Comment: Over the past 38 years we have owned 8 different motorhomes from 20’ to 33’ long. We’ve owned various brands. We presently own a 2022 Winnebago Vista 29V, which is almost identical to the National Parks addition, but without the paint, and rims. In addition, the standard bed in 2022 was a queen bed, which we prefer, and ours has nice laminate countertops instead of Corian . These changes increased the CCC to 2042 pounds , which we have never exceeded.
Three years and 40,000 miles to date, averaging 9.3 MPG.
We have had very few issues with the Winnebago build quality and this layout works really well for us.
I’m not paid by Winnebago but of all the rigs we’ve owned, Winnebago gave us the least issues. That doesn’t mean accessories like water pumps, step motors and backup cameras didn’t have issues, but not because of the build quality.
Anyway- that’s my opinion and experience with this 30’ class A.
    Thank you for your videos

I'm not convinced those massive full wall slides aren't going to be a problem. Looks like a Schwintek. But other than that, I like it a lot.

You can get step covers, usually made out of outdoor carpet material.
Takes some of the clunkiness out of them.
I usually spray the joints of the steps with lube spray in spring and that is it for the remainder of the season.

I have a similar 2018 Winnebago Sunstar. The general layout looked the same. You missed the tons of storage under the bed and pass through storage in the first big bay outside. I don't like the doghouse either, need some cabinet like shelf that sits higher to make it more usable. I have not had any issues with weight and a full load, checked on scales. I was really interested in seeing your review, thanks. Bottom line - we love ours.

My dislikes are the raised bed due to the outside kitchen that I would not use, I would delete it if possible. I also don't need a king size bed, a queen bed is big enough, that is what my wife and I have in our home. Replacing the king bed for a queen bed would allow for wider closets on each side of the bed along with a bigger walk around. I also agree with Mike on the outside TV, along with the bedroom TV is a waste of money, and would delete them as well, along with an outside auto leveling control is needed. I would also like to see better quality slide arms. All these deletions would add to the payload amount.
    Winnebago I hope you're listening.

I prefer sliding windows because we were raised with roll out windows with the turn crank and after a year or two they jam and quit working. I'm close to your age so you may know what I am talking about.
I don't hear the AC.. I guess they forget most RV people are older and a small screen is hard to see when you are driving. I wouldn't want the outdoor kitchen so I would want it to be storage.

Really helpful, thanks. We have a 1999 Class C Winnebago (Minnie Winnie) and have enjoyed many of the little Winnebago touches that you mentioned, of course quite updated from 1999, and the Class A is very nice. The one thing you didn't address is what you can and can't get at when the slide is in; in our current Winnebago, nothing is inaccessible when the slide is in. I'm guessing that you could get into many of the closets and drawers in the bedroom without opening the slide, but am wondering about kitchen and bathroom access too. If you're in a Walmart, do you have to open the slide for the night? If we get serious about a Class A, we'll look into this. Thanks for the review!

Unless you are packing down pillows into those storage areas, you'll never be able to fill them. The problem with that model is the CCC is not matched with the storage and passenger limit. That would be a great way to live and tour the country but they need to cut down on the weight. I like the design team's choices on the interior and exterior.

    • @terrysandiego
      @terrysandiego 3 месяца назад

They never showed enough of the fridge to be sure, but I think I caught a glimpse of a vent on the driver side, but not enough to see if it was the usual absorption fridge vent or just a small access or heat vent. The upper back inside of the fridge would have the metal plates if it was absorption, but that was never shown in the video. Hopefully, it was a 12V or a compressor.
Update: In another video (summary video), the driver side is shown and the "vent" is for the Truma. So, I think the fridge is not an absorption fridge - Yay.

    • @terrysandiego

@@JudyPRys Sounds like an absorption fridge. Be glad that it dates prior to about 2000, although earlier models also had fire reputations perhaps not reported as much as in later years. Post-2000 models certainly became known for fires when the coils leaked onto the wiring (not a propane issue). IMO, this is probably about the time China coil casting/manufacturing came into play more prominently. My 2004 Country Coach's four-door Norcold totaled our coach in 2011. The coach's ceiling turned into a broiler within three minutes. Convenience over life? Not for me.
