There so much to love here: cartoonish, one-dimensional characters who shout their lines because they don't know how to act scared; victims who impulsively rush outside to an easily-avoidable death; and the survivors who can't think of anything to do because the writers couldn't either. I especially enjoyed how the befuddled hero Dad finally gets his hands on a rifle, takes out the main villain, and then a few seconds later the rifle is gone and there's no mention of it.
I always got a kick out of movies where lumbering old trucks that couldn't possibly make more than 55 or 60 miles per hour can overtake cars that are capable of 100.
But y’know which one’s gonna be able to drive for longer? Your choice is between a station wagon with maybe a 25 gallon tank, or a dump truck with a 100+ or so gallon tank
Actually trucks are only slow NOW due to governor systems being legally required-- back in the day the engine was almost the size of the truck it was pushin', and with no governor in em them suckers could haul ASS. Depending on the truck and load it might not have ACCELLERATED all that fast, but top speeds could rip porches off houses. Of course by the time this came out all THESS trucks should've been government mandate neutered, so you'd be right in this particular case.

I'm sorry but maximum overdrive is Soooooo much better. With the happy Toyz truck and ACDC music plus I got to watch them make it when I was little. They film it down the road from my house in Wilmington nc.
