- Proof That This Heli Pilot Upgrade Is Absolutely Useless - Bloons TD 6 / BTD6 - a lot of people wonder why I don't buy this upgrade when I get heli pilots. In this video I give the reason, 7 reasons in fact.

Checkmate, faster darts enthusiasts.
EDIT: All the challenges sent to me here were with the intention of it being impossible to beat without faster darts, hence why I only beat them once without the upgrade. Surely if it was useful there'd be one at least challenge where you'd need it, right?

Faster Darts. It needs more than faster projectile speed. Needs either more pierce, faster attack speed, longer projectile lifespan, or even extra damage to Yellows and Pinks.
Heli's darts last forever I'm pretty sure, or just about the length of the map so lifespan wouldn't really be that good. I'd say make it like the Faster Rangs upgrade on the Boomerang where it adds faster attack speed

More pierce makes actual sense, because f = ma. I’d say buff it with more pierce.
Ninja Kiwi’s response to this was to make Faster Darts the first bottom path upgrade so you need to buy it for the actually useful upgrade

@@adrianomargonzalezjara5960 long time ago, but acid pools used to be before faster throwing on alchemist, then they swapped the two and make faster throwing more expensive
The only reason I get it is because I like the Apache with the green lines(4-0-2) more than the one with the yellow lines(4-0-1) making it basically a skin rather than an upgrade.

Shot speed in bloons is the worst stat because most tower have already enought shotnspeed. Reminder the devs are the type of people thatbthough losing lives for abilities made them good.

Yeah, they need to re-work this upgrade, maybe it can make the darts a little bigger so it's easier to land your hits
The whole point of this upgrade is to make your darts easier to land because all the upgrade does is increasing projectile speed.
What they need to really do is add attack speed to this upgrade.
Or call it better darts and do something about it

I think the upgrade is intended for persuit, as realistically you aren’t gonna micro a heli in a real game

I start to think that faster darts might just be a "micro" upgrade. It facilitates heli micro if youre not too good at it. At least from what i have seen in these challenges
It's like pre-buff Faster Rangs all over
Faster Rangs had use even before the buff, it helped catching fast bloons, like pinks and purples, that easily avoid the Rangs
I suspect all of those challenges were designed to be played with pursuit, which would explain why your results differed from the map makers

They meant 100,5%. Inmany countries commas and periods are swapped. So it’s 1.000,5 instead of 1,000.5

020 gives like 25% more speed though (combined 010) you get 50% more speed which is pretty good
Victor Gamer16 Faster Rangs is better because the Boomer attacks when it’s glaive comes back to it or when the attack ends in the case of the glaive ricochet. Only exception is the 0-3-0

Yea some people don't micro all the time and later in the rounds when ceramics start flying past the faster darts is gonna be useful. This was a stupid example of showing it's usefulness.

there are some problems with this challenges , they all require micro and absolutely none of them require you to put your heli into pursuit. in a normal game you may have a lot of towers so you put the heli on pursuit to manage itself, we need challenges that can proove that 'faster darts' is actually useful when the heli is in the pursuit mode
No one uses pursuit, it is literally the worst possible way of using a heli. You're better off locking it in place in a position where it will hit a lot of bloons than putting it on pursuit. Always manually control your heli.

Now I expect you to get faster darts in actual games on certain maps.
Just for clarity
Faster darts mean that the dart is faster to travel through the air, hitting bloons faster.
Faster firing means that darts are released faster, sending more to make sure that bloons are being damaged.

Try this: round ??, max bloonspeed, 101 heli locked in place at corner vs 102 heli locked in place at corner EOTR
If the challenge creator's word is sacred, just make a "Must use pursuit" challenge.
Faster darts should be replaced with 1.5x bigger range
They “fixed” it by forcing you to buy it
They should make it so it's like the Faster rangs upgrade (0-2-0) for Boomerang monkey. That way it fires quicker and is propelled quicker
They need to make a challenge where faster darts have a clutch save
They need to give it +3 Pierce to make it useful

I can't speak to whether it's effective for microing since I'm lazy and hate microing, but for Pursuit, faster darts is actually WORSE than just not getting the upgrade at all.

@@Snidbert So from what I've read, my understanding is that the faster darts mean the darts spend less time actually out popping bloons. If they made the upgrade slower darts, for instance, the darts would take their sweet time and be popping bloons during the whole time they were out.

personally, faster darts is semi-okay if you have a maxed out heli and may as well get it with an over abundance of money, but i'd rather have it be 'even faster firing' than 'faster darts' that would actually be pretty nice
Imagine if xx2 gave +1 pierce because of the velocity of the darts giving them more power.
I feel like a lot of the camo-popping upgrades should also give a tiny bit of range, like with Dart, same with lead-popping upgrades dealing more damage, like with Boomer.

