It's a wonder someone hasn't hired Simms as a QB draft consultant already. He has a better record than anyone outside of KC--and he called Mahomes, which most people missed.
Folks have to remember that Chris Simms nailed last years QB class. He was the only one saying Herbert was a BEAST. I listen to Simms because 1) he grew up the son of a NFL Champion QB. 2) although he himself was very talented and intelligent he didn't have a Cam Newton body or a Patrick Mahomes arm. So he had to compensate with brains and hard work. If Simms hadn't been seriously injured I believe he would have been a star in the NFL. Mike Florio was smart grabbing this young man.
They both suck, globed on to an NBC 2 minute halftime non interview for a Notre Dame home game. What a way to be rich, there daddy’s were good at football
@@matta6395 yeah and I also watched his podcast yesterday that broke down what he said in this video... It’s a PRE-Draft analysis. He hasn’t played a single NFL snap yet.. You or Chris Simms has no idea how he will play. His breakdowns are almost completely based off arm talent which is like 25% of the puzzle of an NFL quarterback.. He even said in his podcast that he doesn’t get to speak to any of the QB’s, doesn’t get to see them break down film, or see their IQ in person so the list are great in terms of ranking the TALENT but it doesn’t account for team fit or players work ethic..
@@pookieandI I picked Herbert over Tua. That was easy. I still think the jury is still out on Lamar Jackson. The scat-back wildcat QBs have not historically worked out in the NFL, and I don't think that Jackson is going to be successful long-term. Defenses will figure out how to defend him and over time he will lose speed. By successful, I mean winning a Super Bowl.
He will be a good GM some day on a bad team and do what the Lions are doing now. Tear it down to the studs and flush bad contracts he's got that mindset.
Chris is right on point but misses the Mark on dak. Tom Brady gets 25 million and wins. Dak and the rest get 40 and lose. Dak can’t beat winning clubs. It’s only bc tge cowboys are the cowboys he ranks at all.
look, this past season justin herbert was quickly annointed the chosen one and then he proceeded to go 6-9 even tho he had great weapons just like the top guys. So I think we can pump the breaks and see how the young QBs will do. It will take time since the new guys will be going to teams with new coaches and brand new teams all around. Likely to still take several years for Jets and Jags to get sorted out...if they ever do.
He also had the 23rd best defense and a coach who didn't understand clock management. I agree u have to let young QBs develop, but u can't blame him for the team going 7-9.
@@Knowing341 people say deshaun watson had a great season, he led the league in passing yards, but his team only went 4-12. That's the point, despite how great deshaun watson is, he's only 1 guy on a field of 22. Same goes for herbert, he can be incredible, and still lose because his defense wasn't very good and his coach sucked
If you don’t understand that a good or great qb can only take you so far you don’t actually understand football. Plenty of good qb’s have failed because they went to a shitty team. Herbie had a garbage o-line, suspect clock management, an inferior defense with many injured players, so the record isn’t all on him. You could argue that without him the Bolts win fewer games.
Simms wasn't a great NFL QB by any means but he has great knowledge of the game and that makes him a quality Guest...
Trust Simms, he knows best.
Except about politics - he's a libtard.
Thanks Dan for bringing Chris & asking sharp questions
Chris Simms brings quality. Love it!

wdym kc they’ve only drafted mahomes
Simms is a goofball but because he's so passionate in his opinions I will listen to him.
Who gives a rip, he’s the one that is most accurate wen talking QBs. Sorry fans of those particular schools.

Why you didn’t say Josh Allen body or Aaron Rogers arm.... Rogers been that standard over 10 years?
You had me until you said, "Mike Florio was smart..."
Phil Simms & Chris colliworth sons are both on tv along with their father it's cool
CC is arguably the worst announcer in football.

I believe everything Simms says when it comes to qbs he knows his shit. Sad as an eagles fan he doesn’t think hurts is good cause I trust him
Thank you. Someone finally said it. I never saw the hype with Justin Fields
I agreed yesterday on PFT show of QBs. He sucks
You didn’t see the hype behind a guy who had 51 TDs and 3 INT... Ok... 🤡
Ramon Newell did you not watch the video ? 🤡

Justin Fields sucks. Dwayne Haskins sucks. JT Barrett sucks. Cardale Jones sucks. Troy Smith won the Heisman and sucks. It’s the offense. Not the QBs.
Chris ''I know more than most NFL GM's'' Simms!
If you look at his track record he's right on par with most GM's if not better

People scoff at Coastal Carolina. But they had some real dudes this year.
Wilson will be the number 1 overall pick
Good stuff
Love it
Jerry should be singing "Return of the Mac... it is... Return of the cap... Oh my God!"

Mond above fields is the only issue I have with his list. I can understand why some assume wilson as the #1 qb
But every Ohio state quarterback sucks..
He’s not assuming
Agreed. My take on that is that Fields is way less pro-ready, although his ceiling may be higher than Mond or even Mac Jones.
Accuracy issues...not in a very complicated offense. Being a physical specimen does equate to great QB. Depending on your feet is backwards for a qb.

I’m glad the Jets didn’t tank for Trevor and they would’ve blamed the Jets for ruining TLaw. But in reality.. kids a bust.

Simms is a clown. His options are based on Bias. He was a horrible NFL QB and now he’s worse in the media.
Worst game against CC...lol....
