LOL - This has got to be the most jacked up, yet strangely useful assembly video I have seen in a long time. Links to parts n prints are a lifesaver. Now if I can just figure out how to start my 3D Printer.
Haha well originally I was going to just make your stock standard tutorial video, but I think I was feeling extra creative the day I filmed/edited it, so it turned out like this 😆 The glories of adhd 🙃 which printer do you have?
Thanks for showing how to do this. I've seen the comments about what they used but no one showed how they did it! I see some people use one motor, some use two. Do you find your one motor is enough?
No worries :D Recently I found out that the 550 motor I used apparently has less torque than the 150 version, the 150 has a rated torque of 1.5Kg.cm while the 550 only has 0.7Kg.cm. A user on Printibles told me this, and he used the 150 and it seemed to work fine. I find the 550 gets slower as the spool gets heavier, so you have to stand next to it to increase the speed, so maybe try the 150 as this may remove this problem :)

@@LayerLabAustralia Use stepper and controller. I tried with several different motors i had laying around with no luck. Could buy one with gearbox but i used one of the steppers with ZK-SMC02 controller - which all are from another project i did. Takes cca 13 minutes to re spoll of 1Kg filament. Added a micro switch to stop on its own when spool empty so i do not need to kep watch when it finishes.
