Hi I have 2 1998 Spartamets. One runs the other starts on choke but bogs out when accelerating and stalls. Any Ideas? I've tried 3 different carburettors. A Carburettor off the other Spartamet and a 3D printed air intake with a weed eater carburettor. Starts but does not run. Also took the reed valve plate off to check gasket. Done my best to stop any air leaks.Gas (petrol) flow runs fine. Going to try a China carburettor next. To save the pull start I use a socket and battery drill. The nut comes undone, just do it up again.
Did you thoroughly clean the carburettor before installing? Those things can get clogged real easily. I would also recommend not having too many air restrictions in the filter. I have a "turbo" CDI which makes it run faster and a very open filter, makes it run much better than the standard one.
Another recommendation is adding 10ml of FuelFit to your two-stroke mix. Stops the mix from getting lumpy and cleans the carb when running through the system.
