I know this is a silly question but are u talking about the 2 Opium war that England and China had or the 1st Opium war because i know that England started another Opium war with China but i don`t remember the year of it because of trade for tea leaves between China and England during and before America broke away from the British Crown because i notice (when Alfred (america) looks straight behind him(next to England) is young Matthew with India and Hong Kong i just wanted to know which Opium War they were talking about because i know that China and England had 2 different Wars for tea leaves and the Opium that England was selling in the black market in China during that timeline

Basially it's about Japan's emergence from isolationism at the hands of Western nations/empires...the thing with the US specifically is about the whaling industry...hence all the boats. It's really fascinating stuff and I suggest you look into it by searching things such as "Japan isolationism," "US whaling ca. 1800s," and "Japan in 1853" specifically. These will start you off and lead you to more deeper searches. Have fun!!
