This is actually one of my favourite animations. The whole thing is easy to follow, and it's really made to match the song, which i LOVE. I've probably watched it over 20 times this week already 😭 Edit: Oh I didn't see that this was from a year ago 😭
this was a masterpiece, I don't say this lightly, I was watching the best movie of my life, and it was only 4 minutes, like it really told like the Legend it is, I felt like I was so immersed into the wof world, and I was a scavenger learning about the history that was centuries ago
Okay, so I get that you're still new to the WoF scene and it's only been a day, but it's a crime that this has only 400 views. Your transitions, where you chose to put each scene, the shots, the pacing-- you don't just make good art, you present it to us in a way that adds to the experience. Not a lot of people know how to do that. I don't usually subscribe to animation channels, especially small ones, but I'm excited to see where you go next.
THIS IS WILDLY UNDERRATED, the expressions are immaculate, the backgrounds are captivating, the animation is stellar and the dramatic moments hit so unbelievably hard!
the beats of intensity of action to the song's intensity are matched up so well! all of legends: darkstalker is done so well here, it's so goddamn cool omg also oml you do the horror of arctic ripping out his tongue WAY better than any other piece of fanart i've personally seen. that made me legitimately shudder. chills!
Holy shit, this is utterly magnificent. I am so in love with how you seamlessly flowed Albatross’ and Darkstalker’s downfalls together. The tweening and animation work so well together. The pace is great too, everything builds so wonderfully. The choice of imagery is really original in some places, I love when Darkstalker’s symbolized evil consumes the web of timelines, how Lagoon’s head falls into pool and makes the fountain flow red, Albatross’ furious snarl after finally letting out years of anger is SO COOL UGHHH. AND WHEN HE DIES AND YOU SEE HIM TAKE HIS LAST BREATHES AAAAGH. I’m in love with this video but I’m very in love with the Albatross stuff in particular. Amazing job you two.
In the book, Lagoon’s head does actually fall in the fountain. And it was written that the fountain turned blood red subsequently. It’s really cool how precise and accurate some of the artists’ scenes are in this piece!
Years? In WoF, 150 years isn't an unreachable lifespan for a dragon, and Albatross was middle-aged-ish by the time of the banquet massacre. Li'l guy was abused by his sister (and the rest of the royal court and seawing society at large) for *decades* at least. And then Fathom showed up, and Lagoon immediately became completely unmoored. Albatross was old, and Fathom young. Albatross was ugly, at least by seawing standards, and Fathom looked normal. Albatross took his sweet time planning all of his enchantments (a.k.a. stalling, because he knew that the quicker he worked, the more work Lagoon would pile onto him). Meanwhile, Fathom was downright *enthusiastic* about getting to do maglc for the queen. With Fathom as Lagoon's new toy, Albatross would fade into irrelevance. All those years spent trying to repent for that one accident with the seashells... it was all in vain. A monster he was, a monster was all he would *EVER* be allowed to be, and once he was gone, a monster was how he would be remembered in the history books. By the Queen's orders, probably. It's no wonder that Alby's mind broke once he started to *truly* understand his situation. It's too bad that, in his rage, he came to see Fathom as a rival rather than what he was; simply the next in line to be used and abused by Lagoon as she saw fit. At least we can all be happy that before he died, Albatross managed to unintentionally save his grandson from becoming Lagoon's new plaything.

Hard to find a video on both tragedies, and I think you did it perfectly. Lots of frames, great expressions, and the showing of each one's struggle especially Albatross hits hard. Like he LOOKS like the definition of postal; flaring nostrils and all when he snaps. Was curious how you'd show Arctic's end, but I completely understand leaving it to the imagination with how ... brutal his death is in comparison! And Albatross still breathing his last gasps of air as he seemingly regains some sanity watching Fathom heal Indigo really hurts. Tons more to be said about details, but man so many already made that point better than I could. Look forward to more, subscribed!

Also, the transition at 1:55 Bruh???? The 3D fountain took me by surprise!. Like, many things took me by surprise on howl well it was timed, like Arctic's rip moment and the fountain spewing up blood before all hell breaks loose. Im in love with this!

Your art is beautiful, the music sets the somber vibe of the book itself, and the expressions on the dragons' faces are harrowing. I mean wow, this is so well done. This is literally the type of Wings of Fire animation I have always dreamed of finding. I can't believe you made the animation so fluid! Usually when people do these things, it's real choppy because in between frames are a real bitch. I can't commend you enough for how professional this looks. It is really more gorgeous and entertaining than I can put into words. Even if you never make another animation of this scale again, you should always be proud of this. Because this is a level of beauty and technical skill few indie animators ever achieve.

