      I also have had it twice. As odd as it might sound it is actually good that it made it to the lungs. If it got stuck where it splits in the Y on the way to the lungs it is extremely dangerous. They are no joke.
      The thought of blood thinners is scary at first. The most common issue is that you will have to make sure to keep pressure on a wound until it clots. You also need to be cautious doing activities where you could fall hard. Don’t do them or be really careful.

    I’m glad you’re doing well now and that you’re still with us. I, unfortunately, lost my husband unexpectedly due to a PE a couple years ago. He wasn’t sure why his knee was hurting and then said he had gone to the gym and thought it was because of that. He didn’t have any redness or swelling. The next day, when he went to drop our baby off before work, he called me saying he was having a panic attack and I ended up being his first responder. I lost my husband that day and he was only 33 years old. Our baby had just turned 2. Don’t ignore the signs your body is showing you. Don’t hesitate to get care because it could be the end for you.

    Hey Justine, I’ve also had a PE when I was 21. Please keep in mind that you have an increased risk of reoccurring thrombosis now. I’m glad you’re not taking your flight because my doctor strictly forbid any flying for at least six months after my PE. I totally get that you don’t like needles but when you come off the blood thinners, please consider injecting blood thinners just before and after any flights you take. It’s been 5 years for me now and once in a while I can feel where my PE was because I think 1/3 of people develop a little bit of scar tissue in their lunges. Glad you’re ok, roughly every fourth person doesn’t survive a PE.

      Although vaccination (namely with adenovirus vectored vaccines for SARS-CoV-2) carries a risk for thrombotic events, they are extremely rare and are much more likely after infection with coronavirus. A paper from late 2020 "Pulmonary Embolism and Deep Vein Thrombosis in COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis" demonstrated that risk of a PE after infection was near 15%. After vaccination, a paper from India "SARS-CoV-2-related and Covid-19 vaccine-induced thromboembolic events: A comparative review" found once again it was most closely related to their adenovirus vectored vaccines rather than the more popular mRNA vaccines here in the USA where the poster of this video lives. Patients have the role of autonomy to decide for themselves if the risks outweigh the benefits, and it is the role of ethical physicians to make sure those topics are discussed and acknowledged. Justine detailed her vaccine experience on social media and there's no evidence she took one of these vaccines, but rather an mRNA vaccine.

      @CaptainSaveHoe 2 года назад +4

      As a paramedic, have you noticed any recent surge in this? If so, could it be linked to the jab or not? And if it is, wouldn't it be your duty as a nurse to point out a possible correlation, to potentially save lives, so people can make informed decisions regarding their own health wrt the jab?
      Many of us are RAPIDLY losing trust in the medical establishment, it makes me feel uneasy, very creeped out when the entire establishment is keeping shtum almost as if something sinister is going on, you need to be more forthright with the public, what is going on??😳

    • @TechTherapyGuy
      @TechTherapyGuy 2 года назад +1

      @@CaptainSaveHoe DVTs can occurred for so many reason, diet, medication and physical activity, it can occur for trauma, lots of people get hurt and they don’t go to the doctor and it will heal with the time but blood clots can form without you noticing until they start traveling inside your body and when it stops is when you start having signs and symptoms, so there’s no point start pointing fingers on who’s fault is it, it just something that happened and few ways you can do to prevent it but it’s not easy.

    • @CaptainSaveHoe
      @CaptainSaveHoe 2 года назад +6

      @@TechTherapyGuy it should be interesting to you that these clots have been happening at alarming rates since the jab, yet apparently it isn't, the fact that you list a bunch of possible causes but omit the jab as a possible cause, gives me an eery feeling of unease, and it's not just you but MANY people who seem to be simultaneously hypnotized into looking the other way, in total denial of the elephant in the room. I never imagined that humanity had this creepy side, it's like being in the real life twilight zone, scary.
      Today I had a conversation about this precise subject, I was told that a population that has been made fearful of a perceived threat can be manipulated into the most absurd patterns of behaviour, if they have been persuaded that those behaviors can help protect them. I totally agreed.

    Justine- Wow- I've never heard someone have the SAME STORY as me. (I've been following your iPhone videos for years now) Randomly one day my whole right arm got swollen, from shoulder to finger tips, and after a few days decided to go get it checked out. The doctor at the walk-in took blood, everything was fine... I told him I had shortness of breath, he told me I was nervous, and then he sent me home and wanted to send me to a hand doctor. Being a swimmer and a gymnast, I KNEW that there was not reason that my whole arm was swollen. A WEEK later I went back, arm still very swollen, and he finally ordered an ultra-sound and found the clot in my arm. He wanted to call an ambulance, I said "No I'm gonna go change and pack a bag and I'll drive myself to the ER since I've been walking around like this for over a week". When I got to the ER they did the TPA and found that I had 6 Pulmonary Embolisms. They did the dye test and found that when I sleep with my arms up, it pinched my Sub-clavian (or however you spell it) vein closed which produced the clot. They thought they were going to have to take out my top rib also, but when I went for that surgery they saw that I was just to strong and moved some muscles around. They didn't take out my rib. (the scar lines may collar bone and you can't even notice it unless I point it out). Maybe this is something similar to you since you do lots of upper body stuff. It really is crazy how you can be perfectly healthy and something like this happens. I really credit my cardio strength to swimming to get me through those 6 PE's, so keep moving. I was walking up 3 flights a stairs to get to my apartment with PEs... I could have dropped dead at any moment especially since the doctor sent me home for over a week not knowing why my whole arm was swollen. So scary looking back. I had no idea what was going on. Again, I've never heard someone have the same story as me, so feel free to reach out if you want to chat! I wish you the best of luck! You rock!

Basically there was odd swelling and things were not "right." The bar manager said there was a chance of it being a blood clot and not to be scared. I had no idea what a blood clot could do, nor did I consider it could ever be so serious. "I was too young & healthy" for something serious to happen.
      I would have blown it off if it wasn't for him. When I went to the doctor, they thought it may have been a blood clot too. Tests were made, it was some other problem. Sorry I don't remember more of the details, because "I was young and healthy."
      Watching this video is eye opening about how serious this is. I'm grateful that I had someone looking out for me when I wasn't.

      Post thrombotic syndrome can occur after clots have been long gone.... Because of the damage to vein valves. I know first hand

    It’s the reason it’s called the clot shot.
