Pringle aka Paul bearer with him but Paul wasn’t burnt out on working with rude. Paul even said working with rick was great but after the show rick would go to the bars with the boys and look to pick fights. Rude enjoyed sending his current girlfriend around the bar to flirt with guys and then get into fights. Paul said he couldn’t handle that for the time.
The guy who does drawing art work deserves a medal his a legend keep up the art work 😁👌👍👍👍
Rude was def NOT a ham and egger and never tried to jump through a barbershop window in order to escape.
Rude got the Intercontinental Title for Six Months, that belt was the number three belt in all of Wrestling in 1989 after the WWF Title (number 1) and the NWA Title (Number 2)
Curt's childhood friend Rick Rude! I wouldn't mess with them
All them boys from Minnesota back then were no one to be messing with.
Cornette's gotta sell some autographed copies of artwork like this
This artwork is really funny lol
Have been on the fence on the new artwork style. This one is by a country mile my favorite artwork for a segment. Corny on the tights is genius. Well done, guys!
Rick Rude, Randy Orton great bodies, decent promo work and great heel heat. Rude should have won the big belt at least once.
Absolutely love the artwork. Stunning
The Cornette face spray painted on Rude's trunks like Jake Roberts wife is genius and hilarious!!!! 😂
I always loved watching the Rick Rude vs Sting matches in WCW when I was a kid.
This artwork for this topic is golden.
Different style on the art work this week. But still absolutely awesome.
Excellent art work
Rude really didn't need him.. Bobby was just an added bonus..
Dang that thumbnail 🤣
Your artwork just keeps getting BETTER AND BETTER!
One reason why Rick Rude didn’t win the WWF Championship: Hulk Hogan.
"That doesn't work for me brother."
We think its ridiculous cause everyone geta a title these days. Wrestling didnt have so many title changes as in the last few decades
When Brett was tagged and macho man back up and had a little standoff the crowd popped for it
Wow this art... that's just gold right there.
Undertaker and slaughter were champion too
Rick Rude was amazing from the jump. He got better with Heenan.
Rude's promo game went to 400% with Heenan bouncing off him especially the feud with Piper.
lol the promo Rude cut on Piper about coming in his house, punching his dog, and having his old lady cooking him a T bone Medium well. Rude was flawless on the mic.
Rick Rude was a great heel and always had crazy colorful tights. Pretty much every heel had a manager then and they had some great heel managers in Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Slick, Mr Fuji, Sherri
Genius artwork
I am stealing the hell out of the line "dryer than a nun's twat."
This is like when Shawn didn't want to be managed by Sherri. Yes, a lot of talents are totally capable of getting themselves over, but a top-notch manager can take you straight to the moon.
Paul Heyman didn’t take Cesaro anywhere!
@@butt5ful well everyone can't be saved. cesaro has the charisma of a dried turnip, no one could get him over
Rick needed a valet like when he had Angel in Memphis.
Liz wasn’t in Memphis
Oddly enough, Rude was the one who recommended Percy/Bearer to Vince in 1990.
You wouldn't know they didn't get along because their chemistry together was so good.
They liked each other but rude didn't want heenan stealing his heat
My mom and my aunts (like most ladies) would tackle my cousins and I when Rick Rude came on tv. 😂😂😂
I remember in 2nd grade class one time where I and another boy were doing the rude hip swivel in front of some girls in class. The teacher didn't catch me doing it but caught the other boy and fussed at him and the class was laughing.
@@kennylanqua6512 if you didnt get in trouble doing the rick rude hip swing you weren't a true 80's/90's wrestling fan! 😂
This is the best guest artist so far.
Heenan is a legend.
Big props to the artwork!!!
I hated Rick Rude as a kid at first but my dad would always do impressions of him so I ended up liking him a lot. Rude was the only “heel” I liked as kid though
