Thirty years ago Ms. Vanderbilt was making an appearance in the department store where I was working to promote her new perfume. We were warned not to approach her or speak to her as she was there for the customers to meet after purchasing her fragrance. To my surprise they roped off a small area for her to sit and greet everyone only feet from where I was working. After the two hour session had ended and the crowd had dispersed I looked over to where she was seated. Although she was one of the worlds most famous, beautiful and wealthiest women, she was now alone looking almost like a child who was lost or waiting for someone to rescue them. She saw me and smiled and I approached her, still behind the ropes they had her seated inside. I said “hello Ms. Vanderbilt” and she asked my name and extended her hand. I said I had not purchased any perfume but would she be kind enough to sign a photo for me? She said “absolutely” and smiled as though it were Christmas morning. I will never forget what she said next. “I’m going to sign this For Ben instead of To Ben because it’s so much more personal, rather like a friend because you took the time to speak to me. And if you keep this I hope that’s how you will remember me.” I was only in my twenties then and I’m happy to say I still have the picture she gave me, now in a frame. Upon hearing of her death yesterday I immediately thought of her smile and her kind words so long ago, and how lucky her son Anderson is to have shared a life with such an incredible woman, a beautiful mother and a cherished friend.
She spent her whole live attempting to heal the trauma of not being her raised by her mother. She looked to heal the trauma thru finding new love from unattainable men. Her son, Carter, looked just like her.
I had her jeans! So happy for her. She made an extraordinary life for herself And had a loving son Anderson.💙

Yes in the liberal world ..... they exchange romance and love for lust and sleeping around. They also teach it through their movies, schools and universities. No wonder her son committed suicide in front of her eyes.
Marcel Audubon so sad when something your looking for is right around the corner.....at a certain age don’t you find it? That is what makes me sad, so maybe in your eyes that’s immature, life is short even when you died at a old age, I admire women who are content and satisfied in their golden years that’s all.

I must remember this statement from this beautiful lady. Rest in peace, Miss Vanderbilt.
You will be highly disappointed
@@KnowledgeSeeker78491 Why do you say that? Right now I'm wanting a new job. So I hope I will attract that.
@@justmyopinion9883 well job is a good thing but if you want another person's spouse, that is a bad thing.
@@justmyopinion9883 Good luck on getting a new job...all this attraction stuff is just hocus pocus
Disturbing.
I really do not like the interviewers. I feel bad for her missing a true connection of love. God had that for her. Hope she knew that.
love Anderson's choice of color for his shirt and tie when they interview him in front of his desk. It's a voilet shirt with a purple tie. And he looks marvelous in it. Such a handsome man. I know you miss your mother Anderson. She was such a marvelous lady
Wow. Stunning lady. RIP.
Lucifer was also very stunning..... then it happened....
She's open and down to earth.
Gloria Vanderbilt what a wonderful person. I realize this video is dated but by gosh. She married wyatt cooper and had two wonderful sons.she is an icon not just because of herfashion sense but because she loves her family so much.
Stunning woman. Remarkable life.
I love her art and collages
Gloria, lived her life with gusto! She is making no excuses for her life! Her men may have been attractive to her money! But, money can't buy you love; but it is a good down payment! She did it her way! R.I.P. Gloria Vanderbilt! 🙏💎🙏
yea with gusto she pushed her son to death. she did it her way.
I don't understand why she won't leave her fortunes to her children and grandchildren..
Now you're looking at her the person, not the actress, who was given everything but left nothing.
Because she had none
Because she felt that the money she received in inheritance was a curse....
Maggie Mae she is worth over 200 million .....so she does indeed have an estate. She’s giving it to her favorite charities...
Children? She has only one living child, Anderson. Does she have grandchildren? I'm not aware of any grandchildren.
Is romance just a kind word saying that she slept with a lot of people
Andrew Clark
I think it might be a way of saying she was looking for the love she didn’t get as a child.
Yes in the liberal world ..... they exchange romance and love for lust and sleeping around. They also teach it through their movies, schools and universities. No wonder her son committed suicide in front of her eyes.
This woman. What a Prize. The beauty.
Another legend has left this earth 🌎
thank God.
“Poor little rich girl” very sad life.... I feel sorry for her, I sure hope she found Jesus.... RIP✝️
grow up
Marcel Audubon so sad when something your looking for is right around the corner.....at a certain age don’t you find it? That is what makes me sad, so maybe in your eyes that’s immature, life is short even when you died at a old age, I admire women who are content and satisfied in their golden years that’s all.
What a remarkable story!
She seems a very nice person...they took her mother away from her!
Psychopaths are sexually promiscuous
A study done at the University of London showed that psychopaths were more associated with promiscuity and not with commitment. Sex for the psychopath is not about the other person, but more about the power play or stroking his or her own ego.
She had such a long, interesting, glamorous life. But, that d/n make up for not having a mother/daughter relationship. RIP Ms. Vanberbilt.
Listening To This Lady I Can Hear Myself. I Love To Be In Love. Don't Matter The Situation I Always BelieveThere's Someone Around The Corner To Fall In Love With Again Because It's Nice To Be Love. Rest In Perfect Peace Beautiful Lady.
Lovely Lady, RIP. Sending love and hugs to Anderson.
When I look at her at 92 and looking no more than 60 or so again shows you what expensive surgery can do.
A real person,a lovely lady,R.I.P.
the aristocrat Vanderbilt was doomed and end sadly in this bloodline.. It amazes me how people are so desensitized that this type of lifestyle is deemed normal.
prefer to hear her family ritual held in the empty swimming pool, and their secret of youth "walnut sauce 77".
Adrenochrome
I wish @GloriaVanderbilt has written more books and painted more art. She is a beautiful person. Her prose is unique and her paintings are amazing. As @AndersonCooper imagines, she is a traveller who may have come from a star long burnt out; but she may also have come from the past world, the feminine of the Renaissance Man.
Did she break someone's marriage?
