What a pity that producers of the drama didn't make a music video with orginal, reisinged song. If they had costumes and cameras I don't think it would be a big problem to prepare it. That surely would make drama series more popular and entertaining :
I don't think it would matter if they use similar costumes because it would still not suit them. Some time I would visualise the characters as western characters because of their blonde or different colour hair. It makes more sense that way.
This show is taiwanese.. While the copyrights for song are under Japanese singer mamoru miyano and his agency .. So they can't just use this song cross borders
this is truly tragic. as one of the fans that waited months for the live to come out, hoping and expecting great things... it was such a let down i was heart broken for a week! the acting, the costumes, and... and... SIWON! whyyy??? *sobs in a corner*
Hiiro Takako I couldn't agree more. It was almost unwatchable , i stopped after 3 episodes. I love Skip Beat so much, i hope they make better version of the manga
Valkyrie I truly hope so too (preferably with a higher budget and much better CG graphics!) I didn't finish the second episode of the live... I don't mean to offend those who actually liked it but.. it was horrid TT_TT
Hiiro Takako I talked on fb group how awful the show was but seems like I was the only one who disliked it. Horrid and dreadful, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not to mention that voice over on Siwon and Donghae, why god why
Valkyrie the people I talked to seemed to just "accept it" like it was okay. not extraordinary but not bad either. Like you, I'm left in a confused state. I was looking forward with the episode with kyoko and sho in his MV... all I got is a couple of not very good actors in chicken costumes!
I'm with you a 1000% about the voice overs. you don't speak the language? ask someone else to do the role! (even though I actually like Donghae -__-)
Hiiro Takako Hahaha you got that right, couple of not very good actors in chicken costumes, best description of this MV LOL. They casted them because of their popularity but it failed so miserably. Bad choice of actors too IMO. Especially for Ren, needed someone much more charismatic. They massacred it completely. I really hope better production company picks it up next time :(

after watching the scene in "skip beat" it was kind of disappointing in this. the portrayal in the anime was so eye catching but in here it lacks some acting. just my opinion though.
I'm sorry but as much as how I love SUJU, this live drama really destroyed such a wonderful masterpiece. Honestly, everything about this live is just cringy and tragic. I love both the manga and anime but the live drama is just not up to its game. Augh.

Your right but not really anything they did skip beat runs on being a manga with over acting chibi moments and kyoko really expressive (i think that the right word) face which no human can mimic even close plus all the little moments in her head no live action no matter how good can pull that off without looking cheap and weak im staying away from this liveaction because no matter how good it is it wont even be close
Shelby Cox I agree with u 100% this was a utter disappointment nightmare... they shouldn’t have made this....why oh why..... big disappointment i never watched it because I’ll end up hating the casting crew and the people who made this life...
Holy shit I watched this as a kid and am just now realizing how weird the costumes were 😂😂 but Hae looks hot! I wonder why he hasn't been in any dramas lately

So damn cheap, that why I hate live action movies.... They look like a cheap cosplay show, instea of trying to make a movie after a manga/anime, they should find solutions on how they can transform a manga/anime in a movie, and find some good actors.... Those movies are so lame and embarassing to watch....

The anime potrays it better than live action. As i expected much high from live action since theyre suju, but tho this one is not that standout , hmm hope that theyre going to remake it again nd carefully pick the outmost actress who can really act like kyoko in anime to give justice to the story of course
this is totally tragic for skip beat comics fans.. doesnt matter if im an elf.. the live action version is horrible.. yoshiki nakamura should have not agree for this live action.. the actors cant even acts...

The costume of Kyoko hasn't any reason to be. The reason why Sho was astonished in the manga was because Kyoko looked more mature in the costume, and with the costume of the drama she looks inocent just like she always was :T.

All the people hating on the drama that haven't even actually seen it have no grounds for genuinely disliking it, as 1. You don't know what it's actually like. How can one random music video justify your basis for how the drama's quality is? 2. Let's be honest, here. The anime, in terms of quality, is not better than the drama. Not only does the drama have better music than this disgusting 'Prisoner' song, it also has a narration that allows us to see into the character's head, like in the original manga. 3. If you were wondering, the reason 'Prisoner' is not a good song is the fact that a. The singer is bad b. The lyrics don't suit Shou's original intent of the music video c. The song itself is repetitive and grinds on my ears, it is in no way quality piece of music, and d. It was not very well animated, either. 4. The anime's style of animation does not suit the manga very well. There's emotion in the manga that isn't expressed in the anime, though it came through in the drama. So try asking yourselves that. While I would say that the manga is better than both the drama and the anime, I would say the drama is better than the anime. I was horrified by the anime. I was expecting something much better. Oh, and 5. I think that it's sad you have to comment on an unofficial music video of the drama just to hate on it. Why don't you try promoting the anime on the anime's music video instead of bringing your unwanted hate here? Thanks very much.

I have a feeling this might have been due to budget and popularity or something of this sort. Like how the anime version Skip Beat wasn't really popular since it aired at midnight.
+kimmy77512 hmmm. the anime version was kinda disappointing since it cut out most of the veeeery funny moments that is in the manga. but so far it is muuuuuuuuuuuch better than the live action . I only had to watch this horrid vid to convince myself that I wouldn't want to try watching a whole episode

well, i can't say the live version is as great as the anime version but still not bad.One thing is sure, the kyoko in this video is quite cute.Isn't she. But when i see Sho, i feel as if i am seeing some punk! hahaha !!! whatever. Anyways, i know u(skip beat live version) can do it. u just need some improvements with the facial expressions. u need to do it in such a way that everyone's attentions are not in thinking that how unreal your costumes are but in how real your expressions and actings are. perfections in acting don't come with how expensive the makeup is and how it makes u beautiful but with how much u really want to express your feelings. your feelings and emotions that show up on your face while acting is the true makeup needed for your win. 🌠🌟🐞❄🌈♐♋♊🎡

As an anime about acting and stuff, I have to say, I loved it for all it's intensity and the details and the progress of the characters in the manga. All their inner thoughts, especially Kyouko's, and whatever that's running thru her head. So when watched this, I feel like, there is not a shred of the character Kyouko in this live. It destroyed the story, much more the characters. It lacks the intensified version of raw emotions and facial expressions that was provided in the story tbh.
Is this version of Skip Beat any good? If so does it come with English subtitles?

oh, that was the live action of skip beat huh? kinda sucked, when kyoko cried she was supposed to have tears? maybe there were some but i clearly couldnt see any. the costumes look lame?! before i clicked this, i saw an mv on Prisoner. at least the guy, sho had the clothes in the anime, a fairytale prince costume. the hair is not even silver? what the hell, aren't mimori's hair supposed to be blonde as well? was that white I saw? the females costumes look the same? the male's well just saying.
