- My rental apartment has only a quite small balcony which is usually empty and scorching hot when summer comes. But not this year. I have embarked on the journey to turn my balcony into a green haven. After a few months I realized that to nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.

My Mother always said, “Once you have a house, you’ll be set for life”. I’m working hard now to achieve that goal, I’m only 15 but it’s better to start early than late. Hopefully one day, I’ll be able to start my own garden.

I just thought of becoming a doctor. I'm just having fun with friends. age 23, people say I'm immature, not like my age.

I've never seen anything like this. I always thought I needed a big backyard to be able to grow vegetables like this. It looks like hard work but so worth it, definitely makes me more confident in growing some of my own veggies on my balcony
Isn't it so satisfying to know that you grew that food yourself? What a wonderful gift of knowledge you are giving your daughter. I agree that gardening and cooking are two of the most wonderful forms of therapy. Thank you!

Can I just say, as a child, eating fruits and veggies from the garden. Watching them grow, picking them, eating them. Was the BEST. Even now, I have a better appreciation of in season fruits and veggies, and what they're supposed to taste like when fresh. Such a big difference.

Yes, I agree with you. Gardening is therapy! It doesn't matter how cheap or expensive the plants are. Money can't replace the peace, joy, contentment or happiness that you get from gardening.

I'm a gardener and a youtuber and I had to watch this video ... over and over. This is a testament to the glory of God who has made every natural provision freely availabe for our survival. All it takes is a person to put these things together ....

You are an inspiration. I've started a fall vegetables container garden this year after watching several RUclipsrs gardening videos. Yours being the top one.
Growing plants make you feel extremely happy, stress free. It is as same as you nourish your own children. By seeing growing them everyday and taking care of them, when they're exposed to insects, such kind of acts make you more courteous. Besides, the wooden architecture you prepared on your own is so aesthetic. And the kid is also helping you and alongside also learning the most precious value system.

When I was 12, me and my stepdad used to do gardening together, that was the only enjoyable activity I ever did with him and seeing this just reminded me of that wholesome feeling. You have put so much love into this, thank you for sharing it with all of us!

I LOVE that you did this!!! I think it is very healing to grow plants. More importantly, growing the food you eat brings you back into a relationship of balance with your food. You are feeding and nurturing these plants before the seeds have even propagated and when you harvest those very same plants will feed you. It is a love/love situation in perfect balance. Nothing tastes like your own home grown tomatoes and vegetables.
This is probably the best balcony vegetable garden I've seen! Thank you for showing how to use nettle against aphids. My tomatoes and cucumbers used to do pretty well until the aphids came and destroyed them mid-season. Nothing I tried - even the strong insecticide I used in desperation - couldn't save them. The only crops that have managed to thrive on my balcony are parsley, arugula, basil, dill, lettuce, mini eggplants and chilies.
Just wondering how often do you spray it for aphids?
I sprayed them about once a week. My balcony gets a lot of sun and heat in the summer, so I guess the quick evaporation and drying made the treatment less effective.