Also the secenes with Lagoon and her sister turning around, Darkstalker's eye dilating and Arctic grabbing his tongue are just so well done!I think the scene with Albatross just heavily breathing with this very concerning look as he turns to stare at Fathom is just so- lively?I mean....it just does the emotion so well!I hope you have a good week!

Okay but this is one of the BEST things I've ever seen! The animation and little movements bring the whole piece to life, and your expressions and art style are just so incredible!! I love all the symbolism and the side-by-side sequence with Albatross and Darkstalker. I literally cannot get over how much I adore this like Oh My Gosh the effort shows! Absolutely hit in the face with a coconut by how impressive and beautiful this AMV is. The backgrounds are gorgeous and I love the colors and effects and just like- everything!!!

This is absolutely incredible! The storytelling worked perfectly with each part of the song, "lost my mind" when Albatross goes crazy at the party and "won't be packing little pistols" when Darkstalker falls asleep. The transitions are also incredible with zoom-outs from objects and the fountain turning red when the SeaWing queen falls in it. Genius and I can tell this was a massive labor of love!! Kudos also to your background artist as well for all those scenes!!

Hi! Just to prevent any confusion down the line, MAP means multiple animator project, which means multiple animators worked on an animation to produce the final product! This isn't considered to be a MAP, since the artist made the whole animation herself. I helped with the background, but that doesn't count as animation. Hope this clears things up! 😅
@@JpodTM Hi! Actually I do know the difference between a MAP and an AMV, but sometimes they do tend to look the same And sometimes I do tend to use the term MAP for these kinds of things and that's my fault. But I do know the difference between a MAPs and AMVs.
I just found this masterpiece today, and despite it being rather new, I’m disappointed that I haven’t found it sooner. The way the two murderous animus dragons’ stories were entwined together shows how dangerous it can be. Let alone the amazing art style that reminds me of Ren and Stimpy given the detailed wrinkles at times. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful…

This is literally the type of Wings of Fire animation I have always dreamed of finding. I can't believe you made the animation so fluid! Usually when people do these things, it's real choppy because in between frames are a real bitch. I can't commend you enough for how professional this looks. It is really more gorgeous and entertaining than I can put into words. Even if you never make another animation of this scale again, you should always be proud of this. Because this is a level of beauty and technical skill few indie animators ever achieve.

Also the secenes with Lagoon and her sister turning around, Darkstalker's eye dilating and Arctic grabbing his tongue are just so well done!I think the scene with Albatross just heavily breathing with this very concerning look as he turns to stare at Fathom is just so- lively?I mean....it just does the emotion so well!I hope you have a good week!

Okay but this is one of the BEST things I've ever seen! The animation and little movements bring the whole piece to life, and your expressions and art style are just so incredible!! I love all the symbolism and the side-by-side sequence with Albatross and Darkstalker. I literally cannot get over how much I adore this like Oh My Gosh the effort shows! Absolutely hit in the face with a coconut by how impressive and beautiful this AMV is. The backgrounds are gorgeous and I love the colors and effects and just like- everything!!!

This is absolutely incredible! The storytelling worked perfectly with each part of the song, "lost my mind" when Albatross goes crazy at the party and "won't be packing little pistols" when Darkstalker falls asleep. The transitions are also incredible with zoom-outs from objects and the fountain turning red when the SeaWing queen falls in it. Genius and I can tell this was a massive labor of love!! Kudos also to your background artist as well for all those scenes!!

Hi! Just to prevent any confusion down the line, MAP means multiple animator project, which means multiple animators worked on an animation to produce the final product!
This isn't considered to be a MAP, since the artist made the whole animation herself. I helped with the background, but that doesn't count as animation. Hope this clears things up! 😅

Actually I do know the difference between a MAP and an AMV, but sometimes they do tend to look the same
And sometimes I do tend to use the term MAP for these kinds of things and that's my fault. But I do know the difference between a MAPs and AMVs.

I just found this masterpiece today, and despite it being rather new, I’m disappointed that I haven’t found it sooner. The way the two murderous animus dragons’ stories were entwined together shows how dangerous it can be. Let alone the amazing art style that reminds me of Ren and Stimpy given the detailed wrinkles at times.

Wowowowowow! First off, this is horribly underrated. Especially for a 4 minute AMV anyways, but this looks so cool! The expressions are great and unique.
