"if these walls could speak"
Günther Domenig created this stonehouse as a tribute to architecture, not to be lived in, but just to "be". Its philosophical growth, becoming concrete and glass walls, emerged over many years, the drawings he did aided this.
I was fascinated by this process and traced the walls of an elevation, with eight colours, as eight voices wishing to be heard, speaking through the walls. These eight lines form a graphical score, and fragments of songs, appear as waves on the memory of time, citations from "Die Empfindung zu Wernberg" a song composed in Schloss Damtschach a couple years earlier from the poetry of "Nina von Wernberg", "der ruhe innen" from Ferdinand Schmatz and "I bin der Schwarzenbach" composed in a mountain hut by the river, all abiding in the house of desires.
