- Heyooo, Shaun here!! With Mindy just finishing her trek to Everest Base Camp I figured it was my time to shine 😉 (jk we all know she's the star)! I sent the team up with bags of my homemade beef jerky, so I wanted to show y'all how it's done. Hope you enjoy! COMMENT BELOW👇🏻 and tell me what I should make next!

First things first we needed to get the beef (and a lot of it...almost 60 pounds). Dakota and I cut off the fat, chilled the meat and then sliced it using my trusty meat slicer...you can do it by hand though. Next, we marinated it in a mix of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, water, salt, steak rub, garlic, and my SECRET INGREDIENT liquid smoke 🔥
We let those sit in buckets overnight to really soak in the flavor. Once the beef was marinated, we spaced it out on the dehydrator racks. As the jerky started cooking, I went to check on it every 2-3 hours and pulled out the pieces that were ready. After about 12 hours it was all done, and let me tell you...it was a DELICIOUS LABOR OF LOVE! 🥓 Seriously, it's so good and such a fan favorite in our house. I'm already down to my last bucket, so I might be making a second batch soon. Maybe I'll try a new recipe! 😅

Homemade beef jerky is better than store bought. Yummy. An ex-friend of mine’s mother has made it and I’ve had it so good. Beautiful family.

When we leave the beef to marinate overnight, do we leave it in the fridge or just at room temperature?
I would assume fridge as the reason they left it overnight outside is because it was cold out x

I am based in South Africa, and we don't call it jerky we call it biltong. We make it completely different and keep the fat on the meat. We make it very differently.🤣