I think Faster Darts should get like +2 pierce, given high speed projectiles are better at piercing.

Funny enough the ADC proved to me that it's not because with my strategy I made it to round 98 but when I didn't get faster darts, I kept losing on 96 with that being the only change.
He should see this to get off his attitude
With micro you can beat it without faster darts.

Darkness Dpa you dont need to lock upgrade paths tho, just tell us what paths not to use in your challenge when you make it.

i guess you'd need 2 very spaced away bloons and one straight line, faster darts could make t reach 2nd bloon while xx1 would not achieve that, but it;s hard to accomplish

I have discovered a strange... "glitch", let's call it that. If you place a x-3-x Ice near water, you can place towers on the water in range of the Ice. Most people know that. But if you place another x-3-x Ice on the water within the range of the first Ice, then you sell the first Ice, the second Ice will remain on the water. You can then endlessly chain Ices to have a bunch of land towers in the middle of a large body of water with a floating x-3-x Ice in the middle. I'm sure this could be incorporated into a challenge somehow, but I haven't figured it out yet. If I can think of a way to make this useful in a challenge, I will post the code.

Rules: You may not place Snipers on land. You may not remove the kelp on the rocks nor place towers on the rocks. You may not have an upgrade higher than 2 on the top and bottom trees of the Ice tower. Ex: 3-x-x or higher and x-x-3 or higher Ices are not allowed.
Please note that this challenge was made on a mobile device and may be easier or harder on PC. Good luck!
This isn't a glitch because the ice tower on the water freezes the water resulting in the tower retaining.
If you did it with any other towers they would get sold along. Unless it's a temple

Make it so when it pops a balloon it slowly deflates to a red one
What I would say is a replacement for that upgrade - I also never upgrage.
My version of an upgrade - larger line of sight - attacks Bloons further away
Then you can miss because your darts are slower and actually miss having faster darts

Even if you are able to beat the challenges after multiple attempts, doesn't that prove that it's worth the upgrade? You can't restart every round to make sure your spacing is perfect. Furthermore, it's way easier since you won't have to spend extra time micromanaging the heli. This doesn't really prove anything to me.
Exactly, proving something is not necessary is different than proving that it's useless
Imagine this scenario. You have a nice setup that can guarantee beat 98. But then you decide to buy an extra spike storm because why not. But then on 100 you lose because you don't have enough for a 1st strike. $200 dollars can make a lot of difference.
actually faster darts does nothing to dps, but it helps with last second situations where your darts have to reach a balloon at the end

Mid heli is useful for a number of reasons, most upgrades just don't increase its popping power.

It really is. Honestly, i much prefer 2,5,0. The pursuit is the most useful thing for them in my oppinion. And the fact you can get supply drops, move towers, and summon a fast shooting marine makes it op to a certain degree.

Here is the use. A red bloon is about to leave, and your dart doesn’t make it without faster darts. Any other scenario it doesn’t matter

So the NK has changed the Heli upgrade :
If you want the faster firing to heli you must upgrade the heli to 0-0-2 instead of 0-0-1 before.
(The 0-0-1 upgrade is stupid faster dart)
In short, now the 0-0-2 Heli is not useless anymore.

faster darts is only better with razor rotors because the razors wont hit bloons when you are in front but if you are behind then you can hit them and deal extra damage
Lol if you think about it then faster darts might make it worse because the darts will pop the balloons that rotors would have popped anyways instead of the Bloons in the back.
I feel like this is like the argument if the earth is flat there are two sides - one supporting that its useful and one that its useless and both sides are trying to prove their point even tho its obvius that the upgrade is useles.
Faster darts makes the bullets faster,faster reload increases the reload so it's different and faster darts is not useless...
But if it makes it easier, then it has a use, no? You are testing this in a place where you are free to restart the same exact round consistently. But for a normal player, in a normal game, they would want to use things that makes things a bit more easy, so they don't possibly lose and have to restart.
Everything might be *possible* without it, but if the challenge was easier to defeat *with* Faster Darts enabled, then I believe it still has a use.
Theoretically, the only time where Faster Darts would be required is if the dart will *need* to go faster to be *able* to hit another bloon. But since most of the times one just needs to modify the angle to not miss, it's technically not needed in most situations. But I do think it will make it a heck of a lot easier to do, hence, it has a use, especially under normal fair-player circumstances.

@@annihilator_ron7691 The challenge goes beyond judging only the upgrade if you're adding more independent variables beyond the Faster Darts upgrade. You'd be judging Faster Darts exclusively in the situation where Pursuit is active, which skews the results and in no way determines if in any given situation (Pursuit or Micro) Faster Darts is necessary.
ISAB's point in this video is that in practically every situation where Faster Darts + Pursuit works, it's also possible to beat it without Faster Darts using micro, therefore making Faster Darts useful but ultimately unnecessary.
