The New York Times did an article about the problems in the supertall apartment building at 432 Park Avenue. It looks like other supertalls have similar problems. All skyscrapers sway when it's very windy but when you have a very tall building like 432 Park, it sways with more force. 432 Park has had a problem with frequent elevator malfunctions. On a windy day, the cables in the elevator shaft slap around and this can cause the elevator to slow down or stop working. One resident of 432 Park was stuck in an elevator for one and a half hours when it broke down. Other residents have complained that the noises the building makes when it sways are irritating or even alarming. The metal partitions between the walls groan. As air rushes in the doorways and elevator, it makes a whistling noise. When you throw garbage in the trash chute, it's really noisy as it falls down. Water leaks and burst pipes have caused millions of dollars of damage since the building opened. One resident complained to the NYT that they had $500,000 damage to their apartment which was several floors below a water leak. The penthouse at 432 Park was originally bought as an investment. The person never moved in. Now he's having trouble selling it.
Jaha zyada log honge vaha aise khachra patti ho he jaata hai. New York ke raasto mai itna kachra dikhta hai coz har din garbage trucks aake garbage collect karte hai, toh residents ko bahar raaste pe rakhna padta hai kachra. Bahut he sundar jagge hai NY vaise.
@@anhadka2051 True. I guess all tall buildings sway when it's very windy but some are probably better designed than others so you don't notice the swaying. On another chat forum, someone mentioned that he had to go for a business meeting in a tall building in Chicago on a windy, stormy day and the chandelier was swaying in the conference room. He didn't like that. I think the problem is that these very thin, very tall buildings are a new type of building and they haven't gotten all the kinks out. Because 432 Park is thin, space is at a premium and you don't want to devote a lot of space to elevator shafts because you don't make money off of that. An engineer in another article said that the architects of 432 Park went too far and made the shafts too narrow and that's another reason why the elevators keep breaking down. The magazine Der Spiegel estimated that the majority of the apartments were bought as an investment and will be unoccupied for at least 10 months per year, so I guess it's similar to One Hyde Park in London in that respect. I've heard that when you walk by One Hyde Park at night, most of the apartments are dark because not that many people actually live there. I do have some sympathy for people who live in the 432 Park year round, even though they have plenty of money and can take care of themselves. 432 Park was probably hyped as the ultimate luxury building and a great investment when it was being built and then people find out there are all these problems when they actually move in.

Thanks for another great video, Dhruv and Juli. The reason for the piles of garbage in front of buildings in Manhattan is because there are no back alleys. When the street grid pattern for Manhattan was laid out in 1811, people didn't have that much garbage. People used nearly everything. Any food that you didn't use was given to livestock. And back then most people had a lot less stuff than they do today. The designers of the grid thought back alleys for storing garbage were unnecessary. This is explained in a RUclips video by Architectural Digest about the 5 most common New York apartments.
Very interesting and thank you! Though I wonder - Europe doesn’t have back alleys for garbage either, it’s being kept in garbage cans/bins in front of the house or the cellar or backyards and never really smells or piles up in the streets. The American Media don't show bad areas and bad side of New York because it will affect their tourism. But when they come to India they only show Dharavi and because of that Indian Tourism Industry takes a hit on Foreign Tourists in India .
It's a grand narrative that is followed since India got independence. Basically the west likes to see the world as American lead west and eastern countries that bow down to America. And communist China-Russia pact that is evil. India due to it's non alignment stance is too much complicated for America to label as completely evil or good. True urban India IS dirty with garbage disposal badly managed across the country. Indian's don't have it in their DNA to prioritize cleanliness. When we ourselves can see the garbage everywhere, why do we feel bad when foreign media or tourists talk about it. That is hypocrisy.
Yeah but imagine a city from richest country has a set of problems like from developing country. You probably haven't lived in NYC.. it has low income neighbourhoods and people get shot there so many crimes. And in Mumbai in places like Slum.. it's just a big recycling going on
New York city is also has a problem of mental health issue. There is no guarantee that a random stranger with mental health issue will not ruin your day. The metro station of this city is a home for such people and commuters find it inconvenient and unsafe to use the metro.
Actually those “empty” floors are not for wind to pass, they were built to bypass a city law so they could increase the height of the building as those vacant empty floors are exempted from such calculation. There’s a video about that specific building explaining the loophole in detail.

