Great review. I didn't even know it had that truss rod cover when I sold it. 7/10 is about right for what it costs. I do think the scale length is a bit short for an 8 string.
@@AnthonyDiFiglioOfficial if you want to spend 150usd more, ibanez offers an actually awesome multiscale 8 string that has no business being that cheap
I bought it used. Compared to dimarzio humbuckers. The ibanez pickups lacked alot in comparison. The string was awfully high. Action was high. I spent time on doing intonation and it needed alot... Alsow the Googling on related issues. Alot of the same. The chair should be moved 1-2mm more back or different chair. Some cut the screws. Its recommended to swap the chiar pickup to a dimarzio one. Cost 150.
Yeah it definitely wasn't setup the best. That is for sure. I bet this thing would be spectacular if a luthier were to improve the fretwork and with upgraded pickups. I love Dimarzios!
Been watching a bunch of reviews on this guitar seeing its one of the cheapest 8 strings to get, was interested in one for a bit and you and couple others definitely sold me on this , I'm hopefully expecting this to arrive in a couple of weeks , my 1st ever 8 string 😊 ( i also ordered my first ever 7 string too, a Jackson Dinky, believe it was JS227 or something like that and soon in a couple days ill be ordering my first 5 string bass lol an Ibanez.) Going all in this holiday on some of the heavier songs that i wanted to learn for a while like Korn Meshuggah etc lol. Can't wait till all 3 of these arrive. You're playing was awesome btw , that riff on Demiurge by Meshuggah that you played in the beginning of the demo is what definitely sold me on this , sounded nearly like the record. Hello and thank you for this video :) I just bought the guitar and still need to replace the strings. I have a problem with the volume knob ; too close to the bridge pickup. I'll have to get use to it as well as the 8 strings but I think it might be a pain in the neck for some ;) Anyway, cool review ! Keep it up !
I bought on the other day and my guitar tec at KSM music 🎶in Logan Utah saying this guitar is better than my schecter demand 7 seven string guitar and it really is its passive and no nine volt battery is needed and it stays in tune very well 🙂my friend calls this guitar the storm trooper
That’s awesome!! I love to hear guitar stories like this one. Not sure if I tried a demand series by Schecter but I love both Schecter and Ibanez 😁🎸 That’s funny you mention stormtrooper because Mick Thomson (Slipknot) calls his white Jackson the stormtrooper 😅🤣
Considering this review was done 4 years ago, It's very tough for me to remember to be exact. I bought the instrument used at the time, but I no longer own it. I want to say I did change the strings out right before I filmed this video, but not 100% certain. Hope that answers your question. :)
Youve probably already heard this, but the god of 8 string is Tosin Abasi. If you want to take your playing to the next level, go look at that guy. His musical style is incredibly creative and his technique is both innovative and highly professional. Also, Javier Reyes is a great 8 string player too. Just check them out, you wont regret it. As for the cover request, I would love to see you do Point To Point by Animals As Leaders and especially Tessitura. Peace man✌
Hey man, I am familiar with those two guitarists! I met Tosin once a few years ago! Extremely talented guitarist and super nice guy too. I see why many have recommended him. I’ve known of him since 2013. 🙂👍
As far as just trying out an 8 string, you can go to your local guitar center and give it a go. For an additional $200 saved up, you can get the Schecter Omen 8 and it's substantially better IMO
So my main instrument is drums and I’ve been playing guitar for a year and a bit and I’ve been wanting to get an 8 string for a few months but I don’t take guitar very serious I just like to write my own songs and do all the instruments but thanks for this review I think I will be picking one up

Rebecca's Sweet Music Thank you! Honestly, I think it has to do with the low tuning. I was tuned to F which does carry weight when riffing on the low strings (increasing the output) because I pretty much used the same settings on the same kemper profile on other reviews 🙂