I loved how you are exposing them with real content as similarly how did they shoot video of our country and exposing globally that India is a poor country
Americans also face the same problems like indians but our problems are more highlighted by the western news portals showing india as a 3rd world country and not shows the true india. Harming India's Tourism.
I Think U should take initiative and uncover the true and beautiful india 🇮🇳.
U have A Good Reach And As An Indian RUclipsr U Can Influence Many.
AND Ur Vlogs Are Amazing And U Cover Every Major Decision.
True urban India IS dirty with garbage disposal badly managed across the country. Indian's don't have it in their DNA to prioritize cleanliness. When we ourselves can see the garbage everywhere, why do we feel bad when foreign media or tourists talk about it. That is hypocrisy.
In the streets on New York, Druv and Julie got the smell of freedom 😜
🤣🤣
Lmao
You do a brilliant work by showing reality
Even dark side of new York is brighter than Mumbai thanks to BMC.
bro😅😅
Yeah but imagine a city from richest country has a set of problems like from developing country. You probably haven't lived in NYC.. it has low income neighbourhoods and people get shot there so many crimes. And in Mumbai in places like Slum.. it's just a big recycling going on
@@peteck007 richest country is China.
Shanghai is better and safer than NYC.
Yet china is considered as developing
Mumbai getting compared with new York? Srsly
@@patrickbatemanfromohio nahi london se krenge na.. ab India me rehte he to Indian cities se hi comparing hogi na..

New York city is also has a problem of mental health issue. There is no guarantee that a random stranger with mental health issue will not ruin your day. The metro station of this city is a home for such people and commuters find it inconvenient and unsafe to use the metro.
Who doesn't have mental health issues nowadays?
Wow Dhruv, amazing stuff as always.♥️
Actually those “empty” floors are not for wind to pass, they were built to bypass a city law so they could increase the height of the building as those vacant empty floors are exempted from such calculation. There’s a video about that specific building explaining the loophole in detail.
Well done dhurav Rathi bro 👍

I don't know when,was i'll get there?❤❤❤❤❤
We use to drive to N.Y. from Toronto every summer to visit my aunt in the eighties it use to be the summer vacation for my kids. I never saw that much garbage on street my uncle took us every were in New York we loved that city, especially the tall buildings. last trip I made alone was in 2000 for my aunt's funeral I have nice memories of N,Y. City.❤️ Those were the good old days. 09.05.22 this video was taken on garbage day when all stores & people put garbage out for pick up next day.
that day is long gone ma'am
People put their garbage on the street when it is time for trash collection! What a booby!

Dhruv is so rich that he doesn't even buy new t shirts even if they are torn 😂😂😎
It's interesting to see how a visitor reacts to the garbage. I was also appalled when I just got here.
Normal person- I'm gonna use my drone to get the aerial views of the city.
Dhruv- Let's book a half an hour helicopter ride.
Just kidding. You're amazing as always.
I went there once as my brother lives in US par mjhe to bahut Bore lagaa yaar.. I really missed the smell of our India and the freedom.. Apna Desh apna hi hai aur thoda bahut kama ke guzara chal raha hai .. So Happy to be in India 🇮🇳

Bro, Love ur explanation
Even here u don't stop elaborating.... 😅
But you r awesome
I like the fact that you covered the filth too.
The same westerners that expect us to see the positives cover the filthiest parts when they travel to Asia.
Do you really believe this is the same the filthiest parts of indian cities?
Come on dude.
@@larrybuchannan186 get the context right? Not comparing the amount of filth, but trying to make people understand to look at positives of every place instead of negatives.

It’s because you’re visiting on Wednesday. This is the day of recycling people’s trash and other stuff, so end of the day the city will pick those up and recycle. Otherwise it’s not as bad as the video described.
Dear you are really enjoying the life's previous moments around the world. 😉 Keep it up ❤
You were wrong on the Most expensive apartment on 432 Park as the most expensive apartment on that building is priced at 169 million dollars which is on 96 floor of the building named Penthouse 96.

Its still way too cleaner than most of the indian METROPOLITAN cities.
Well.. tbh it's not about its cleaner.. it's mostly about despite the city being from world richest country, and still has problems like cities of developing country.
Hmm U haven't seen any Indian cities.
